Peace and compassion, by Mazin Qumsiyeh

US envoy Jason Greenblat and US Ambassador to Israel Friedman (both racistJews who support ethnic cleansing and colonialism and have more loyalty toIsrael than the US) are meeting Palestinian rulers in Ramallah. The sameday Israeli occupation forces invaded Jenin and murdered 17-year-old AwsSalameh and 20-year-old Saad Salah. Israeli forces also injured manythroughout the illegally occupied Palestinian areas including 13 year oldJerusalemite Nour Hamdan who lost his eye to an Israeli sniper. Same day asMr. Netanyahu pushed a bill for the Knesset that want to emphasize Israelas the state of the Jewish people (not a state of its citizens) and thusincrease discrimination against the indigenous people of Palestine.I finally have my luggage after returning from the USA a week ago throughJordan. We find it deplorable that we natives of this land are forbiddenfrom using the only international airports in Palestine (renamed Israel)since 1948. When will this injustice be rectified? When will Palestinianrefugees be allowed to return to their homes and lands? When will "Israel"be held to account for its crimes against humanity (so well documented)? When will the world understand that srael/USA attempts to create havoc inWestern Asia (the news of Syria, Qatar, Yemen etc) will not help hide thecentrality of the Palestinian question?Peace in Jerusalem/Palestine is central to Peace in the world. Oppressionand greed eventually come to a dead end. International law, democracy, justice, and human rights must be more than words uttered by hypocritical"leaders". But ultimately it is us the people who need to get our acttogether to have peace in our heart and compassion for others lessfortunate than we are. We must have RESPECT for ourselves, others, and theenvironment (the motto of the Palestine Museum of Natural History atBethlehem University, samples of my lectures which speak of diagnosis, therapy, and prognosis shuts down beaches polluted by sewage from besieged Gaza Strip Yourselves for Costly Palestinian Solidarity Palestinian village had solar power — until Israeli soldiers took it away Palestine is Still the Issue HumanMazin QumsiyehA bedouin in cyberspace, a villager at homeProfessor and (volunteer) DirectorPalestine Museum of Natural HistoryPalestine Institute of Biodiversity and SustainabilityBethlehem UniversityOccupied Palestinehttp://qumsiyeh.orghttp://palestinenature.orgJoin me on facebook
