Pakistani National TV Reveals That Obama’s Claim To Have Killed Osama Bin Laden Is “An American Hoax” | Paul Craig Roberts
By readers’ request, this is a reposting of a translation of a Pakistani National TV interview with an eyewitness to the alleged SEAL Team Six attack that allegedly killed Osama bin Laden. I made the translation available two years ago in an article prior to the creation of this website. Before you believe “your” government’s lies about Syria, remember “your” government’s lies about...

Libya in Anarchy Two Years after NATO Humanitarian Liberation, by F. William Engdahl | Global Research
In 2011 when Muhammar Qaddafi refused to leave quietly as ruler of Libya, the Obama Administration, hiding behind the skirts of the French, launched a ferocious bombing campaign and a “No Fly” zone over the country to aid the so-called fighters for democracy. The US lied to Russia and China with help of the (US-friendly) Gulf Cooperation Council about the Security Council Resolution on Libya and used it to illegally justify the war. The doctrine, “responsibility to protect” was used instead, the same doctrine Obama wants to use in Syria. It’s useful to look at Libya two years after the NATO humanitarian intervention...

Barghouthi: “Israel Used Peace Talks To Implement Apartheid," by Saed Bannoura | nsnbc international
...Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi, stated that the Oslo peace agreement is a big failure, and that Israel is the only party that benefits from this treaty. Barghouthi said that agreement was transitional and partial, and did not carry any characteristics of the main goal of peace talks. “This allowed Israel to implement a system of apartheid, by significantly escalating its settlement activities, and the theft of Palestinian lands, Israel is using the peace deal as a cover-up for its violations”..

The Palestinian worker left to bleed to death in Tel Aviv | Middle East Monitor
Five days after his death, the family and friends of Ihsan Abu-Sitta are still in shock. The Palestinian worker died in Tel Aviv after his boss tossed him to the side of the road when he was injured at work; he was left to bleed to death. People came from all over the occupied West Bank, the Negev Desert and Jaffa to attend his funeral in Askar refugee camp on the outskirts of Nablus. Amira Hass, writing in Haaretz newspaper, said that family and friends from Gaza are still waiting for permits from the Israelis to allow them to travel to pay their respects...

A “Nuclear-Free Zone” in the Middle East? Why Israel will not Join the Non-Proliferation Treaty, by Timothy Alexander Guzman | Global Research
Iran’s New President Hassan Rouhani has requested that Israel to sign and become a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) as he spoke for a second time at the United Nation General Assembly. “As long as nuclear weapons exist, the threat of their use exists,” Rouhani said, citing the American bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.  Rouhani is calling for “nuclear-free zone” in the Middle East.  Israel is the only country in the Middle East that had not and will not sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.  Israel would use nuclear weapons if it felt it was threatened by any nation in the Middle East...

Nazis ‘offered to leave western Europe in exchange for free hand to attack USSR,’ by Jasper Copping | The Telegraph
...a new book claims to have solved the riddle of the flight to Britain in 1941 of Rudolf Hess, Adolf Hitler’s deputy. Hess’s journey to Britain by fighter aircraft to Scotland has traditionally been dismissed as the deranged solo mission of a madman. But Peter Padfield, an historian, has uncovered evidence he says shows that, Hess, the deputy Fuhrer, brought with him from Hitler, a detailed peace treaty, under which the Nazis would withdraw from western Europe, in exchange for British neutrality over the imminent attack on Russia...

Al-Shabbab’s Monstrous Evolution, by Anwar Kazaur | Veterans Today
...Kenya’s intervention against Al-Shabaab in Somalia was bound to attract blow backs and retaliatory strikes from the increasingly isolated fundamentalist group, but the ferocity and attrition with which the Nairobi rampage was carried out is a clear reflection of Al-Shabaab’s shifting strategy and the senseless cruelty that has become its new hallmark...

EU calls for explanations from Israel over diplomat scuffle | Hang The Bankers
European diplomats are holding Israel accountable over an incident where IDF servicemen attacked a EU humanitarian convoy in the West Bank on Friday. So far Tel Aviv has left the scandal in limbo, offering no official explanation for the incident. Diplomats from several EU countries have spoken out against the shocking incident of harassing a person with diplomatic immunity, clearly awaiting some sort of official reaction from the state of Israel. After disturbing photos of the French diplomat.. spread on the ground with IDF soldiers standing around her hit international news, the scandal over hijacked EU aid to homeless Bedouins from demolished villages in the West Bank has gained momentum.....

Roy Bard is a known figure within Britain’s far left, anti-war and the Palestinian Solidarity Movement. He is a member of the Indymedia UK collective, a leading British anti-capitalist media outlet. I first encountered Bard five years ago.  At the time the site was subjected to an international Jewish ‘anti’-Zionist campaign: a cabal of ethnic activists demanded that Indymedia delete my articles.  Being a principled man, Bard didn’t bow to their pressure. Bard has been subjected to a malicious slanderous campaign ever since...

Pulling the Plug on the First Amendment, by Rosemarie Jackowski | MCW News
...The extreme arrogance of government started a long time ago. During the Truman Administration the Black Budget was authorized. Not one informed vote has been cast in the United States since then. Think about that. If there ever was democracy in the USA, it died with the passage of the National Security Act of 1947. Place a call to your Congressman. Ask about the Black budget, or better yet, ask about the CIA system of Black Prisons around the world. Citizens are routinely denied any information. That is bad. Congressmen are also routinely denied access to information. That is even worse...

Replace Third Party Delusions With A Political Boycott, by Joel S. Hirschhorn | Global Research
...As someone who worked within the federal and state political system for a long time I am totally convinced that the American political system has become a farce, actually an evil system for the vast majority of Americans. Why?  Because this political system has become the tool for sustaining the upper, wealthy class and is destroying the middle class and succeeding in creating a two-class society. Economic inequality is now at its highest level. This has resulted because the rich, upper class controls the political system through money that more than earns a terrific return on the funds invested.. We desperately need a second American revolution...

Far from ambivalent, by Jonathan Cook | The View from Nazareth
...According to Oren, contrary to appearances, Israel has been far from ambivalent about who emerges victorious from the fighting between Bashar Assad’s regime and the rebels — a ragbag of secular and Islamist groups, some of the latter allied with Al-Qaeda. Rather than preferring “the devil we know”, as many Israeli officials have observed of Assad and his father (“devils” who kept the border with Israel remarkably quiet for decades) Oren says Israel has been quietly cheering on the rebels from the outset and that it was in fact hoping for Assad’s downfall “well before the outbreak of hostilities”..

Rouhani at the UN, by Pepe Escobar | CounterPunch
...It’s WAVE time. WAVE as in World Against Violence and Extremism. Not in Farsi, lost in translation; in English. “I propose as a starting step… I invite all states… to undertake a new effort to guide the world in this direction … we should start thinking about a coalition for peace all across the globe instead of the ineffective coalitions for war.” So the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, has just invited the whole planet to join the WAVE. How come no “coalition of the willing” leader ever thought about that?..

A Government Answerable to No One, by Philip Giraldi | Antiwar
The Edward Snowden March 2009 memo which reveals that the National Security Agency (NSA) is illegally spying on American citizens and then passing the raw information it obtains on to Israel is particularly shocking because it demonstrates with documentary evidence just how Washington’s inside the beltway crowd places its relationship with Israel above its responsibility to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States. But equally interesting is the tale of the dog that did not bark in the night...

Sanctions: Cruel and counterproductive, by Jason Ditz | Al Jazeera
...The US, ever the fan of unilateral action, has imposed sanctions on no less than 17 foreign nations, with sanctions targeted at organisations covering dozens of others. Cuba’s sanctions stand the longest, dating back to 1962 and with little to show for it except for a black market for Cuban cigars in the US. For the aggressor, sanctions are a measure short of military action, cheaper and less overtly messy. Yet they are, at their core, a form of collective punishment, fraught with all the same moral and practical problems, and a history of overwhelming failure...

Further signs that the insurgency is falling apart while the Syrian military is getting stronger and stronger | The Vineyard of the Saker
Great news from Syria today: eleven Islamist rebel groups in Syria have announced they do not recognise the authority of the main opposition alliance, the National Coalition.. the "Istanbul-based Western-backed National Coalition was formed in November 2012 and is recognised by more than 100 countries as a legitimate representative of the Syrian opposition".  Now let's translate all this into plain English: The liver-eating Wahabi crazies which represent at least 50% of the insurgency in Syria are refusing to take orders from the US-controlled Syrian National Coalition...

Lavrov: Homemade sarin was used in attack near Damascus | RT News
Russia has enough evidence to assert that homemade sarin was used on August 21 in a chemical attack near Damascus, the same type but in higher concentration than in an Aleppo incident earlier this year, Russian FM Sergey Lavrov said.. “The main conclusion is that the type of sarin used in that incident was homemade. We also have evidence to assert that the type of sarin used on August 21 was the same, only of higher concentration.”..

Obama at the UN: The Syrian Blues and a Persian Puzzle, by M. K. Bhadrakumar | Strategic Culture Foundation
...this is by far the single most important foreign-policy move that Obama has made during the past 5-year period in office. Some draw parallel with Richard Nixon’s opening to China in the early seventies. But at the very least, Obama’s overture goes far beyond a tentative move – although he realizes that the «difficult history» of US-Iranian standoff cannot be «overcome overnight.»  He said if a way forward can be found on the nuclear issue, it would constitute a «major step down a long road towards a different relationship, one based on mutual interests and mutual respect.» Obama literally borrowed the diplomatic idiom from the Iranians...

Bullying, Sanctions and Bombing: Is the Israel Lobby Only a Chimp Among Gorillas? by Diana Johnstone | CounterPunch
...Defeating the Israel lobby and changing U.S. policy in the Middle East from a policy of bullying, sanctions and bombing to a policy of diplomacy and compromise would not put an end to capitalism, to the military-industrial complex or to U.S. imperialism.  But such a victory would be a good basis for going on to oppose the huge network of overseas U.S. military bases, the encircling of Russia and China, the exploitation of Africa and any return to the traditional imperialist treatment of Latin America...

The American Exceptionalism Sweepstakes, by Tom Engelhardt | TomDispatch

9/11 Perp Giuliani Joins Terrorists to Attack Rouhani, by Kevin Barrett | Veterans Today

Giuliani spoke at a rally organized by the terrorist group Mojahedin-e-Khalq (MEK) outside the UN in protest of Rouhani’s visit. The former New York mayor and 9/11 suspect, speaking to the terrorist group, charged that President Rouhani was involved in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish center in Buenos Aires, Argentina. “The irony of suspected 9/11 terrorist Giuliani, speaking to one of the world’s most reviled terrorist groups, charging the moderate president of Iran with terrorism, is extreme...

At 6:45AM on September 25, 2003, he succumbed (at age 67) after a painful courageous 12 year struggle. Tributes followed and resumed a year later. I am lost without him....I miss him so."..

Rockets Used in Damascus CW Attack Fired from Makeshift Flatbeds, Not Military Vehicles, by Tony Cartalucci | Land Destroyer
The US maintains that the chemical weapons attack in Damascus in late August could only have been the work of the Syrian government because the militants do not possess the means to carry out such an attack. The report below proves that the technology used to fire the rockets allegedly used in the attack require nothing more than a modified flatbed truck, and that the militants on record have received training and are assisted by Western contractors specifically to handle weapons inside of Syria...

An African American Perspective: Moral Hypocrisy and U.S. Exceptionalism, by Ajamu Baraka | Global Research
..the U.S. has never been a subject for reasoned discussion or debate in the media or elsewhere. Everyone knows that the U.S. is the greatest nation in the world and, therefore, has special privileges and responsibilities! Those privileges and responsibilities include not bothering with international law or processes when the government decides that the “world” (meaning itself and a few European nations and a couple of their client states) will take responsibility to enforce global order according to its own interpretations, values and needs...

America, Russia and Syria: Style and substance | The Economist
...Like a poolside daydream, Barack Obama’s plan to get Congress to authorise the use of force in Syria, announced during the Labour Day holiday, did not survive two weeks back at work. Before a deal was struck on September 14th between John Kerry, the secretary of state, and Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, it looked unlikely that the president would get the votes he needed in the House of Representatives and doubtful that he would succeed in the Senate. In narrow political terms, Russia rescued Mr Obama from the thing that presidents fear even more than hurricanes, sex scandals and economic collapse: impotence...

In revealing the threats, Gavlak and Ababneh have not only thrown a fresh spotlight on the thuggish behavior of governments like Saudi Arabia who are arming Al-Qaeda led rebels in Syria, but have also bolstered the credibility of their original story, which could very well have helped prevent an attack on Syria...

Is Human Rights Watch Manipulating Facts about Syria? by Richard Lightbown | Palestine Chronicle
...Before the UN Mission had reported its preliminary findings Human Rights Watch (HRW) jumped the gun on 10 September with its own report written by Peter Bouckaert, the organization’s Emergencies Director. The report admits that HRW did not have physical access to the site and had based its study on Skype interviews with ‘More than 10 witnesses and survivors’ made over a period of two weeks between 22 August and 6 September. These were supplemented by video and photo footage and other data from an unnamed source or sources. It is unclear then, exactly how many exposed survivors were interviewed by HRW or who the other witnesses were...

Syrian National Coalition Spurns Peace | Stephen Lendman
The Western-sponsored Syrian National Coalition (SNC) lacks legitimacy. It’s an artificial construct. It operates extrajudicially. It's a rogue outlaw gang. It supports war. It abhors peaceful conflict resolution. It wants Assad toppled. It wants governance subservient to Western interests replacing him. It's anti-democratic. It wants diktat rule. Terrorism in Syria Funded by US and Persian Gulf, by Alexander Orlov | New Eastern Outlook
...Not only Riyadh and Doha officials, but also individuals from the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, who are beyond the control of their authorities, are deeply involved in the financing of armed Syrian opposition, what’s more the most radical sections of it. The flow of U.S. arms, provided to the Syrian rebels, is being generously paid for with new infusions of cash from Islamist extremists, and a large part of these funds come from Arab networks of financial aid contributors, which consider the Syrian conflict as a step toward a broader “Islamist transformation of the Arab world”..

In relentless obsession, Israel is attempting to ignite the Middle East's ultimate TNT. In the last days of September 2013, newly released data shows that the effort is escalating dangerously. The Al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock mosques atop it are among the holiest places to Islam. In the past, the First and Second Jewish temples stood there. The Western Wall is nowadays the most visible leftover of the Second Temple. Quietly and slowly, Israel is planning the Third Temple, an event that may trigger an Armageddon-style war...

The Lobby Sets Out To Defeat Obama on Iran | MJ Rosenberg
The two presidents have spoken: Barack Obama and Hassan Rouhani. And they are on the same page. By that I mean not they agree about the issues dividing the two countries but that they are both ready to move forward, to test each other and see if agreement is possible. As tentative as this is, it is also huge — as anyone who has paid even a little attention over the past 34 years knows. However, I do not see this process leading anywhere because the Netanyahu government and its lobby, the American Israel Public  Affairs Committee (AIPAC), are both determined to end the process and have the ability to do it...

Nasrallah: Saudi Arabia, Turkey have failed in Syria | Al Akhbar
Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other regional countries backing Syria's rebels must acknowledge their failures to bring down the Syrian government, and join efforts for a political solution to end the two and a half year civil war.. Nasrallah said on Monday. Nasrallah said dialogue is the only option to bring an end to a conflict that has already left over 100,000 people dead and threatened to exacerbate tensions across the region. "I call on Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and other Gulf states to revise your stance," he said. "You won't reach anywhere by relying on a military victory. Not everyone agreed. Various budget-cutting organizations argued that the Raptor had never been used and thus no one could tell whether it had a useful life. Anyway, the job of the Air Force, killing third-world peasants and their families, had been co-opted by drones. America didn´t need a new fighter, said the critics. The Air Force countered that the new plane would look feral and make loud, exciting noises.. Design studies began...

Bloody Weekend Explodes Washington’s Contradictions over Al Qaeda and War on Terror, by Finian Cunningham | Strategic Culture Foundation
...The campaign in Syria to destabilize the Damascus government has deployed the full gamut of terrorist tactics, from no-warning car bombs in civilian neighborhoods, to wholesale massacres of villages, including beheadings and the use of toxic chemicals against civilians. The latest incident of alleged chemical weapons near Damascus on 21 August is reliably attributed to the Western-backed militants, according the Russian government and others – not the Syrian armed forces as the Western capitals and media have asserted. That attack is most likely a deliberate provocation to justify Western military intervention in Syria...

US Credibility in Syria and the World, by Geoffrey McDonald | CounterPunch
...In the eyes of the USA, the original “red line” transgressed by the Syrian government was in coming to power 40 years ago as an Arab nationalist state. It wanted to challenge the lack of sovereignty in the Arab world because the West had already established its interest in controlling the region. Syria wanted the Arab nations to unite and become an independent force in world politics. To achieve this, it needed a power that could stand up to Israel, which aimed to weaken the new Arab states...

Netanyahu’s Premature Joy on a Pending Death | Roi Tov
...At the time this article was being written, Prime Minister Netanyahu had not yet released a formal statement. Considering the situation, he will issue one only after the death of Rabbi Yosef. Yet, his position is known. Since the late 1980s, Shas has been targeted by the State of Israel as an undesirable party. Since its views are legal, the State adopted a different tactic. In the Zionist Paradise, entrapment is the State's favorite way of achieving revenge, its highest and apparently only value...

Wilkerson say Graham and McCain 'border on being traitors' for allegiance to Netanyahu | Mondoweiss
...Israel has an enormous impact on U.S. foreign policy, but it’s beginning to be so detrimental to U.S. foreign and security policy that people like John McCain and Lindsey Graham, with their hands out to the Jewish lobby for more donations to their PACs and so forth, just simply need to shut up and go back into the dark shadows from whence they emerged...

Al Qaeda Surges Ahead in Syria, by Dr Stuart Jeanne Bramhall | Salon
While the major powers behind the proxy civil war in Syria go through the motions of working out a diplomatic solution, rebel forces have begun fighting each other, rather than the Assad regime. The al Qaeda-linked Islamist militants from Iraq and Libya have been fighting the Free Syrian Army in northern and eastern Syria. According to RT, the Islamists are winning...

Are Jewish communities planning to ‘annex’ parts of north London? by Stuart Littlewood | Intifada Palestine
...It smacks of psychological warfare aimed at making non-Jewish communities feel vulnerable and unsafe. Presumably the aerial boundaries will be expanded as the ‘ingathering’ proceeds and uncomfortable non-Jewish residents are driven out. How long before those who complain about this creeping annexation of their neighbourhoods, however “symbolic”, are smeared with the anti-Semitic label?..

Obama-Rouhani: lights, camera, action, by Pepe Escobar  | Asia Times Online
The stage is set. By now it's established Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has given full authority to the new administration of President Hassan Rouhani to talk directly to Washington about Iran's nuclear program. This happened only a few days after US President Barack Obama leaked that letters had been exchanged between himself and Rouhani...

Syria diplomacy helps shuffle global order, by George Gao | Asia Times Online
When US President Barack Obama tried to drum up momentum for airstrikes in Syria to punish and deter the use of chemical weapons, he failed to gain much of a following. At this month's Group of 20 summit in St Petersburg - which featured leaders from 20 of the world's top economies - the US proposed a statement to condemn Syria's use of chemical weapons. But over half the other participants - from the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), the European Union, Argentina, Indonesia, Mexico and Germany - chose not to sign...

Questions Plague UN Report on Syria, by Sharmine Narwani | Al Akhbar
A senior United Nations official who deals directly with Syrian affairs has told Al-Akhbar that the Syrian government had no involvement in the alleged Ghouta chemical weapons attack: "Of course not, he (President Bashar al-Assad) would be committing suicide.” When asked who he believed was responsible for the use of chemical munitions in Ghouta, the UN official, who would not permit disclosure of his identity, said: “Saudi intelligence was behind the attacks and unfortunately nobody will dare say that.” The official claims that this information was provided by rebels in Ghouta...

Egypt Outlaws Muslim Brotherhood | Roi Tov
...Egypt is large, but most of it is empty desert. In just 4% of the Egyptian territory, surrounding the Nile River, live 85 million people in one of the world's most densely populated areas. This is roughly twice the size of Israel, with over eight-times its population. Even this comparison is quite faulty if not mentioning that Egypt's economic output is just a bit larger than the Israeli. These two neighbors are surprisingly similar, even in their liking of generals at the top of their respective political systems, in what one day will be defined as "disguised military dictatorships."..

Pope criticises focus on 'idol called money' | Al Jazeera
Pope Francis has criticised a global economic system that "idolised" money, saying it was behind suffering and unemployment as he visited the struggling Italian island of Sardinia. Francis, at the start of a day-long trip to the Sardinian capital, Cagliari, put aside his prepared text at a meeting with unemployed workers, including miners. "I find suffering here... it weakens you and robs you of hope," he said on Sunday. "Excuse me if I use strong words, but where there is no work there is no dignity."..

Yiddish Humour | Gilad Atzmon
A skit from the new movie 'Inappropriate Comedy' featuring Jewish 'comedian' Ari Shaffir, aka the Amazing Racist, asking Jews to sign a petition for killing Jesus. On the face of it, a Jew mocks other Jews. The meaning of it, however, is devastating. A secular, atheist and progressive Jew is mocking Christianity, Jesus and the Church...
[Gilad’s remarks prompt the question, isn’t ‘progressive Jew’ an oxymoron? I, for example, could be labeled a progressive and a Jew (by birth and upbringing), but to the extent I am the former, it is by choice – while a Jew merely through circumstances not of my choosing. A tribal Jew is bound by tradition, which precludes being what is generally considered to be ‘progressive,’ a stance based on universal values rather than identity politics.]

UK Man Wins Court Case Against BBC For 9-11 WTC 7 Cover Up | The Top Information Post
Tony Rooke refused to pay a TV license fee because the BBC intentionally misrepresented facts about the 9/11 attacks, he alleged. It is widely known that the BBC reported the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 over 20 minutes before it occurred. WTC 7 was a 47-story skyscraper that was not hit by a plane on 9/11 but collapsed at free-fall speed later that day.

Potential US war on Syria based on a snuff movie, by Finian Cunningham | PressTV
Not only is it an act of criminal aggression against an innocent country - the supreme crime according to Nuremberg Principles - but that transgression would itself be based on another vile crime - the deliberate killing of children for propaganda purposes. The notorious videos purporting to show the half-clothed bodies of dozens of lifeless Syrian children are the central component of US claims for launching a war against Syria.. On close examination of the alleged gas attack videos that came out of Syria on 21 August, the blunt assessment is that the footage is nothing less than a snuff movie...

What Happened to John Kerry? From Anti-War Vietnam to Bellicose Rhetoric on Syria, by Dr. Robert P. Abele | Global Research
As he has demonstrated by his bellicose rhetoric on Syria, John Kerry has made complete his 180-degree transition from an anti-war Vietnam veteran who in 1971 threw his navy medals back onto the White House lawn and who testified to Congress on the immorality of war, to a belligerent warrior without a cause. Tracing the causes of this shift is perhaps pointless, but a comparison between the 1971-Kerry and the 2013-Kerry will reveal the corrupting influence of the combination of money and power with its necessary consequence of surrendering what Kerry himself calls one’s “moral compass.”..

Two-State Solution or Illusion? by Lawrence Davidson | Intifada Palestine
Peter Beinart is a “liberal Zionist” who has written a piece in the NY Review of Books of 26 September 2013 entitled “The American Jewish Cocoon.” In this essay he laments, “The organized Jewish community [is] a closed intellectual space.” By this he means that most American Zionist Jews (it is important to remember that not all Jews are Zionists) know little or nothing about those who oppose them, particularly Palestinians. They also seem to have no interest in changing this situation. For these Zionists the opposition has been reduced to an irredeemably anti-Semitic “them.”..

Gas missiles 'were not sold to Syria,' by Robert Fisk | The Independent
While the Assad regime in Damascus has denied responsibility for the sarin gas missiles that killed around 1,400 Syrians in the suburb of Ghouta on 21 August, information is now circulating in the city that Russia's new "evidence" about the attack includes the dates of export of the specific rockets used and – more importantly – the countries to which they were originally sold. They were apparently manufactured in the Soviet Union in 1967 and sold by Moscow to three Arab countries, Yemen, Egypt and Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's Libya...

How Shlomo Sand Ceased to be a Jew – or Did He? by Gilad Atzmon | Dissident Voice
...From an ethical and universal perspective Israel is at a dead end. Yet, he still fails to grasp that Israel is only part of the problem. More and more thinkers are now regarding Israel as a mere symptom of Jewish identity politics. More and more, commentators are becoming aware of a tribal ideological and spiritual continuum between Israel, Zionism, the so-called Jewish anti Zionists and the Left in general. It is no longer a secret that, like Zionists, Jewish ‘anti Zionists’ invest most of their political energy chasing the so-called ‘anti Semites’ – those who analyze Israeli and Zionist politics within the context of Jewish culture and philosophy...

Alan Hart: Human Rights v Tyranny | My Catbird Seat
...I never cease to be amazed by the hypocrisy of our leaders and their governments. Early this month the Obama administration accused Russia of holding the Security Council “hostage” for vetoing a resolution to authorize the U.S. to attack Syria. The truth is that no country holds the Security Council hostage more often than America. It has, for example, cast 42 vetoes to prevent the Zionist state of Israel being called and held to account for its crimes)..

Israel's Response to Iranian Initiative, by Sherwood Ross | MCW News
Israel’s mean-spirited response to Iran’s olive branch actually illuminates its own aggressive posture. Along comes Hassan Rouhani, the new Iranian president, and instead of applauding his initiatives to meet with President Obama and resolve outstanding issues by diplomacy, Israeli Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz says “there is no more time for negotiations.” And although Rouhani only just took office last month, his appeal for negotiations was dismissed by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu as a deceitful “charm offensive.”..

Obama Intends Shock and Awe Madness on Syria | Stephen Lendman

Moreover, Yugoslavia became a world leader in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), a large group of nations traditionally led by India who chose not to align themselves with either the US or the Soviets during the Cold War. Western lies, criminality unraveling in Syria, by Finian Cunningham | PressTV
...what is clear is that Western governments are shamelessly contriving partial and unsubstantiated data to fit political objectives. The rush to railroad a guilty verdict on the Syrian government shows once again that the Western objective is regime change. That objective is criminal and the means to achieve it - fabricating lies and fomenting acts of war - gravely compound the criminality...

In Syria, There are no Moderates, by Tony Cartalucci | Land Destroyer
Stopped short of direct military intervention by Syrian-Russian geopolitical maneuvering, the West has attempted to retrench their agenda of subverting Syria in a variety of ways. It was reported that the US is now officially arming terrorists inside of Syria after years of semi-covertly passing them thousands of tons of weapons at a time and billions in cash directly and indirectly through Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, and Qatar. The goal, in part, is to sabotage any attempted UN incursion into Syria to verify and disarm Syria’s chemical weapons, then use the UN’s failure as justification for direct military intervention...

White House Lashes ‘Insufficient’ Iranian Peace Offers, by Jason Ditz | Antiwar

Imperial ‘Exemptionalism,’ by Nebojsa Malic | Antiwar
...Though Bosnia in 1995 was the pilot episode for “bombs for peace,” the 1999 attack on Serbia is usually considered the first true “humanitarian” intervention. Nor did any of that stop in 1999, when the war officially ended...

Rouhani's Message, by Paul Pillar | The National Interest
The op ed from President Hassan Rouhani in the Washington Post should be read carefully on at least four levels. Can Washington Reciprocate Iran’s “Constructive Engagement”? | Going to Tehran
As New York prepares for the annual opening of the United Nations General Assembly next week, the volume of Western media speculation about the prospects for a U.S.-Iranian diplomatic breakthrough is mounting to impressive levels.  Predictably, much of this speculation amounts to little more than wondering how many concessions the Islamic Republic’s new president, Hassan Rohani, is willing and will be able to make, especially on the nuclear issue...

Israel accuses Europe of anti-Semitism, by Ramona Wadi | Middle East Monitor
...Israel's interpretation of the guidelines as 'forcing us to cede land' being detrimental to the occupying power's security is substantial to prolong the self-imposed 'existential threat' raised several times by Israeli leaders. The establishment of the illegal state has generated the internationally recognised right to resist. While Palestinians have embarked upon diverse methods of confrontation including armed resistance and the preservation of identity and memory, Israel continues to impose its superior military and intelligence power while portraying itself as a vulnerable and isolated victim by resorting to a re-enactment of Jewish suffering during the holocaust...

World Balance Reshaped, by Nikolai Bobkin | Strategic Culture Foundation
The United States has a custom of putting the countries, which have fallen out of its favor, on the “rogue states” list. Now it risks itself to be subject to international isolation.  Washington’s world political center status is being lost, Obama’s policy on Syria has happened to be short-sighted and strategically wrong. As Syria moves to destroy its chemical weapon stockpiles and join the vast majority of the world as a member of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), Israel is increasingly isolated and hypocritical – a colonial pariah with weapons of mass destruction and a constant outlier in international treaties such as the CWC, the Biological Weapons Convention, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Jewish Psychological and Political Warfare, by Jonas E. Alexis | Veterans Today

...Although further research and investigation is urgently needed by third-party organizations to establish the identity of the Ghouta attack victims and the whereabouts of the kidnapped Lattakian families, the reports, if true, are evidence of the most disgraceful war crimes imaginable and the most cold-blooded manipulations of evidence to suit an agenda...

Agricultural Annexation Faster than Settlements | Roi Tov
...Where laws do not exist, Israeli courts often refer to British Mandate and Ottoman Empire laws. In the recent Prawer Law allowing the expropriation (i.e. "robbing by the State") of Bedouin lands, the State requested the landowners to find their Ottoman Empire "Kushan" ownership papers. Not one Bedouin has such documents. They can't be issued since that empire is kaput. "Great," said the Justice, "Let's expropriate!" In the West Bank, the situation is even more complex. The area's sovereign is Israel's Minister of Defense, the conquering army commander...

Israeli troops scuffle with EU diplomats | Al Jazeera
Israeli troops have been accused of manhandling a group of European diplomats as they tried to hand out tents to Palestinian Bedouins whose West Bank homes were destroyed by the army. The troops used force to disperse the diplomats who had accompanied aid workers to the village of Makhul in the Jordan Valley, an AFP photographer said on Friday. Marion Fesneau-Castaing, a French diplomat, was dragged out of an aid vehicle, the photographer said. "They dragged me out of the truck and forced me to the ground with no regard for my diplomatic immunity," she said. "This is how international law is being respected here."..

The American Jewish Liberals and the Middle East Crisis, by Dan Lieberman | MCW News
...The most troubling aspect of the Jewish liberal Left is the attempt to divide the liberal Left into Jewish and non-Jewish. This conveniently removes a portion of the liberal Left from cooperating with others on the issue of U.S. foreign policy and specifically those concerning the Middle East. Noticeably, the thrust is to drown out the vocal opponents of Israel, who accuse Israel and Zionism (Beinart, Open Zion, J-street and the Americans for Peace Now are all outspoken Zionists) of being virulent nationalist, militarist, and racist, betraying the Jewish people and causing them grief...

Syrian Deputy Prime Minister has said that neither the government forces nor the rebels are currently capable of outright military victory in the country's civil war. US Al Qaeda Founders/Controllers Exposed, by Gordon Duff | Veterans Today
Al-Qaeda was established under the authority of President Reagan on March 27, 1985, with National Security Directive 166. This established a broad cover organization that could engage in arms and financial transactions otherwise prohibited by US law..  The fact is al-Qaeda militants are actively wiping out moderate rebel factions fighting the Assad regime, now clearly with Israeli backing. That means another “arc” exists: Tel Aviv, al-Qaeda and the globalist cabal of neocons, Zionists and financial criminals. Assisting them every step of the way is the controlled corporate media and the governments they have bought and blackmailed...

Rouhani, Like Countless Iranian Officials Before Him, Affirms Iran Will Never Seek Nuclear Weapons, by Nima Shirazi | Wide Asleep in America
Speaking in Tehran to NBC's Ann Curry in his very first interview with an American media outlet, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani again - and repeatedly, considering Ms. Curry kept asking him the same question over and over - asserted Iran's wholesale condemnation of nuclear arms and its commitment never to build or acquire such weaponry. Rouhani's statements were consistent with those of nearly every high-level Iranian official and diplomat over the past twenty years...

‘Damning Evidence’ Becomes ‘No Clear Evidence’: Much-Delayed Report On Congenital Birth Defects In Iraq, by David Cromwell | Media Lens
In a 2010 alert, 'Beyond Hiroshima – The Non-Reporting Of Fallujah's Cancer Catastrophe', we noted the almost non-existent media response to the publication of a new study that had found high rates of infant mortality, cancer and leukemia in the Iraqi city. The dramatic increases in these rates exceeded even those found in survivors of the atomic bombs dropped by the United States on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. The Independent's Patrick Cockburn was a lone exception in reporting these awful findings...

Hollywood and Kabbalist Rabbi Fight Syria | Roi Tov
The Western War on Syria is no less a Hollywood production than the unforgettable American war on Albania as rendered in Wag the Dog. Despite the latter being imaginary, its movie is one of the most significant depictions of war ever done.. Only yesterday, September 18, a coproduction of Human Rights Watch, the New York Times and Israeli military intelligence was disclosed. Like in the case of the above mentioned Albanian War, the scary effects were created by superimposing unrelated facts. A girl with a doll posing in a movies studio but seen in the movie escaping the Albanians ruthless attack...

Syria crisis: West backs down on demand for threat of war in UN resolution, by David Usborne | The Independent
Britain, France and the United States are ready to back down from a demand that a Security Council resolution on removing chemical weapons from Syria include the threat of military force if the Syrian government does not comply, senior sources have indicated. The decision could smooth the path to the adoption of the resolution possibly as early as this weekend, and may remove the threat of Western intervention in the civil war there in the immediate future...

Israel still angling for attacks on Syria and Iran, by Jonathan Cook | The View from Nazareth
...Obama’s supposed “dithering” on the question of military action has only been accentuated by Israel’s “daring” strikes on Syria – at least three since the start of the year. It looks as though Israel, while remaining largely mute about its interests in the civil war raging there, has been doing a great deal to pressure the White House into direct involvement in Syria. That momentum appears to have been halted, for the time being at least, by the deal agreed at the weekend by the US and Russia to dismantle Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal...

NYT, HRW Wrong To Claim Chemical Attack Origin | Moon of Alabama
...The UN commission report does not say how the chemical agent found in some of the investigated areas was distributed. It does not say that it came from rockets. It identified two impact sites of rockets and directions that allows to assume where those rockets were fired from. But one of those sites and rockets was never exposed to the chemical agent in question while the other site, and the ammunition debris found there, was. To conclude from these finds that ammunition carrying chemical agents were fired from a specific point or army unit or was fired by rockets at all is not legit but propaganda...

Bombing a country with which the United States is not at war in a situation in which no treaties either with the United Nations or NATO provide even a minimal fig leaf of legal cover has been described by the administration as a critical humanitarian mission even though it would not change facts on the ground in Syria and would only succeed in killing more civilians...

Misconstruing a UN Report: The Latest Neocon Tactic of Misinformation, by Wayne Madsen | Strategic Culture Foundation
...Assad’s military command and control structure has reportedly been penetrated not only by foreign agents but also by Syrian army defectors. There is as much evidence, if not more, that the sarin attack was conducted by Syrian army turncoats or foreign agents.. In addition, the UN inspectors could not ascertain from where the sarin-laden rockets were fired. The report merely stated that they were fired from the “northwest.” The U.S., France, and suspect non-governmental organizations financed by hedge fund tycoon George Soros, all suggested, without evidence, that the rockets were fired from Qassioun Mountain, a location of Syrian military bases...

Major 'NYT' piece calls two-state negotiations 'phony' - and catastrophic, by Philip Weiss | Mondoweiss
Everyone is talking about the piece by Ian Lustick titled, “Two State Illusion,” that appeared on the front of the Times’s Week in Review section yesterday. An urgent appeal to leaders to stop the charade of a peace process that has failed to produce partition and to start to imagine other ways that the conflict can be ended, the piece is historic for its appearance in such a prominent place. It recalls Tony Judt’s one-state piece, Israel: The Alternative, of ten years ago in the NY Review of Books, though Lustick is less idealistic...

Clare Short on Anti-Semitism | Stephen Sizer
Dear Bishop Christopher, I have read with great sadness the complaint which came to you through the Board of Deputies of British Jews and Stephen’s response.  I am afraid there is a pattern across many sectors of society of mobilising such complaints against people who criticise Israeli policy.  I believe this to be a very misguided policy, the history of anti semitism, particularly in Europe, has caused enormous evil, persecution and suffering, but to accuse anyone who is critical of Israeli policy anti Semitic belittles the profound significance of anti semitism.  It is also being misused so widely that the accusation no longer has the power a well informed accusation of anti semitism should have...

Against Our Better Judgment: The hidden history of how the United States was used to create Israel, by Alison Weir | If Americans Knew
While many people are led to believe that U.S. support for Israel is driven by the American establishment and U.S. national interests, the facts don't support this theory. The reality is that for decades U.S. foreign policy and defense experts opposed supporting the creation of Israel. They then similarly opposed the massive American funding and diplomatic support that sustained the forcibly established state and that provided a blank check for its aggressive expansion. They were simply outmaneuvered and eventually replaced...

And What about the Spanish Shoa? | Gilad Atzmon
The JTA reported this week that the Spanish parliament is set to vote on an amendment that would make Holocaust studies obligatory for Spanish students. If passed, the proposed amendment would introduce the genocide of the Jews by Nazi Germany into the curriculum. A quarter of Stalin’s International Brigade were socialist Jews. Driven by hatred for the church and Fascism, the destruction they left behind was enormous...

The Real Story of How Israel Was Created, by Alison Weir | If Americans Knew
..The common representation of Israel’s birth is that the UN created Israel, that the world was in favor of this move, and that the US governmental establishment supported it. All these assumptions are demonstrably incorrect. In reality, while the UN General Assembly recommended the creation of a Jewish state in part of Palestine, that recommendation was non-binding and never implemented by the Security Council. Second, the General Assembly passed that recommendation only after Israel proponents threatened and bribed numerous countries in order to gain a required two-thirds of votes...

Lavrov said the U.N. report should be examined not in isolation but along with evidence from sources such as the Internet and other media, including accounts from "nuns at a nearby convent" and a journalist who had spoken to rebels. As in the strange case of Dr. Kelly and the inexistent Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction, Israel claims that Mr. Zygier committed suicide. As with Dr. Kelly, the main side interested in the violent event was the state. In both events, the UK and Israel were desperately trying to stop testimonies of their own crimes...

Influential Palestinians Say It’s Time for a One-State Solution, by Ilene Prusher | TIME
...Some of the most prominent members of Fatah, the mainstream faction of the PLO and the axis of power for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, say the two-state solution is not longer viable. Instead, they’re campaigning for the creation of one democratic, secular state for Arabs and Jews, made up of Israel, Gaza and the West Bank. On May 15, about 30 of them signed a statement promoting this concept, launching a “Popular Movement for One Democratic State in Historic Palestine.”..

The two state solution died over a decade ago, by Ilan Pappe | ICH
...There is an urgent need for a new strategy to reformulate the relationship between Jews and Palestinians in the land of Israel and Palestine. The only reasonable regime for this seems to be one democratic state for all. If this is not going to happen, the storm on Israel’s borders will gather with even bigger force than hitherto. Everywhere in the Arab world, people and movements are seeking ways of changing regimes and oppressive political realities – surely this will also reach the new enlarged Israel; if not today, then tomorrow. The Israelis may occupy the best deck on the Titanic, but the ship is nonetheless sinking...

..“After the election, people would smile for no reason. I cannot point to anything specific, but something has changed.” He continued to tell me about the night of Rouhani’s election, how he and his friends had poured into the streets in affluent northern Tehran, booze in hand, joined by hundreds of thousands of others. “I was taking vodka shots in front of police officers. They did not say anything.”..

Sabra and Shatila: The unforgettable, unforgivable, Israeli massacre against Palestinians | Sabbah Report

Israel has 80 nuclear warheads, report says | The Times of Israel
Israel’s nuclear program has long been shrouded in secrecy, with the country maintaining a policy of ambiguity while refusing to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Previous estimates have put the number of warheads in Israel’s possession at up to 400. According to foreign reports, Israel’s military has the capacity to deliver a nuclear payload via a variety of methods, including ballistic missiles, aircraft, and submarine-launched cruise missiles...

Obama, Kerry Reiterate Threats of Attacking Iran, by Jason Ditz | Antiwar
President Obama insisted in an interview with ABC that Iran’s civilian nuclear program is a “far larger issue” than Syria’s chemical weapons, arguing that the completely civilian program is a greater threat to Israel and therefore important to the US...

Al-Sisi’s a Jew! Egypt is Now Israeli-Occupied Territory, by Kevin Barrett | Veterans Today
...The problem is that al-Sisi has concealed his Jewish identity and Israeli connections from the Egyptian people…and destroyed their nascent democracy through deception and mass murder. An even bigger problem: al-Sisi is almost certainly a Mossad agent. That means al-Sisi’s Egypt is not just a brutal, banana-republic-style dictatorship. It is Israeli-occupied territory: The newest and largest province of ever-expanding Greater Israel. No wonder the Israeli ambassador called al-Sisi “a national hero for all Jews.”..

The Syrian Crisis as an Opening to Global Disarmament, by Anthony J. Hall | Veterans Today
If little Syria is going to be made to hand over its government’s chemical weapons, why should not the aroused superpower of global public opinion demand the same of USA, Israel, Russia, France, UK, China, etc.? As polities that have made ample use of chemical weapons, including Agent Orange, white phosphorous and depleted uranium, the US and Israeli governments are in especially duplicitous positions in making demands that the Assad regime rise to standards that the world’s most militarized polities do not themselves meet...

The Myth of American Exceptionalism, by Stephen M. Walt | Foreign Policy
...Most statements of "American exceptionalism" presume that America's values, political system, and history are unique and worthy of universal admiration. They also imply that the United States is both destined and entitled to play a distinct and positive role on the world stage. The only thing wrong with this self-congratulatory portrait of America's global role is that it is mostly a myth.. What we need, in short, is a more realistic and critical assessment of America's true character and contributions. In that spirit, I offer here the Top 5 Myths about American Exceptionalism...

Meanwhile, by Mazin Qumsiyeh | Popular Resistance
I am back to Bethlehem which is physically under Israeli occupation. But then again that is less significant than mental occupation from which so many people in Palestine and elsewhere seem to suffer.  Perhaps if more of us free their minds of this mental occupation we can more easily rid ourselves of the physical occupation and colonization whether here or in America or the rest of the world.  The following are just samples of the symptoms of this Orwellian world...

The American Jewish Liberals and the Middle East Crisis | Alternative Insight
...After sixty years of oppression of Palestinians, destruction of their communities, usurpation of their lands, occupation of their territory, and deterioration of their national aspirations, a Jewish liberal Left, self-characterized by J-Street and Peter Beinart's Open Zion in the Daily Beast, has actively joined the decades of pacifist protests against Israel's policies toward the Palestinians. Similar to the Left during the Vietnam war, the self-characterized Jewish liberals disregard the arguments of the early and dedicated peaceniks who struggled for decades to alert the American public to the plight of the Palestinian people and the catastrophic direction of U.S. foreign policy...

The CIA, the Press and Black Propaganda, by Doug Valentine | CounterPunch
...The American “press” is the vital, arrogant, fatal, dominant X in black propaganda.  When it comes to the CIA and the American press, one black hand washes the other.  To gain access to CIA officials, reporters suppress or distort stories.  They sell their black souls for scoops.  In return, CIA officials leak stories to them.  At its most incestuous, reporters and CIA officers are blood relatives...

Syria: Today's Update

It will be a punitive rape, like those used in the darkest moments of the history of human-kind. It will be done, and nobody will be able to stop it. Because the gangster nature of global Western dictatorship is now so complete, and it is so frightening, that no country on earth would dare to intervene and then have its legs broken, face smashed, or eyes poked out. It is all down to a mafia approach, or inquisition, or the Crusades...

..I had never seen China point the finger at Israel for any of it before. This is a major accusation in my opinion. It seems that they have had enough with the lies and war, as they know the real prize for Israel is Iran. China does a lot of business with Iran and they appear to be protecting Iran by outright saying Israel is behind it all...

...while the UN and nations across the West feign shock over the growing humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in and around Syria, the goal of a violent sectarian conflict and its predictable, catastrophic results along with calls to literally “bleed” Syria have been the underlying strategy of special interests in the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia and their regional partners since at least 2007.. Here is a timeline that illuminates the true cause of Syria’s current conflict and the foreign interests, not the Syrian government, responsible for the tens of thousands dead and millions displaced during the conflict...

Hundreds of Christians who have fled the fighting in the ancient Syrian town of Maaloula have gathered in Damascus for the funeral of three of their neighbors.   Syrian Christians feel betrayed by the west, and are furious because of the west’s support for the Syrian opposition which is mainly dominated by foreign mercenaries linked to Al-Qaeda..

..In late 2006 the United States started to finance an external opposition to Syria's ruling Baath party. Those exiles were largely members of the Muslim Brotherhood which had been evicted from Syria after their bloody uprising against the Syrian state between 1976 and 1982 had failed. In 2007 a plan for regime change in Syria was agreed upon between the United States, Israel and Saudi Arabia. The aim was to destroy the "resistance" alliance of Hizbullah, Syria and Iran: To undermine Iran, which is predominantly Shiite, the Bush Administration has decided, in effect, to reconfigure its priorities in the Middle East...

The Russia’s proposal to initiate putting the Syria’s chemical weapons under international control is a foreign policy success, and President Putin should be given his due. But it’s not points scoring for Russia only; it’s a rare occasion when someone comes up with something that benefits all...
[Hopeful thinking, but rest assured that Israel and its 5th column in the US will ensure that nothing comes of it. They want the Syrian regime destroyed and, most likely, destroy it they will.]

Elements within the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) have fabricated intelligence to implicate the Syrian government in the recent chemical attack in Syria and cater for Washington’s case for launching strikes on the Middle Eastern country, says a retired CIA analyst. Ray McGovern made the remark in an interview with Russia Today (RT) channel on Monday amid the US rhetoric of war against Syria...

Ray McGovern served as a CIA analyst for 27 years and conducted one-on-one morning briefings for President Reagan's most senior national-security officials. (brief segments in Greek)...

Although US President Barack Obama said Tuesday that diplomatic options suggested by Russia to solve the Syrian chemical weapon crisis would be pursued, the damage done by the US beating the drums of war has already been done. The use of propaganda in wartime is nothing new. From experience with Washington's lies during former president George W. Bush's Iraq War, the international community knows the US cannot be trusted...

...In Syria the US pursues the very same goal – to overthrow the regime by all means.  It is an outright hypocrisy when the United States government says the planned action does not envision “interference into the civil war”.  This kind of keeping away from meddling in actually means that the USA plans to start a war against Syria joining together with Al Qaeda...

...He can maintain the threat of force, which incidentally is a crime under international law, that we should bear in mind that the core principle of the United Nations Charter bars the threat or use of force, threat or use of force. So all of this is criminal, to begin with, but he’ll continue with that. The United States is a rogue state. It doesn’t pay any attention to international law...

The Problem With American Exceptionalism, by Rodolfo Acuña | CounterPunch
...At least from my experiences, I have found American exceptionalism or feelings of being special to be at the root of our problems both internationally and domestically.  Many people equate American feelings of exceptionalism with racial superiority, and the notion that Americans as a people are specially blessed by god. This distortion of reality affects our relations with other nations who mock Americans for their historical amnesia toward their wars of aggression...

Exclusive Interview with Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, by Debbie Menon | Veterans News
Consider the contrast in the mellow, intelligent and measured statements by Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, and the pompous, boisterous, condescending, belligerent (and hollow) rhetoric by United States Secretary of State John Kerry!! Does Kerry still believe he is dealing with some lowlife, “mullahs” as they are so often referred to by the Zionist shills in United States Media, or some tyrannical oppressive regime that tortures ? The “silliest” of those “mullahs” could run circles around the likes of John McCain, Lindsey Graham and the rest of the loudmouth Zionist lackeys and puppets in the United States Congress and Media. Go figure!..

Obama’s Almost First Act in Office: Spy on Americans for Israel! by Scott McConnell | The American Conservative
...Israelis have managed to persuade themselves that everyone who opposes their subjugation of the Palestinians is an “enemy” seeking to “destroy” Israel. And understandably it sees such enemies in the most dire and exaggerated terms, terms colored by the tragic history of European Jewry. And so no, I have no confidence that Israel would treat my personal or financial information with the same prudence that an American spy agency would. And I ask why the hell is the American government giving it to them.. Obama or an underling acting in Obama’s name signed an agreement to transfer Americans’ personal and private information to Israel. I am shocked and appalled, disgusted beyond measure...

Letter to a Rustic American, by Paul Balles | Veterans Today
...Zionists control the US government and the media. In July 2010 Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu said “We, the Jewish people control America, and the Americans know it.” If you have an important position in the American government or are a significant voice in public, you must do what the Israelis or their lobbyists tell you to do or the Zionists will destroy you! If you object to blind support of Israel, they will label you anti-Semitic, threaten you and cost you your job. Do you know that if you complain about Zionist influence, you will receive hate mail and threats of violence?..

We’re destroying ourselves…call it suicide by voter, by Ed Mattson | Veterans Today
...The actual approval rating of Congress by the voters is only 15 %. This means 85% of Americans disapprove of the job Congress is doing, but do they listen? Hardly! Forget one party or the other, they are all in their sewer together. To make matters worse, they are propped up by an uninformed and apathetic voter block who believe Congress, which has nearly spent the country into oblivion, has the ability to solve our nation’s problems. 90% get re-elected year after year and the idiots that continue to put them in office expect different results…That my friends is the height of stupidity!..

Shin Beth: Netanyahu in the Cross Hairs | Roi Tov
One of the most frightening moments in Gershon Salomon's life came during the trial of Yigal Amir, the alleged murderer of Prime Minister Rabin. Avishai Raviv was disclosed in Court as the agitating agent that pushed Amir to murder, he was formally code-named Agent Champagne. Soon afterwards, pictures of Avishai Raviv filled the Hebrew media. In one of them, the Shin Beth agent is seen walking behind Gershon Salomon, his hand on Salomon's shoulder. The other hand of the agitator was on Itamar Ben Gvir's shoulder. It was an entrapment picture by the Shin Beth, which likes to work in a fashion known as "a friend brings a friend."..

Understanding Shadows: The Corrupt Use of Intelligence | Clarity Press
Vague references to the ‘war on terror’ and the ‘threat to national security’ are frequently used by venal politicians to cover-up criminal associations and covert illegal activity, ranging from money-laundering, narcotics trafficking, abduction and murder to the wholesale slaughter of non-combatant civilians.  Their detritus is glibly dismissed or erased from mainstream media coverage of state terror around the world. But an awareness of what intelligence agencies are doing in the shadows is necessary if we are ever to grasp the true reality of momentous public events we wrongly think we understand...

America’s Ridiculous Position on Syria, by John Chuckman | Intifada Palestine
I read that an American Senator, Bob Menendez, wanted “to vomit” when he was supplied with a copy of Vladimir Putin’s New York Times’ op-ed piece about Syria. Well, I’m sure it wasn’t just a matter of Sen. Menendez’s delicate stomach: there have been many times in the past I wanted to vomit over something in The New York Times. It is, after all, an impossibly pretentious, often-dishonest publication faithfully serving America’s military-industrial-intelligence complex, one which never fails to support America’s countless wars, insurgencies, dirty tricks, and coups – all this while publicly flattering itself as a rigorous source of journalism and even a newspaper “of record.”..

Two-State Illusion, by Ian Lustick | NYT
The last three decades are littered with the carcasses of failed negotiating projects billed as the last chance for peace in Israel. All sides have been wedded to the notion that there must be two states,.. one Palestinian and one Israeli. For more than 30 years, experts and politicians have warned of a “point of no return.” Secretary of State John Kerry is merely the latest in a long line of well-meaning American diplomats wedded to an idea whose time is now past.
[The sobriquet ‘Jew York Times’ is apropos. But, to give credit where it's due, they do occasionally publish pieces like this amidst the far more numerous Zionist screeds.]

The Money Masters: The Role of Foreign Banks in US History (Film Review) | Veterans Today
The Money Masters provides a comprehensive outline of the role of the international banking cartel in hijacking America’s so-called “democratic” government. Referring to them as “moneychangers” (a New Testament reference), Still explores the key role international banksters have played in deliberately creating depressions and panics, instigating US wars, and assassinating presidents who sought to curtail their power. Understanding how money is created in the US and other capitalist countries is essential in grasping this historical perspective...

Beyond Tribal Loyalties, by Avigail Abarbanel: Book review by Hatim Kanaaneh | Palestine Chronicle
...All around, sanity is ebbing fast. So it was no small matter for me to find a refreshing reservoir of lucidity in the midst of the mass mania. I chose to retreat from the raucous media incitement to this humble attempt at collective enlightenment initiated and overseen by my psychotherapist friend Avigail Abarbanel. The war mentality reigning all around us lent a sense of unreality to the straightforward 25 individual accounts of awakening to the lure of peace, justice and equality in Palestine/Israel...
[Avigail asked me to contribute, but I had to be honest – I never fell under the tribal spell, even as a little kid, so I didn't fit the format. I owe this good fortune to my mother, RIP.]

The Shortest Path to Peace in Syria, by Nicola Nasser | Palestine Chronicle
Because “defensive alliances which have fixed and limited objectives are often more durable,” the “Syria-Iran alliance has survived” more than three decades of unwavering and insistent US – led military, economic, diplomatic and media campaign to dismantle it, but it is still enduring “because it has been primarily defensive in nature” and “aimed largely at neutralizing … Israeli capabilities and preventing American encroachment in the Middle East.”..

Lessons from Libya: How Not to Intervene, by Alan Kuperman | Harvard/Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs
..NATO's action magnified the conflict's duration about sixfold and its death toll at least sevenfold, while also exacerbating human rights abuses, humanitarian suffering, Islamic radicalism, and weapons proliferation in Libya and its neighbors. If Libya was a "model intervention," then it was a model of failure...

Turkish prosecutors indict Syrian rebels for seeking chemical weapons | RT News
A court indictment by the Turkish prosecutors into the alleged use of chemical weapons by the Syrian rebels has once again highlighted fears this week that sarin toxic gas was used by the opposition and not the Assad government. The prosecutor in the Turkish city of Adana has issued a 132-page indictment, alleging that six men of the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front and Ahrar ash-Sham tried to seek out chemicals with the intent to produce the nerve agent, sarin gas, a number of Turkish publications reported...

Kerry Mumbles, Netanyahu is Mute | Roi Tov
One of the surprises awaiting foreigners arriving at the USA is the obvious obsession of Americans with sport. Sports Illustrated is clearly more valuable than the Constitution. Sport is so significant there that the USA leads the all-time Olympic Games medal table, despite it having less than 5% of the world's population. Yet, there are several good reasons for the Olympic Charter to claim "The Olympic Games are competitions between athletes in individual or team events and not between countries.".. sports competitions among them are nothing but slightly disguised wild nationalism promoted by the Lords of War...

US Caught in Sarin Terror Plot, by Gordon Duff | Veterans Today
...Reports, with limited confirmation, detail how Al Nusra/Al Qaeda forces inside Syria had kidnapped children from occupied regions to use as “victims” of a staged false-flag attack meant to bring the US into the Syrian conflict. Children were said to have been smothered and laid out to be photographed and filmed with video cameras. The scene was said to resemble the “Crisis Actor” operations the US Department of Homeland Security has staged, simulating terror attacks for training purposes. By coincidence, these theatrical contracting firms have been on the scene of several real disasters, the Boston Marathon bombing, the Sandy Hook shootings and most infamously, the 7/7 London bomb attacks...

Obama’s Perverse Priorities, by Ralph Nader | CounterPunch
...Our country’s misguided foreign policy has caused our president to spend enormous time and influence enlisting allies, members of Congress, and figuring out the many risks of another protracted unlawful war-quagmire in the Middle East. Imagine how much time our president could spend on our country’s many domestic problems. Let’s take the easy ones first...

Obama treachery: War crimes, Syrian atrocities and WWIII, by Jim Fetzer | Veterans Today
...Even in the face of more and more proof that the gas attacks were made by the rebels and that Kerry and Obama have been lying to the American people, US soldiers stationed at Ft. Hood have just received orders to deploy to Syria. And leaked documents have provided additional proof that it was the rebels who used sarin gas and not the Syrian government, where the evidence that John Kerry and Barack Obama have been lying to us has become simply overwhelming:..

Yom Kippur, War and the Power Of Deterrence | Gilad Atzmon
Today is Yom Kippur and the 40th anniversary of the 1973 Arab–Israeli (Yom Kippur) War. That war caught Israel totally on the hop. In the first days of the conflict, both the IDF and the IAF were defeated and humiliated. Moshe Dayan, the legendary Israeli defence minister, contemplated out loud the ‘destruction of the 3rd Temple’ and, according to different intelligence sources, Israel was close to using its ‘Samson option’ - a nuclear strike against Egypt...

What is and what isn’t remembered on Yom Kippur, by Adam Keller | Crazy Country
Afternoon , Friday, 13 September 2013. The eve of Yom Kippur . In the street outside the sound of the last cars is diminishing to silence. In a few hours we would hear the happy cries of children racing their bicycles in the center of the road. This is the secular Israeli Yom Kippur which has nothing to do with any Jewish tradition and no parallel in any Jewish community outside this country.  It came about accidentally...

‘Israel Wants Peace. Period.’ (Just Joking!), by William A. Cook | MCW News
...On May 14, 1948 President Harry S. Truman received a letter from the Jewish Agency for Palestine announcing the impending proclamation of the independent republic of Israel (Harry S. Truman Library, document filed August 22, 1949).[i] That date marks not only the beginning of the State of Israel but, sub missa voce, the assumption by the State of Israel of the calculated, systematic and determined ethnic cleansing of the indigenous population of the land of Palestine that had been the business of “The Consultancy” and its agents before May 14, as identified by Dr. Ilan Pappe in his monumental The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine...

Empire, Hypocrisy and Deflection, by Missy Beattie | CounterPunch
...I began this article on Monday, after seeing a few of the videos the White House was thumbs-upping to manipulate Congress, justifying whatever a “limited” strike on Syria means. The images of sarin-gassed children and adults, writhing in agony, and close ups of the victims’ eyes are graphic, chilling. The scene of shrouded cadavers is special effect-ed gruesomely with an opaque-like iciness reminiscent of Jeffrey Dahmer’s freezer. As you watch this one, you’ll hear that the video was “compiled” by the CIA, at the request of Sen. Diane Feinstein. Beware the CIA’s involvement. Beware Feinstein’s. Be especially wary when the two are coupled...

Tale of Two Cities: Ramallah, Gaza and the Identity Crisis, by Ramzy Baroud | Palestine Chronicle
The distance between Gaza and Ramallah in sheer miles is hardly significant. But in actuality, both cities represent two different political realities, with inescapable cultural and socioeconomic dimensions. Their geopolitical horizons are vastly different as well – Gaza is situated within its immediate Arab surroundings and turmoil, while Ramallah is westernized in too many aspects to count. In recent years, the gap has widened like never before.. The fragmentation of Palestinian identity will not cease, but will intensify, if a third way that is born out of the collective will of Palestinians, is not introduced to Palestinian society and advocated with unwavering resolve...

Syrian Complexities and the Geopolitical Context, by Zaakir Ahmed Mayet | Palestine Chronicle
The world seems to be spiraling out of control. As murder, death and wanton destruction becomes the order of the day; these realities are demonstrated in Syria. The mass slaughter occurring within the borders of Syria appeals to the humanitarian in most, except for those that seek to rain cruise missile democracy upon the Syrian populous. Yet the Syrian issue poses a far more complex challenge in terms of decryption than the situations in Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen, Pakistan or even Afghanistan for that matter...

The Israeli Regime Largely Controls the NSA and America, by Jonas E. Alexis | Veterans Today
...How is it that Western countries in general universally fall into this double standard by pressing more sanctions on Iran and no sanctions on Israel, when the latter is an enemy of America and much of the West? How is it that countries like Spain are planning to make “Holocaust studies obligatory,” leaving the impression that the Nazi “Holocaust” is unique? How is it that the neo-Bolsheviks/Zionists keep living in contradiction by saying that the Holocaust is unique but in the same breath invoke the same Holocaust story to invade other nations?..

Syria: Today’s Update

The guided-missile cruiser Moskva, the destroyer Smetlivy and the assault landing ship Nikolai Filchenkov are on their way to join Russia’s naval task force already stationed in the Mediterranean, the Russian Navy’s commander-in-chief Viktor Chirkov announced...

While the Syrian regime’s alleged use of chemical weapons is a criminal act if true, and deserving of prosecution before the International Criminal Court–let’s not all become moral hypocrites on the subject.  Most major military powers have chemical weapons.  Some have even used them.  Among the more commonly known are Saddam’s use against his Iranian enemies during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.  He also used them against the Kurds in Halabja.. the U.S. too has a rich history of using chemical agents in war...

America’s terrorist friends massacre both Christians and Alevis in Syria. These massacres were confirmed by Italian journalist Comenico Quirico and the Belgian journalist Pierre Piccinin, hostages who were released on Sunday, September 8, 2013 for ransom. Both confirmed that they had listened to a conversation between a commander of the so called Free Syrian Army and their kidnappers in which they said that the rebels had perpetrated the poison attack in the outskirts of Damascus.. Why don't the mainstream media report about the statements of the both journalist, whereas they make a big fuss about every victim that goes to the account of Assad's troops?..

At the height of the war scare here in early September, a group nine primarily Sunni, Christian, and Alawite students and activists, led by a charismatic and agnostic pro-Hezbollah Lebanese Shia woman from Hermel in Lebanon’s North Bekaa Valley, set up a Human Shields and Observers camp to protect the Syrian TV channels, radio, and communication towers situated at the crest of Mount Qasioun, which rises up 1,151 meters (3,776 ft) at its crest. The small community has the air of a sit-in as well as a teach-in. Within a few days, their numbers exceeded 200, and at weeks end the “Ala agsadona” (“over our dead bodies”) website was hosting thousands of visitors every day...

...American Exceptionalism and Zionism are two peas in a pod although the dynamics are different, as Zionism has at its kernel the racist idea that Jews are chosen by God, a concept that appears throughout the Old Testament. In contrast, the New Testament with Jesus as its focus is a complete repudiation of such an idea, which was at one time one of the faith’s biggest appeals. Many Christian denominations have forgotten about this, particularly those that exalt Israel, but these are likely those who have forgotten Christ’s message and the New Testament in general...

The overwhelming opposition of the American people to President Obama’s bid to start another U.S. war — this one against Syria — helps light the darkness under which we are living. It is refreshing that the American people did not engage in a knee-jerk “defer to authority and bomb them” response to the president’s call for war, not even when the interventionist crowd brought up its old tried-and-true arguments for another war of aggression — e.g., patriotism, credibility, national security, appeasement, Hitler, WMDs, etc..

The Constitution did not keep President Obama from attacking Syria. The people did. Think about that.. Public-opinion polls showed at once that most of us do not want Obama to commit an act of war against Syria. Furthermore, the people inundated Congress with calls and emails. Because of this (and in some cases personal conviction), most members of Congress also do not want war with Syria. Obama got the message: he was heading for sure defeat in the House of Representatives and perhaps in the Senate. He couldn’t bear the prospect of rebuff...

The lobby is reeling. Reports from Capitol Hill reveal that AIPAC’s big lobbying day for war with Syria changed no votes. Not one. AIPAC’s entire lobbying effort is about Iran. It cares about the well-being of the Syrian people as much as it does about the people of Gaza. That is, not at all. No, AIPAC joined the battle to win Congressional approval because resolving the Syria crisis through any means other than war would set a terrible precedent for Iran: resolving the Iran nuclear issue diplomatically...

...As the evidence suggests, the goal of the U.S. is not now, nor has it ever been, to produce ‘good’ outcomes—it is to dominate and control. This is the history into which Mr. Obama’s plans to bomb Syria fits.. Should the U.S. continue to base foreign policy on the neo-con playbook we deserve what we get. The tragedy will be the death and misery caused the victims of imperial hubris, not the chaotic end of the U.S. imperial project...

The Top Ten Reasons Why Israel Should Be Bombed Back to the Stone Age, by Yukon Jack | Veterans Today
#10. Control of Western nations and the media. I am tired of having every channel on the boob tube play the same boring Zionist propaganda. If Israel disappeared then we wouldn’t have to listen to the media whine about Iran, Iran, Iran all day long. Every presidential speech is the same nowadays, “My fellow Americans, today I have authorized the bombing of bumfuckistan”..
[But it’s so convenient to have so much evil concentrated in one place. Where would it go if we didn’t have Israel? NIMBY!]

Stop Blaming Colonial Borders for the Middle East's Problems, by Nick Danforth | The Atlantic
...The idea that better borders, drawn with careful attention to the region’s ethnic and religious diversity, would have spared the Middle East a century’s worth of violence is especially provocative at a moment when Western powers weigh the merits of intervention in the region. Unfortunately, this critique overstates how arbitrary today’s Middle East borders really are, overlooks how arbitrary every other border in the world is, implies that better borders were possible, and ignores the cynical imperial practices that actually did sow conflict in the region...

Give me Logic or Give me Terror, by Moti Nissani | Veterans Today
...This sixth and final posting of “A Bird’s Eye View of Contrived Terror” furnishes additional grounds for believing that most 21st century incidents of terror in the USA have been acts of state.  Two views on the origins of terror compete for our attention.  The official view traces terror to marginal movements and individuals, whereas the dissident view traces terror to the men in the shadows (bankers and their subordinates in the corporate, military, and intelligence worlds)..

The People Against the 800 Pound Gorilla. by Jean Bricmont and Diana Johnstone | CounterPunch

Syria: Today’s Update

Recent events surrounding Syria have prompted me to speak directly to the American people and their political leaders. It is important to do so at a time of insufficient communication between our societies...

  1. “I possess the authority to order military strikes.” ~ No you don’t, Mr. President. Only Congress has the authority to declare war, and ordering military strikes would be a clear act of war, thus violating the Constitution. It would also violate the War Powers Act, which says that the President can’t engage in hostilities without a declaration of war or specific Congressional authorization unless there is “a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.” And Syria has done no such thing...

...there is nothing new under the sun when it comes to making compelling arguments about what today might be termed national security. There is in today’s world no Carthage to serve as a counterpoint to America’s new Rome, but in a nation where corruption enabled by the art of lobbying has become so refined that interest groups are able to dominate the political discourse the real enemy is internal...
[Right on the mark, sir.]

A newly-discovered document of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency revealed Monday by Foreign Policy magazine shows that the U.S. agency had decisive evidence dating back to at least the 1980s that Israel had a stockpile of chemical and biological weapons...

The alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria thrusts the international spotlight onto the same deadly "nerve agents" stored at Blue Grass Army Depot in Madison County...
[Why not just ship the stuff to Israel. Everything else that is unspeakable and “Made in the USA” winds up there, so there’s ample precedent.]

The first propaganda wave to get U.S. citizen support for regime change in Syria was based on the usual nonsense of "democracy" and "freedom". It took too long because domestic support for the Syrian government was much bigger than anticipated and the Syrian state would not fold. After a while real news reports about the Syrian opposition leaked out and it became obvious that the Syrian government was fighting a bunch of criminals and Jihadis. The U.S. military and U.S. citizens balked against fighting on those folks' side. A new campaign was needed and the false-flag "chemical weapon" attack in a Damascus suburb was created to launch it...

Syria has promised to sign the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and the international community is working on a deal to destroy the nation’s considerable arsenal, meaning one of the world’s last holdouts on the ban is all but on board. Hopes that this might get the rest of the holdouts to change their policy seems unlikely, however, as Israel has today insisted that Syria’s move will not change their opposition to the treaty. Technically, Israel signed the CWC in 1993 like most of the rest of the world, but it never ratified the treaty, citing Syria’s arsenal...

President Bashar al-Assad said Thursday Washington must stop arming rebels and stop threatening military force if it wanted a plan for Syria to hand over chemical weapons to work. "When we see that the United States truly desires stability in our region and stops threatening and seeking to invade, as well as stops arms supplies to terrorists then we can believe that we can follow through with the necessary processes," he told Russian television, adding that Washington should dispense with the "politics of threats."..

...the president's Syrian war proposal - itself an ever shifting target -- couldn’t be more brain-dead.  The idea that one country, on its own, has the right to missile and bomb another to resolve the question of a chemical attack and war crime should, on the face of it, seem strange to us, like the most random death-dealing response to an already horrific act.  Certainly, if done, it would have an effect; it’s just that no one has any idea what that would be, though as with so many military-first acts of the U.S. government in recent years, it already has “This Can’t Turn Out Well” scrawled all over it...

Russia has handed over its plan for putting Syria's chemical weapons under international control to the US. Meanwhile the UN Security Council’s five permanent members have held a closed-door session to discuss an effective way out of the crisis.. At the same time Russia has reportedly passed to the UN Security Council evidence of Syrian rebels being behind the use of chemical weapons in the country...

...AP reporter Dale Gavlak reported that Syrian rebels armed with chemical agents from Saudi Arabia were responsible for the August 21 chemical weapons attack. Gavlak has also written for the BBC. On August 29, she reported "rebels and local residents in Ghouta accuse Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan of providing chemical weapons to an al-Qaida linked rebel group." Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov publicly denied the existence of evidence that Syria had used chemical weapons. Israel acknowledged that Syria was winning the war, thus indirectly acknowledging that al-Assad had no reasons to use chemical weapons. Netanyahu is openly lying...

...Just like Colin Powell before him and the conservative Republican’s Israeli firsters, John Kerry’s “irrefutable” evidence was crafted by the Democratic wings of Zionist Liberals in the dens of the Pentagon and the halls of the State Department in a made for Israel war to be executed by American soldiers and paid for by American tax payers...

NSA shares raw intelligence including Americans' data with Israel, by Glenn Greenwald et al | The Guardian
The National Security Agency routinely shares raw intelligence data with Israel without first sifting it to remove information about US citizens, a top-secret document provided to the Guardian by whistleblower Edward Snowden reveals. Details of the intelligence-sharing agreement are laid out in a memorandum of understanding between the NSA and its Israeli counterpart that shows the US government handed over intercepted communications likely to contain phone calls and emails of American citizens. The agreement places no legally binding limits on the use of the data by the Israelis...

America: Government by Treason, by Sami Jamil Jadallah | Veterans Today
I am sure you will not see this on the front page of the New York Times or the Washington Post and if that happens only to implicate and demonize Iran. The revelation by the Guardian that the US NSA routinely shares “raw Signit” with Israel is more than any decent loyal and patriotic American citizens can accept, take or justify. It is a prima facie case of “treason” committed by our American government in favor of a foreign government and country. Why jail people for “treason” when our government does it for free?..

Syria: Today’s Update

On my wall is the Daily Express front page of September 5 1945 and the words: "I write this as a warning to the world." So began Wilfred Burchett's report from Hiroshima. It was the scoop of the century. For his lone, perilous journey that defied the US occupation authorities, Burchett was pilloried, not least by his embedded colleagues. He warned that an act of premeditated mass murder on an epic scale had launched a new era of terror...

There is little doubt that Syrian rebels, including the Al Qaeda affiliate, the Jabhat Al Nusra, have been in possession of chemical weapons in Syria and have used these weapons against civilians and Syrian government forces.. The Russian government has provided a 100-page report to the United Nations showing that Syrian rebels conducted a chemical attack on Khan al-Assal in northern Syria on March 19. Russian experts concluded that the missile used by the rebels was not a standard issue device found in Syrian arsenals and, therefore, did not originate from the Syrian military...

There is proof the footage of the alleged chemical attack in Syria was fabricated, Mother Agnes Mariam el-Salib, mother superior of St. James Monastery in Qara, Syria, told RT. She says she is about to submit her findings to the UN...

As a primary backer of the Syrian government, Iran has argued vehemently against US airstrikes, warned that sectarian "fire" will spread, and that jihadi rebels may have been behind the Aug. 21 chemical weapons attack that US officials say killed more than 1,400 people near Damascus. According to leaked diplomatic correspondence, Iran has been warning Washington since July 2012 that Sunni rebel fighters have acquired chemical weapons, and called on the US to send “an immediate and serious warning” to rebel groups not to use them...

Historical analogies can be effective tools to command attention. They can also be grotesque fabrications and dangerous distortions. Each historical event has its own locale of development, its own forces, and distinctiveness. Analogy, for that reasons, can only be suggestive, never conclusive.. This awareness is not evident in such individuals as U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who has leapt at the analogy at the galvanizing moment. He wants war. The Obama administration wants war...
[Well, that was a few days ago. Obama and Kerry have failed in their appointed task. They will be hearing from their Zionist handlers about that.]

Little did your school boy chums in Hawaii, watching you race up and down the basketball court, know how prescient they were when they nicknamed you “Barry O’Bomber”. Little did your fellow Harvard Law Review editors, who elected you to lead that venerable journal, ever imagine that you could be a president who chronically violates the Constitution, federal statutes, international treaties and the separation of power at depths equal to or beyond the George W. Bush regime. Nor would many of the voters who elected you in 2008 have conceived that your foreign policy would rely so much on brute military force...

Those wonderful people who brought you The Big Mac, Mom's apple Pie, Burger King and Kentucky Fried People are at it again. And all because Binyamin Netanyahu was able to tell his partner in war crimes just what he needed to hear: The absolutely, without question, no doubt at all genuine, 100% verifiably true information, obtained by the Israeli Mossad (Motto: By Way Of Deception, Thou Shalt Do War) that Bashar al Assad was guilty of gassing his own people, in a situation where the Syrian leader knew that the United States navy was poised on his own doorstep to take action if he did anything so stupid as to gas his own people...

U.S. President Barack Obama just finished giving his much anticipated Syria War Speech and boy did it bomb. First, let’s get this straight right now. He did agree to meet with Russia and get this settled diplomatically.  So for we the global peoples, this is a huge victory for all of us. Assuming Russia can close this deal out and neutralize the warmongers in D.C. who have completely bull-shited their way into the non-cents, well, we are all winners! So bravo to Putin and bravo to Obama for seeing the light. But let’s dissect shall we!..

..From the U.S. point of view, negotiations are, in effect, a way for Israel to continue its policies of systematically taking over whatever it wants in the West Bank, maintaining the brutal siege on Gaza, separating Gaza from the West Bank and, of course, occupying the Syrian Golan heights, all with full US support. And the framework of negotiations, as in the past twenty years of the Oslo experience, has simply provided a cover for this...

...In all of the wars, conflicts, sectarian violence, and how Israel was founded, historical contex is hardly ever provided to western audiences to better understand the roots and causes of such issues.   No historical context is more deliberately ignored than the founding of Israel in Palestine. It all began during and after World War 1 when the imperial powers of England and France shaped and created a new Middle East after the defeat of the Ottoman Turks thereby creating inherent conflicts that continue this day.   After World War 2, the United States became the sole imperial power in the Middle East safeguarding both Israel and Oil flow...

Shocking details unearthed by award-winning journalist Max Blumenthal reveal a gory mix of shady PR operatives with links to Israel, behind an active push for war on Syria. This comes against the background of a humiliating personal disaster for President Obama during the recent G20 summit in Russia where his pitch for military intervention failed dismally. Along with his British counterpart whose parliament shot down PM Cameron’s single-minded determination to commit his troops for military action in Syria, Obama appeared to be deeply embarrassed by President Putin’s tough anti-war stance...

Testimonies Prove Israel Tortures Palestinian Children | Stephen Lendman
On August 22, B'Tselem headlined "Abuse and torture in interrogations of dozens of Palestinian minors in the Israel Police Etzion Facility." Family members are threatened not to intervene. McCain accused of accepting improper donations from Rothschilds  | The Guardian
A US campaign watchdog has accused presumptive Republican president nominee John McCain of violating election laws by accepting campaign contributions from two prominent Londoners. $800 Million Deal Celebrates the Day after the Defeat | Roi Tov
...In 2007, Russia and Iran signed an $800 million agreement on a S300-based air defense system. The agreement was frozen by Russia after that on June 9, 2010, the UN Security Council passed a resolution on Iranian sanctions imposing a ban on supplying Iran with tanks, military ships, combat aircraft, as well as large caliber artillery, missiles and missile systems, despite early Russian claims that the sanctions were related only to future agreements and that old ones would be respected. It is safe to assume that the Russian zigzag was the result of American pressure. The Russian bear waited three years for a proper slingshot angle...

Syria: Today’s Update
Endgame

...What was interesting was the rapidity with which the US and many other Western governments accepted without question the complicity of the Syrian government in the attack, even though no one to my knowledge has ever indicated just why that government –- which is finally winning its civil war -– would effectively snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by doing something so self-defeating, for no discernible military or political purpose.. For two decades, the US has been working its way around the Middle East, beating up on Israel’s enemies, with Syria and Iran being the two remaining outliers in late 2013...

Obama and the Zionist hordes, including Sens. Charles Schumer and Diane Feinstein, are going “all out” to promote the interests of Israel over those of the United States. Obama is going to make six appearances on television on Monday to further demonstrate his total willingness to betray the Constitution and the American people for his puppet masters. The situation has never been more clear: It is AIPAC, Israel and the traitors in our midst against the United States of America. If they lose this, then Zionism is dead–and the sooner, the better. No more wars for Israel!..

...Obama’s deceptions, the very words he mouths, are repeated and mocked. Nothing is more irritating than to have to listen to an unmasked confidence man as he still tries to bamboozle a disenchanted public. Americans are not fooled anymore. Obama’s newly recruited Cabinet members of all genders and ethnicities are viewed as mere peddlers of toxic lies trying to justify ongoing war crimes via moral ejaculations that resonate in their own echo chambers and with their President, but not very far beyond the palace grounds...

The “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) Northern Front Commander, Abdel Baset Tawileh, appeared on Qatar’s state-run al-Jazeera channel and stated that he wants future Syria to be based on Islamic Law (Sharia) and that the international community has only 1 month to supply the FSA and the other “rebel” brigades with advanced weapons so they can get rid of the secular government headed by Bashar al-Assad...

We regret to inform you that some of our former co-workers are telling us, categorically, that contrary to the claims of your administration, the most reliable intelligence shows that Bashar al-Assad was NOT responsible for the chemical incident that killed and injured Syrian civilians on August 21, and that British intelligence officials also know this. In writing this brief report, we choose to assume that you have not been fully informed because your advisers decided to afford you the opportunity for what is commonly known as “plausible denial.”..

They need a Syria as docile as the Arab petro-monarchies. They want to hit Russia bad - and then discuss missile defense and Russian influence in Eastern Europe from a position of force. They want to hit Iran bad - and then continue to issue ultimatums from a position of force. They want to facilitate yet another Israeli attempt to capture southern Lebanon (it's the water, stupid). They want a monster gas pipeline from Qatar for European customers bypassing Iran and Syria as well as Gazprom. Most of all, this is all about control of natural resources and channels of distribution...

As the Jewish Lobby (AIPAC, the Anti-Defamation League, the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and other Jewish groups) faces its first colossal defeat,  Jewish media outlets and Zionists  commentators are desperate to find a respectful way for AIPAC to ‘get off the tree’..
[It will take a great deal more than this to vitiate the strength of the ZPG (James Petras' Zionist Power Configuration), but it’s a hopeful start.]

...only the most hard line pro-Israel members of the House and Senate raised their hands to give a yes vote for an attack. A strange assortment of Republicans, Democrats, progressives and conservatives lifted their hands to defiantly vote no to an attack. Against such odds, it is rare for AIPAC, Israel’s chief Washington lobbying team, to go all out in support of a vote it was going to lose. But AIPAC must have been hearing from Tel Aviv. Israel’s government wanted that military strike...

Slowly deteriorating into oblivion, the world's largest army cannot move fast enough to cope with the immediateness of the internet. ...most of us cringe at the thought of these pusillanimous representatives and senators we have in Congress making such a decision. A collection of wealth-power seekers who have made, or are making, a personal career out of a sacred position of trust bestowed by the people in their districts or states on them… making a decision based on a canon of morality they lack! Granted that there is a minority of honorable people among those 535 folks.. fewer than a hundred, for sure; but the rest, resoundingly most people agree the nation would be better off if all burn at the stake – party affiliation inconsequential in our two-party illusory democracy...

..in a statement carried by state TV on Tuesday, Rouhani said Iran is "ready for the win-win game", but added: "The world should know that the period for solving the nuclear case will not be unlimited.. The world should take advantage of this period and the opportunity that our nation created in [my] election."..
[Will the Empire grasp this olive branch? If not now, then probably never. More likely, the Empire will continue to self-destruct at the behest of the ZioNazis, perhaps at the cost of many thousands of lives.]

Deadly chemical weapons attacks against hapless civilians is a serious consideration and demands international attention. In the Syrian civil war, there is another serious consideration that solicits equal attention. Foreign fighters from Libya, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, and what has been termed as Al-Qaeda in Iraq (foreigners who fight in Iraq), citizens from non-adjacent countries to Syria, have killed more civilians than chemical weapons attacks. The entrance of these foreign fighters into the conflict has extended the war and directly provoked the Sarin gas attacks. President Obama has overlooked a compelling option - remove the cause and the effect will not re-occur...

...Since the Muslim population in the USA is about 7 million, and the Jewish Population is estimated about 5.5 million, the question is how many “supremacist jihadis who are plotting to create a world Caliphate” have made it to the White House, Congress, Senate, and Pentagon? How many Muhammeds and Alis have been appointed as Chief of Staff in the Homeland Security Department? Let us look at “antisemitism” in the USA for example, which Abe Foxman and many in the Palestine Solidarity Movement are determined to fight and put an end to. Let us find out how rampant and how disturbing the “discrimination against Jews” is:..

Syria: Today’s Update

In making their case for urgent airstrikes against Syria, top White House officials are relying heavily on a four-page document entitled ‘Government Assessment of the Syrian Government’s Use of Chemical Weapons on August 21, 2013‘. The report contains false claims easily disproven by open sources, logical fallacies, and verifiable misreporting of intelligence. Three major flaws stand out:..

We’re witnessing the last grotesque convulsions of a dying empire. As it threatens humanity with annihilation, it’s also nauseating the still sane among us with an unending farce, as in the hypocrite Kerry declaring, “this is not the time to be silent spectators to slaughter,” but John, you lying cynic, the world has been asked to be a mute audience to American mass murder for how long now? But Johnny wants more, much more...

At the end of last year I visited the ancient Christian town of Maloula in a deep gorge in the mountains 20 miles north-west of Damascus. It has been a place of refuge for 2,000 years, its cliffs riddled with caves and its buildings clinging to towering walls of rock. It is one of the few towns in Syria where Christians are a majority and the only place where Western Aramaic, the language of Jesus, is still spoken.. Maloula's uncertain immunity from the civil war in Syria lasted for another nine months. But, at 5.40am last Wednesday...

There is nothing tragic about the Obama presidency, capable of drawing the analytical talents of a neo-Plutarch or a neo-Gibbon. This is more like a Pirandello farce, a sort of Character in Search of An Author.. The White House ''strategy'' in this crucial negotiating week boils down to this; to convince the US Congress that the United States must start a war on Syria to punish an ''evil dictator'' - once again, as bad as Hitler - for gassing children. The evidence? It's ''indisputable''..

Got to forgive Presidential and Congressional staffers for covering their ears and singing "la la la" at the top of their lungs, as everyone pretends not to be knee deep in the icky tricky sticky Syria situation. You might say Washington is in a Semi-Syrious mode right now. And a Semi-Not-So-Syrious mode. Simultaneously. Because this whole affair is riddled with enigmas and mysteries enough to make Winston Churchill spin his conundrums right off. And rumor has it, he harbored huge conundrums...

...the US has threatened to attack Iran on flimsy pretexts for 30+ years now, and it’s starting to lose its bite, but if the US attacks Syria on an equally flimsy pretext it’ll make those threats against Iran seem more realistic. Starting a whole additional war just to make the threats for the first war seem more credible seems awfully drastic, but officials seem so desperate to make the case that they’re going to throw anything and everything against the wall to see what sticks in selling the public on the conflict...

...All the prominent public figures in the world have risen to speak against the war. Everyone has spoken their mind, but the US prefers to turn a deaf ear. World public opinion has turned against the US. It’s the first time in history that America is alone. They are claiming that they are backed by ten countries. But I insist they aren’t, because the people of these countries disagree with their governments. Even the American people disagree with their government...
[In a world where the international institutions acted according to their charters there would be by now a coalition of the willing to enter Syria and put down these Takfiri savages. They belong in a cage posted with warning signs: ‘Do not attempt to feed – they will eat you instead!’]

The American people are rejecting war with Syria by margins up to 6-to-1, according to several polls. They are also burning up the telephone lines to Congress and the White house to voice their opposition. Many are writing letters to their local newspapers or calling in to talk shows, or visiting the offices of their Congressional representatives in person, as well.. It is a wonderful vindication of the people, but is it a vindication of the system? What can you say about a system that so strongly resists the very obvious and overwhelming will of the people?..

In the next few days and completely against the will of the American people, hundreds of AIPAC activists will raid the American Congress to push for a war. Nothing new in that but still, one question  bothers me: How many of these pro-war Jews have sent their own sons and daughters to serve in the American military?..

A seemingly offhand suggestion by Secretary of State John Kerry that Syria could avert an American attack by relinquishing its chemical weapons received an almost immediate welcome from Syria, Russia, the United Nations, key American allies and even some Republicans on Monday as a possible way to avoid a major international military showdown in the Syria crisis...

Contrary to the general impression in Congress and the news media, the Syria chemical warfare intelligence summary released by the Barack Obama administration Aug. 30 did not represent an intelligence community assessment.. The evidence indicates that Director of National Intelligence James Clapper culled intelligence analyses from various agencies and by the White House itself, but that the White House itself had the final say in the contents of the document. Leading members of Congress to believe that the document was an intelligence community assessment and thus represents a credible picture of the intelligence on the alleged chemical attack of Aug. 21...

..when Americans are overwhelmingly opposed to a new war being initiated by the U.S. national-security state, what better way to turn the tide than reverting to Hitler and World War II? Never mind the disastrous consequences of such notable post-World War II interventions as Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and Korea. It’s clear, at least to interventionists, that Syria’s dictator, Bashar al-Assad, is another Hitler who, unless punished for his purported use of chemical weapons, will begin conquering countries in the Middle East, work his way over to Europe, cross the Atlantic and invade Argentina, sweep northward through Central America and Mexico, and finally invade and conquer the United States...

As we approach the time that Congress will either vote to authorize this President to attack a foreign nation that is no threat to the United States, without being sanctioned through the United Nations Security Council (which is also against International Law), or Congress will take back the authority given to them in the Constitution. Either way, heads will turn. Understanding that there are those in Government and elsewhere that want to attack Syria for different reasons (many of them monetary), the President is being manipulated to accede to their demands. Calling on Congress to justify a strike on a foreign nation that will most likely have enormous repercussions...

Interview with Prof. Alexandr Dugin: What will Russia do? | Manuel Ochsenreiter
We have to see the struggle for geopolitical power as the old conflict of land power represented by Russia and sea power represented by the USA and its NATO partners. This is not a new phenomenon; it is the continuation of the old geopolitical and geostrategic struggle. The 1990s was the time of the great defeat of the land power represented by the USSR. Michail Gorbatchev refused the continuation of this struggle. This was a kind of treason and resignation in front of the unipolar world. But with President Vladimir Putin in the early years of 2000, came a reactivation of the geopolitical identity of Russia as a land power...

Hopes for a positive G20 summit crumbled today as President Obama blurted to Russia’s Vladimir Putin at a joint press appearance, “Everyone here thinks you’re a jackass.” The press corps appeared stunned by the uncharacteristic outburst from Mr. Obama, who then unleashed a ten-minute tirade at the stone-faced Russian President. “Look, I’m not just talking about Snowden and Syria,” Mr. Obama said. “What about Pussy Riot? What about your anti-gay laws? Total jackass moves, my friend.”..

"Holocaust Basement" Hits Africans | Roi Tov
...Israel likes to remind at every opportunity the ethnic discrimination against Jews enforced by the Nazi regime. Hypocritically, it invariably forgets to mention American concentration camps for Japanese, German and Italians who had American citizenship during the same period. Zyklon B is evil; Agent Orange is goooood! Hypocritically, it invariably forgets to mention Israeli similar tactics against the army of African workers keeping Israel running and clean.. Israel's Ministry of Health acknowledged that it forced the illegitimate, brutally savage, nonconsensual sterilization of Ethiopian women who were Israeli citizens. "Black is ugly," Netanyahu says, and Israel applauds...

The Americans’ awakening against Israel’s hemorrhaging of their tax dollars | Redress Information & Analysis
“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.” This quote, attributed to Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, is coming true. It is coming to haunt the US Zionist lobby and its hemorrhaging of Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars to prop up the apartheid state of Israel while Americans become destitute and America’s infrastructure falls apart...\

Syria: Today’s Update
Hurry Up And Wait

You liked the Gulf of Tonkin incident and the Vietnam War, the Kuwaiti incubators and the first Gulf War, the Racak massacre and the war in Kosovo, Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction and the second Gulf War and the threats to Benghazi and the Libyan war? You will just love the gassing of civilians in Ghouta and the bombing of Syria...

...Makovsky also notes the increased cooperation between U.S. and Israeli intelligence. This is actually quite ominous given that Israel is the source of the evidence for Assad’s use of chemical weapons (see previous link). Given the disastrous role of Israeli intelligence in promoting the WMD myth in the run-up to the Iraq war, a close relationship with Israeli intelligence is not what one wants to hear as we march off to yet another war...

...How softly they speak, these civilized men, in respectful damnation of a neighbor tangled in a web of western intrigue to dismember the Syrian state while they, the lackeys of the Zionist government, hide the four hundred mile wall that incarcerates the Palestinians, the network of hundreds of checkpoints that ensures no free movement even within their own land, robs the people of the taxes they paid to help the poverty that stifles them.. confident that they carry the seal of impunity of the American Congress for crimes against humanity for their barbaric behavior...

This observer judges that the Persians, whose bright, articulate students are well known internationally, and with whom he has been honored to discuss international politics on several occasions, may well have met their intellectual match in the Syrian Arabs. This assessment is based on what is happening among the people in Damascus, not just in the universities and schools, but during impromptu “marketplace of ideas” sessions that are increasingly taking place in the streets and in coffee houses and places of public gathering...
[The world prepares for the attack of the Golem (aka the USA)]

...Turning to the chemical weapons issue, the allegations against the Assad regime in Syria and the West’s threats of punitive action, foreign secretary William Hague misled the country when he stated.. “This is the first use of chemical warfare in the 21st century. It has to be unacceptable, we have to confront something that is a war crime, something that is a crime against humanity.”.. Hague knows, or should do, that white phosphorus was used by Israel against the densely-packed civilian population of Gaza in 2008/9. We didn’t hear him or Cameron or Burt urging punitive strikes against Tel Aviv...

At a Town Hall meeting a Syrian woman who lost a member of her family at the hands of the U.S. backed Syrian rebels that would benefit from a U.S. strike against Syria, one that AZ Senator John McCain supports, rips into him about spilling more Syrian blood...

...Presidents know that Americans want to believe that their military actions are “right”—morally justified, if you will. So Obama knows he’s tapping into something powerful. However, there is a lot of loose talk about what it means to use military force in a “moral” way. Indeed much of what is passed off as moral justifications for using military force for humanitarian purposes is intellectually shallow and deeply contradictory—as if there mere mention of “acting” or “doing something” settles the matter. So what of the moral argument for action against Syria? Is it convincing? Or mere folly?..

While seeking authority for a limited war with Syria, the Obama administration withheld from the American people the U.S. intelligence on the alleged chemical weapons attack of Aug. 21, amid assurances that Congress got all the secret details. But that doesn’t appear to be true...

The issue of Syria has demonstrated the massive gap that has opened up between the elite and ordinary people in both the US and Britain. Poll after poll after poll shows very large majorities against strikes on Syria. People are war-weary, and the last thing they want is for their countries to become embroiled in another Middle-East war. One Congressman in the US tweeted earlier this week that he had asked 200 people if they supported strikes on Syria and only four said 'Yes'- that's just 2 percent. Another said that 99 percent of calls to his office were against military action...

During the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Syria on September 3, Secretary of State John Kerry and Senator John McCain both cited a Wall Street Journal editorial by Elizabeth O’Bagy to support their assessment of the Syrian rebels as predominately “moderate,” and potentially Western-friendly. “She works with the Institute of War,” Kerry said of O’Bagy.. Until today, O’Bagy had failed to note her role as a paid Syrian opposition lobbyist...

...Putin has made a profound contribution to world peace and international security by skillfully navigating the G20 event to a forceful moment in marshaling the international opinion on Syria, which has apparently compelled Obama to open his mind to new ideas that can serve American concerns with regard to Syria’s chemical weapons stockpiles but without having to unleash the dogs of war for that purpose. Putin disclosed that he and Obama «agreed on some possible scenarios designed to settle this crisis peacefully» and the two foreign ministers «will be in touch in the near future to discuss this very sensitive issue»..

The nine Latin American states (ALBA) condemned any possible aggression against Syria and announced dispatching humanitarian aids to the Syrian refugees in Lebanon. "The Bolivarian alliance council in American denounces any possible strike against Syria," ALBA Secretary General said in a statement from Venezuela...

...Will Congress and the American public buy the White House lie that they must support war criminals and liars or “America will lose face”? The Obama regime’s lies are so transparent and blatant that the cautious, diplomatic President Putin of Russia lost his patience and stated the fact that we all already know: John Kerry is a liar. Putin said: “This was very unpleasant and surprising for me. We talk to them [the Americans], and we assume they are decent people, but he [Kerry] is lying and he knows that he is lying. This is sad.”..

The BBC’s Zionism laid bare | Redress Information & Analysis
The BBC, Britain’s state broadcaster, has gone rogue – more so than the norm for this rather sick behemoth. On 31 August we reported that the BBC News website’s Middle East editor, Raffi Berg, had asked his staff to belittle Israel’s aggression on Gaza. Just a day later the corporation over-reached itself once again with its zeal for Zionism and Israel...

Israel: King Hussein was our Agent | Roi Tov
...On September 25, 1973, Jordan’s King Hussein (code name "Eitan," "strong" in Hebrew) met in Israel with Prime Minister Meir (code name "Malachi," "my angel." In 1948, her code had been "Pazit," roughly "golden," in her contacts with Hussein's grandfather, Abdullah). This meeting was disclosed already in 1988, but much of its content was kept secret until now. The Agranat Report had described the government as a passive intelligence consumer, innocent of any wrong doing. Now, it was published that King Hussein met Golda after meeting Egypt's Anwar Sadat, Syria's Hafez Assad and the Saudi King Faisal. He brought reports of his agents within the Syrian army..

Disarm Israel of nuclear weapons: an Israeli breaks a taboo | Redress Information & Analysis
So much energy and propaganda has been invested by Israel and its stooges and pimps around the world regarding the supposed danger posed by Iran’s nuclear programme and the need to bomb Iran that two very obvious options have been ignored – deliberately. However, one Israeli academic has plucked up the courage to spell them out: a nuclear-free Middle East – in effect, Israel’s nuclear disarmament, since Israel is the only state in the Middle East bristling with nuclear weapons – and ending the occupation...

Syria: Today’s Update
Through the Looking Glass

The bets are that Putin has the ace of truth, and the West is bluffing on an empty, bogus hand. If Washington proceeds with its unilateral military plans against Syria, it will be damned openly and fully with the supreme crime of aggression...

...the reactionary tendency in American political life over the course of the last decade or so is consistent in its adherence to irresponsible means in the pursuit irresponsible ends. It appears that the real selling point for the looming attack on Syria is not for the sake of the Syrians, but to warn the leadership of Iran that it is next on the White House hit list unless it soon surrenders to Washington’s demands, echoing those more stridently made by Israel. Is this what global leadership of the United States has come to mean? To let adversaries be reminded that the global bully means business...

UN chief Ban Ki-moon has made an impassioned plea against military action in Syria, warning that it could spark further sectarian violence in a country already suffering from a humanitarian crisis "unprecedented" in recent history. Speaking at a humanitarian meeting hosted by Britain on the sidelines of the G20 summit on Friday, Ban called on world powers to put aside their differences over the Syrian conflict, and to take concerted action to get desperately needed aid to the population. "I must warn that ill-considered military action could cause serious and tragic consequences, and with an increased threat of further sectarian violence," Ban said...
[If this toady for the Empire speaks against American policy, then we’re looking at something new, mayhap a paradigm shift.]

Israeli citizens were not impressed by experts telling them that there is only a “low probability” of a Syrian attack on Israel in retaliation for an American assault. The demand for gas masks immediately jumped up, and there was revealed again what was already known – that the government had not taken care to provide enough masks for all Israeli citizens. Personally, I did not join the race. After all, since the end of the First World War nobody in the world has used chemical weapons against an enemy who could respond in kind...

...Although 189 nations, including the United States, are parties to the CWC, it doesn’t follow that the United States has been anointed to enforce it. In fact, U.S. action against Syria would in itself violate international law, which permits the use of force by one government against another only in self-defense or as part of a UN-authorized action. Neither applies in this case.. Because the gruesome images of children and other noncombatants killed and wounded allegedly by Bashar al-Assad’s chemical weapons constitute a powerful part of Obama’s appeal for public support for his missile strike, it pays to take a close look at the U.S. record on chemical weapons...

...Perhaps the worst single clause in it was a reaffirmation of the illegal power Obama claims he has to bomb Syria without congressional approval: ‘the President has authority under the Constitution to use force in order to defend the national security interests of the United States.’ No such authority exists — except in self-defense — and the vague term ‘national security interests’ hardly meets that standard...

Lakhdar Brahimi, the joint United Nations-Arab League envoy to Syria, has said that no state can "take the law into their own hands" and conduct military action against Syria without prior UN Security Council approval. Brahimi was speaking on the sidelines of the G20 summit in St Petersburg on Friday, after meetings with foreign ministers including Russia's Sergei Lavrov, who said many nations realise that striking Syria without Security Council backing would scuttle the chances of reaching a political solution...

In the lead-up to the Iraq War, I researched, wrote and circulated a document to members of Congress which explored unanswered questions and refuted President Bush's claim for a cause for war. The document detailed how there was no proof Iraq was connected to 9/11 or tied to al Qaeda's role in 9/11, that Iraq neither had WMDs nor was it a threat to the U.S., lacking intention and capability to attack. Unfortunately, not enough members of Congress performed due diligence before they approved the war. Here are some key questions which President Obama has yet to answer...

Despite the Obama administration’s supposedly “high confidence” regarding Syrian government guilt over the Aug. 21 chemical attack near Damascus, a dozen former U.S. military and intelligence officials are telling President Obama that they are picking up information that undercuts the Official Story...

As President Obama announces plans for another war, adding Syria to the ongoing and recent wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen and elsewhere, a profound gap has emerged between the highly militarized state and US public opinion...

...They called on Congress “with great urgency to authorize the President to use force in Syria ‘in connection with the use of chemical weapons or other weapons of mass destruction,’ as outlined in his August 31st draft legislation. “Through this act, Congress has the capacity to save thousands of lives,” the letter said. The authors noted that the letter was timed for before the Days of Awe between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur...

...Adelson Dollar Disorder [ADD]—the proclivity of Republican politicians (Newt Gringrich is the prototype) to worship at the altar of Adelson’s money which is mainly directed at supporting the most aggressive, racialist, and nationalist elements in Israel. Cleburne also points out that Adelson is an exemplar of the hypocrisy and double standards between policies advocated for Israel, where Adelson favors an impregnable border fence and deportation of illegals, versus the U.S. where he favors amnesty and no deportation...

Informed insiders have confirmed that Syria and Hezbollah plan to retaliate against Israel in the event of an American-led military attack on Syria. Says one: “if even one US missile hits Syria, we will take this battle to Israel.”..

...Netanyahu's government has cast aside all concerns that if the ruling regime in the neighboring country is overthrown, even fiercer opponents of Israel may come to power, and it is advocating as powerful a strike as possible against Syria. Behind the missile launches held by the Israeli navy in conjunction with the Americans in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea on September 3 stand geopolitical reckonings connected mainly with the future of the Syrian Golan Heights, occupied in 1967; it is no accident that the question of their ownership has remained in the shadow of the discussion on Syria...

New reports based on evidence have emerged to identify the Georgian government as recruiter and trainer of Chechen terrorists to destabilize Russia. According to these credible new allegations, the Georgian government recruited and trained Chechens to take part in Islamist militant movements. The Western think-tank, NGOs and media sourced reports may in fact provide Obama and his Neocon entourage with a perfect bone to offer Russia on the intended aggression war on Syria...

Lobbying on Syria has inspired coalitions of the unlikely, aligning President Barack Obama with Sheldon Adelson, the Republican billionaire who spent about $70 million trying to defeat him last year, in the push for a military response to the use of chemical weapons...
[Obama allied with the likes of Adelson, Senators McCain and Lindsey Graham; many Congress critters showing signs of rational thought and the courage to stand up to Zionist pressure – will wonders never cease.]

...the War Remnants Museum sticks out due to the nature of its exhibition. Americans avoided it, I run out after seeing a few deformed fetuses kept in giant jars. The unborn babies were the lucky victims of the American chemical attack with Agent Orange. The unlucky victims spent their days crawling on the streets asking for alms. American governments have always claimed that their vicious chemical attacks didn't violate the Chemical Weapons Convention since Agent Orange is technically a defoliant. The text quoted in the footnotes, belongs to one of the most widely accepted international conventions, and shows that the claim can be considered neither valid nor serious...

American public opinion, indeed public opinion throughout the West, demanded action. Obama has spoken, so Obama must act. Otherwise he would confirm the image he has in many places. The image of a wimp, a weakling, a coward, a talker who is not a doer. This would hurt his ability to achieve anything even in matters far removed from Damascus – the economy, health care, the climate. The man has indeed talked himself into a corner. The need to act has become paramount. A politician’s nightmare. Poor Obama...

As the Syrian guns of war propaganda heats up.. the clearly anti Syrian intervention American public (90% against) finds itself once again ignored and obviously lied to, coerced and manipulated by the Obama administration’s imperialistic agenda which is determined to have its way ~ and all of this set against the 12th anniversary backdrop of the Bush/Cheney administration’s mother of all lies ~ the 9/11 official story:..

For the first time in modern history, in the open, the Jewish Lobby together with the Jewish State are pushing for a war that can easily escalate into a global conflict. Yet, I am slightly perplexed, as to whether these warmongers grasp what could be the consequences of such a war: do these Jewish campaigners really want to bear responsibility for the death of many innocent people? Can’t they see that they pressure the American Congress to act against the will of the American people? Are they still concerned with antisemitism, because their acts can bring total disaster on their fellow Jews...

...And that is why AIPAC should win. If it doesn’t and if the Members of Congress who voted “no” are re-elected anyway, then the #1 tool AIPAC has going for it will be broken.   Barack, can’t we go back to the old days?  You entered our lives telling us you weren’t interested in joining the family business.  But now you’re the “Don.”  Michael Corleone, like Barack Obama, was at first disgusted by the world he lived in.  He wanted to change it, to improve it.  But once he committed his first crime, he became immersed in the world he had vowed to reject.  As time went on, violence became the language of negotiation, murder became justifiable, and the morality he once stood for was lost...

Syria: Today's Update
The muddle before the storm,
Or the muffling of the war drums?

Something remarkable has happened. The New York Times, the most influential newspaper in the United States, has published a photo on its front page on Thursday that may be able to prevent the attack on Syria. The photo shows how seven soldiers of the Syrian Army, who were caught by the terrorists, are kneeling on the ground and have their hands tied to the back while they are waiting for their execution. All soldiers have terrible wounds on their backs and arms. Behind them on the photo are exactly the guys, which the United States supports and supplies with weapons...

In a stern tone, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the West on Wednesday not to indulge any one-sided military action against Syria amid increasing fears that Washington is preparing to put this sinister idea into practical shape in cahoots with regional puppet regimes...

Among the many questions the Obama administration has been unable or unwilling to answer regarding its plans for military strikes in Syria is what happens if Congress refuses to authorize the use of force. It’s a question that should be answered before, not after, a vote occurs in Congress, because it will clarify whether lawmakers are now engaged in the binding decision-making process required by the Constitution, or whether they are merely being used to lend an air of domestic legitimacy to military action that would violate international law...

Days later and we still have no idea where Secretary of State John Kerry got that amazingly precise number of 1,429 killed in the alleged Syria chemical agent attack. He hasn’t cited full sourcing for it or taken questions on that. He merely claims he can’t say because it would “compromise” intelligence, which sounds like utter bull. President Obama also cited the death toll as fact in public statements beating the drums for war...
[Sounds a bit like the iconic '”6,000,000 Jews,” but with the BS number dragged out to the last digit to lend it more ‘truthiness.’]

For the first time through the two-year old Syrian conflict, the United States has mentioned the holy cow – «boots on the ground». The Secretary of State John Kerry has pleaded that the US Congress should approve the use of American ground troops although the Obama administration may not intend to take recourse to such action. This is a hugely significant turning point in the fast-developing scenario of US military intervention in Syria...

...we were lied into war once before with slapped-together bogus "intelligence," and so the public is wary – and so is Congress, and much of the media, albeit not for the same reasons. Congress is wary because of the polls – no one wants to own this one. As for the media: they, too, are taking it slow, writing articles about how everyone has "learned the lesson of Iraq." But their version of that "lesson" has little to do with the "intelligence" we’re being given that’s supposed to justify this latest Crusade for Truth, Justice, and the American Way...

U.S. policy towards Syria is bafflingly inconsistent. If U.S. leaders are so concerned about regimes slaughtering thousands of their own people, did they notice what just happened in Egypt? If they are so exercised over about weapons of mass destruction, are they aware that Israel has two hundred nuclear warheads, with delivery systems? Will American warships in the region be making those other stops on their liberating mission? Most puzzling of all, though, is why the United States seems so determined to eradicate Christianity in one of its oldest heartlands, at such an agonizingly sensitive historical moment...

Edward Herman and Noam Chomsky gained much notoriety from their seminal book, Manufacturing Consent..  The central thesis of that book – that political and media elites construct propaganda narratives in order to build support for U.S. foreign policy – remains as relevant today as ever.  Obama’s proposed intervention in Syria is a case in point.  Public support for military action remains quite low – ranging from between one-quarter to one-third of Americans according to recent polls.  That’s likely to change in coming weeks to months as the administration ramps up its pro-intervention rhetoric, and as political elites, reporters, and media pundits uncritically repeat and embrace his messages...

A couple of weeks ago, in a dress rehearsal for her next presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton, the doyenne of humanitarian interventionism, made a pit-stop at the Carlyle Group to brief former luminaries of the imperial war rooms about her shoot-first-don’t-ask-questions foreign policy. For those of you who have put the playbill of the Bush administration into a time capsule and buried it beneath the compost bin, the Carlyle Group is essentially a hedge fund for war-making and high tech espionage...

After yesterday’s 10-7 committee vote set the stage for a tight vote in the Senate about the Syrian War, the issue may end up entirely academic, as ABC News is the first to call it, and based on the public comments the war is headed for a defeat in the House of Representatives...

At this point in time when an overt US military attack on Syria appear certain, it could be interesting to look at the choice of options President Obama has, how the Resistance could respond, and how then the US Empire would react to that.  But before looking into this, I would like to begin with a few basic but important reminders: In international law the worst crime of all is not genocide or crimes against humanity, it is the crime of war of aggression.  This crime can be defined as the execution of any one of the following acts:..

...Despite the anti-government forces accusations that the Syrian military launched a chemical weapon attack on Homs at Christmas in December 2012, CNN reported that the US military was training anti-government fighters with the securing and handling of chemical weapons. Under the name of the Destructive Wind Chemical Battalion, the insurgents themselves even threatened to use nerve gas and released a video where they killed rabbits as a demonstration of what they planned on doing in Syria...

...In recent months, with the unfolding events in Syria, something rather unusual has occurred, which has had a profound impact on the public’s perception and understanding of Obama’s “Global War on Terrorism”. The US government is actively and openly supporting Syria’s Al Nusrah, the main fighting force affiliated to al Qaeda, largely composed of foreign mercenaries. Tax dollars are relentlessly channeled to the “rebels”. In turn, Secretary of State John Kerry meets with rebel commanders who oversee the Al Qaeda affiliated entity. Is this part of a “new normal”: the unity of opposites whereby “terrorism” and “counter-terrorism” are merged into a single foreign policy focus?..

The dogs of war bark and the emerging-powers caravan ... keeps on trucking. That's the Group of 20 meeting in St Petersburg in a nutshell. Count on the indispensable (bombing) nation - via US President Barack "Red Line" Obama - to disrupt a summit whose original agenda was to tackle the immense problems afflicting the global economy. Economy is for suckers. Get me to my Tomahawk on time. The Obama doctrine - Yes We Scan, Yes We Drone - reached a new low with its Yes We Bomb "solution" to the chemical weapons...

...The already diminished global standing of the "sole superpower" will decrease further. The likely prolonged war will cost it more money it does not have without achieving its aim. Going to war against the will of its own people will let others laugh at any U.S. argument of "democracy promotion". The global oil price hike that is already occurring in anticipation of the war will hurt the global economy while it will fill Russia's, Iran's and other oil producers war chest. But argue against a useless war that will cost the U.S. a lot and you will be accused as "anti-American"..

Russia will keep on supplying Syria with weapons and humanitarian aid and continue economic cooperation with Damascus in case of foreign airstrikes in the Middle Eastern country, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday. “Will we be helping Syria? We will, same as we do now,” Putin said at a press conference at the G20 summit in St. Petersburg...

Difference between a Black and a White President, by Ali Baghdadi |  SHOAH
...A Black President is like his colleague, the White one.  Both are servants of the rich and the powerful.  Both are figure heads and window dressers.  In terms of war and peace, the president of the most powerful nation on earth does not set the policy; does not make the vital decisions; and does not call the shots.  The invisible government, made up of cruel super rich and corrupt power hungry men who use the media as tools of mind control of the masses, are the actual rulers.  Those, who invest hundreds of millions of dollars to put their man in the White House, pull the strings...

The American Jewish Cocoon, by Peter Beinart | The New York Review of Books
Speak to American Jews long enough about Israel and you begin to notice something. The conversation may begin with Israel, but it rarely ends there. It usually ends with “them.” Express concern about Israeli subsidies for West Bank settlements and you’ll be told that the settlements don’t matter because “they” won’t accept Israel within any borders. Cite the recent warning by former Shin Bet head Yuval Diskin that “over the past 10–15 years Israel has become more and more racist” and you’ll be told that whatever Israel’s imperfections, it is “they” who teach their children to hate and kill...

DC, the War Crime Capital, by William C. Lewis | Sabbah Report
Washington D.C. is the capital of a war criminal class that harvests the blood of Americans to fight wars abroad for resource control and domestic psychological control. War time stimulus measures are routinely implemented to deceive the masses into a state of shock and perpetual mobilization towards external colonization against target groups whose natural resources are coveted by Washington and western oil conglomerates that desire theft of third-world colonial peoples’ land to implement strategic pipelines that run through Central Asia...

Syria: Today’s Update

...the most strategic and demanding challenge facing the all world’s citizens, including decent men and women inside the United States and Israel, is to reign in the lethal violence and pervasive lawlessness that presently characterizes the West’s orientation to the global community. In order to secure a viable future for humanity and all life on Earth, the United States, Israel, and the NATO group of countries must somehow be made to adhere to the imperatives of international law and due process espoused so enthusiastically by US prosecutors in the opening phase of war crimes proceedings at Nuremberg in 1945...

The true, barbaric nature of US government is once again apparent. It is a war machine. It has always been so, but for a long time the inherent belligerent, criminal state was disguised with the trappings of democracy, human rights and law. But those trappings are now discarded; and the steely, bristling war machine trundles forward to kill and maim countless more civilians for its gratification. The US is the political equivalent of a perverse cult in which, periodically, innocent human blood must be sacrificed to satiate its lust...

...an International Human Shield movement is coalescing according to informed sources here and abroad. One initiative is to bring 1000 Americans and thousands of others, to Syria within the next ten days to guard likely bomb sites reminding one of the International Solidarity Movement international volunteer’s efforts in Occupied Palestine in order to try to protect homes of Palestinians from Government bulldozing...

...The present Convention shall apply to all cases of declared war or of any other armed conflict which may arise between two or more of the High Contracting Parties, even if the state of war is not recognized by one of them.... Any difference arising between two States and leading to the intervention of members of the armed forces is an armed conflict within the meaning of Article 2, even if one of the Parties denies the existence of a state of war.. Pretending that a campaign of hostile, deadly bombing overseen by the U.S. military is somehow not a "war" is both an Orwellian mangling of the English language, and a formulation central to the administration's sale...

In an extremely tight vote, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has approved the resolution authorizing a US attack on Syria. The 10-7 vote sets the stage for the resolution to be considered in the broader Senate as well as the House of Representatives next week, where it will face broad opposition.. the resolution was modified to include a 90-day limit on hostilities, something that most analysts agree the administration would almost certainly ignore. The resolution also ended up with a series of loopholes making escalation of the war simpler...

In 2012 VICE commissioned photographer and videographer Robert King to document the civil war that has been ravaging Syria for the past two years. Largely based in Aleppo, King’s footage of the violent conflict that continues to unfold in the region is perhaps one of the most thorough and brutally honest documents of a war that is increasingly destabilizing the Middle East as it spills over into neighbouring Turkey and Lebanon. This full-length version of Ground Zero Syria combines all six parts of the series to offer a startling glimpse into a chaotic war with no clear end in sight...

Located at the crossroads of several regional crises, including the Palestinian – Israeli and Iraqi conflicts, Jordan has been in the eye of the Syrian storm for more than thirty months, and managed to navigate safely so far, but the reportedly imminent US strike is pressuring the country between the rock and the hard place of the antagonists of the war on Syria...

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, General Martin Dempsey, backed by his Joint Staff generals and admirals, stood between a hasty and knee-jerk President Obama who was intent on launching a military attack on Syria and a tenuous peace in the Middle East...

The realities of the American humanitarian hypocrisy, political terrorism and warmongering have been clearly demonstrated in Obama’s August 31st speech about his decision to punish the Syrian government for its alleged and unsubstantiated use of chemical weapons calling it the worst chemical weapons attack of the 21st century. Obama is ignoring the fact that the US has the worst documented record of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons attacks throughout the whole human history...

.."We are drawing attention to the massive flow of various reports meant to place the responsibility for the possible use of war chemicals in Syria on Damascus before the appearance of the results of the UN study. Thus grounds are being prepared for military action against Syria. Considering this we find it possible to share the main conclusions of the Russian study of samples taken from the scene of use of chemical weapons in a suburb of Aleppo,"..

...Obama is going into wild territory here. It is HIS credibility that is on the line. Despite all Israeli fed propaganda against Syria I can not find one internet forum where his case for War On Syria has even slight support. The President of Russian Federation Putin just called U.S. Secretary of State Kerry a liar. This because Kerry insisted, in contradiction to U.S. intelligence and recent news reports, that the al-Qaeda affiliated fighters in Syria are only a shrinking minority of the Syrian opposition.. Putin said: "This was very unpleasant and surprising for me. We talk to them (the Americans) and we assume they are decent people, but he is lying and he knows that he is lying. This is sad."..

[Oh, and I thought it was ‘go along to get along.’]

This appeal against precipitous military strikes against the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad is signed by several former high-ranking officials of the United Nations, UNESCO, UNICEF and the International Labour Organization. “People who accuse the Security Council of inaction should remember how Western powers abused a Security Council resolution to stage a full-fledged attack on Libya in order to perform ’regime change’ in that country – this is what motivates Russia and China’s opposition to any Security Council motion that may lead to intervention in Syria,” they argue...

Even if everything Secretary of State John Kerry says about chemical weapons in Syria were true, the evidence would prove only that Bashar al-Assad committed crimes against civilians. It would not prove that the U.S. government has either the moral or legal authority to commit acts of war. These issues must be kept separate. We have reason to be skeptical of Kerry’s case — why did President Obama try to stop the UN inspection? — but if it were otherwise, the case for U.S. military intervention still would not have been made — even if authorized by Congress...

Suppose several armored vehicles belonging to a branch of the Palestinian Authority raided an Israeli border village at the eve of a new round of peace negotiations. Would the Israeli delegation return to the talks with handshakes and smiles?..

A few weeks ago some of us were rather amused to see Max Blumenthal, in conversation with Paul Jay (The Real News Network), deliver the usual anti-Zionist Zionist (AZZ) spiel. After the program many Palestinian solidarity and anti-war commentators were outraged and demanded that Jay provide me with a right to reply. So Jay approached me, asked to clarify a few issues and promised to come back to me shortly with an answer. I didn’t hold my breath because since the incident I had learned a little about Jay’s political affiliations and motivations...

Last Batch of Black Slaves Reaches Israel | Roi Tov
On the eve of Jewish New Year 2013, Israel announced that the last batch of Falash Mura Jews from Ethiopia arrived at Israel in two chartered flights on September 4, as part of Operation Dove's Wings, which started last October. The outcome of Operation Moses (1984) and subsequent operations teaches that Israel is purposely tricking the Falash Mura, bringing what can only be described as slaves. The Jewish world applauds while cleaning crocodile tears from its non-colorless cheeks...

Political Ponerology, by Andrew Lobaczewski
With very few exceptions down the ages, discussions in moral philosophy - the study of right conduct - have failed to systematically investigate the origin, nature, and course of evil in a manner free from supernatural imaginings. Evil was often considered something to be endured rather than something that could be understood and eliminated by rational measures. And - as Lobaczewski demonstrates - the origin of evil actually lies outside the boundaries of the conventional worldview.. Evil requires a truly modern and scientific approach to lay bare its secrets. This approach is called “ponerology”, the study of evil, from the Greek “poneros” = evil...

Two months after the military coup in Egypt, the Gaza Strip continues to live through the worst shortages of medical equipment and fuel as well as difficulties on movement in and out of the Strip, a report issued by three international organisations said. EuroMid Observer for Human Rights in cooperation with the Palestinian Return Centre in London (PRC) and Malaysian Consultative Organization (MAPIM) issued the report, 'Slow Death'. The report focused on the negative effects of the siege on Gaza which has led to severe shortages in the Strip...

Syria: Daily Update
Who’s Your Daddy?

...Capitol Hill sources believe that the explicit backing of AIPAC will help the president collect votes at a time when the fate of his use-of-force authorization remains unclear. The word “Israel” appears nowhere in the text of the statement, underscoring by omission the worry pro-Israel groups in the United States have about framing retaliatory strikes in a way that makes it look like Israel is pushing for an attack on Syria for its own interests...

Many of the United States’ most influential pro-Israel and Jewish groups on Tuesday backed the Obama administration’s call for military action in Syria, putting strong momentum behind the effort to persuade reluctant lawmakers to authorize a strike against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime...

...While AIPAC lobbies Congress for a stronger U.S.-Israel relationship, the group rarely deploys its lobbyists in favor of war resolutions like the one before Congress on Syria. During the Iraq War debate in 2002 and 2003, the group did not make the war resolution a priority. In the days after the 9/11 attacks, AIPAC did not take a position on the authorization of the use of military force against al Qaeda.. One reason AIPAC has decided to engage in the congressional fight over the Syria war resolution is that it sees a direct connection to Iran...

President Obama is now saying his administration has decided to attack Syria but will seek Congressional approval before doing so. This sets up a really interesting situation if Congress doesn’t agree, as seems quite possible. The idea of Obama ordering an act of war on Syria without significant international support and without a Congressional mandate always was a head scratcher. Here’s our far left president advocating yet another war in the Middle East after opposing the Iraq war when he was a senator. The same president who has a frosty relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu and has repeatedly fallen short of the demands of the Israel Lobby...
[Well, about as "far left" as Grandma Moses]

...The intelligence community's main center for analyzing all issues relating to weapons of mass destruction is the CIA's Office of Weapons Intelligence, Nonproliferation and Arms Control (WINPAC) Center. It is the same center that tilted the 2002 Iraq estimate toward conclusions that were not supported by technical facts.. intelligence analysts at WINPAC explained to the staff privately that they had reversed the normal intelligence analysis burden of proof and operated on the assumption that Iraq did have WMD programs. That dynamic seems to have re-emerged in the case of Syrian chemical weapons...

Today’s the day I knew was coming.  Despite the fact that Jodi Rudoren mistakenly said that the Lobby would maintain radio-silence about Obama’s plan to strike Syria, I knew she was wrong. And she was.  Today, Obama pulled out all the stops and the Jewish leadership responded: virtually all the major organizations announced their support for military intervention. This statement by the hawkish, pro-Israel Conference of Presidents highlights the real reason for the turnabout:..

...The reason Israel (and its lobby) are going all out to push the United States to attack Syria is as a precedent for a much larger attack on Iran. As AIPAC admits in its own statement of support for the Syria attack:..

..Perhaps someday we will discover too that Kerry’s “Munich moment” was scripted by another partisan of the supposedly besieged “Jewish state” with hegemonic pretensions. The Secretary of State’s chief speechwriter, Stephen Krupin, is, after all, a former intern of the Solomon Project, a pro-Israel think tank affiliated with the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC).. With people like Krupin working inside the State Department, it makes it just that little bit easier for the Israel lobby to maintain the pretense that it has no position on U.S. intervention in Syria...

Syria coverage in America's newspapers is the latest example of purportedly neutral, "objective" press coverage that's bursting with contestable assumptions, often without the reporters and editors involved quite realizing their biases. The core news: President Obama asked Congress to vote on intervening in Syria. The way it's being framed in accounts billed as straight news?..

In a dazzling display of chutzpah, the White House is demanding that Congress demonstrate blind trust in a U.S. intelligence establishment headed by James Clapper, a self-confessed perjurer. That’s a lot to ask in seeking approval for a military attack on Syria, a country posing no credible threat to the United States. But with the help of the same corporate media that cheer-led us into war with Iraq, the administration has already largely succeeded in turning public discussion into one that assumes the accuracy of both the intelligence on the apparent Aug. 21 chemical weapons attack in Syria and President Barack Obama’s far-fetched claim that Syria is somehow a threat to the United States...

If I were very optimistic, I’d say that President Obama is hoping that Congress will follow the example of the British parliament, and vote against his proposed military strike on Syria. It would let him off the hook – he could avoid an illegal, dangerous, immoral military assault and say it’s Congress’ fault...

Here we are five years into the Obama administration, and you’re stating that the West is engaging in “mass propaganda.” Is Obama being drawn into Syria because he’s too weak to resist the status quo? What happened to President Obama that brought us here?..

In the wake of President Obama’s August 31 announcement that he would seek congressional authorization for military strikes against Syria—even though, in (former constitutional law professor) Obama’s view, he does not need such authorization to order an unprovoked attack against another state—Hillary went up against a panel of pro-Obama “journalists” and surrogates on MSNBC..  The eighteen-minute segment has gone at least moderately viral, with multiple Web sites reposting it under titles like “MSNBC War Cheerleaders Get OWNED by Hillary Mann Leverett,”..

A new use-of-force resolution for Syria sets a 60-day deadline, with one 30-day extension possible, for President Barack Obama to launch military strikes against the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad — and it will also bar the involvement of US ground forces in Syria. The revised resolution was crafted by.. the chairman and ranking member of the Foreign Relations Committee, following several days of negotiations. The panel could vote on the proposal by Wednesday...

Many times I've mentioned the foreign-policy assessments of William R. Polk, who first wrote for the Atlantic (about Iraq) during Dwight Eisenhower's administration, back in 1958, and served on the State Department's Policy Planning staff during the Kennedy years. He now has sent in a detailed analysis about Syria. Polk wrote this just before President Obama switched from his go-it-alone policy and decided to seek Congressional approval for a Syrian strike. It remains relevant for the choices Congress, the public, and the president have to make. It is very long, but it is systematically laid out as a series of 13 questions, with answers...

Following a quick survey of macro-economic indicators which are readily available on the web, from such public sites as the CIA, WTO, and so on, one can readily posit a clear and predictive model of war.. the first and most glaring observation arises from a look at net exports, which clearly show a single and dominant global empire, the USA. It has, for many decades, had a negative annual net export, of -0.63T, or so — far greater than that of its closest “rival”, and former dominant empire, the UK, with -0.14T...

...why has the real BHL been so keen to overthrow governments in Libya and Syria?  Even if the countries fall apart? Perhaps this flashy dilettante thinks these wars are good for Israel.  BHL’s devotion to Israel is as conspicuous as his white v-neck shirts and back-swept hairdo.  Perhaps he fantasizes that if all the surrounding countries are in hopeless shambles, “the only democracy in the Middle East” will be the only tree left standing in the forest. But even Israeli intelligence, which is a major source of US assessment of happenings in the region, doubts that Assad’s chemical weapons are a threat to Israel...

President Vladimir Putin warned the West against taking one-sided action in Syria but also said Russia "doesn't exclude" supporting a U.N. resolution on punitive military strikes if it is proved that Damascus used poison gas on its own people. In a wide-ranging interview with the AP and Russia's state Channel 1 television, Putin said Moscow has provided some components of the S-300 air defense missile system to Syria but has frozen further shipments. He suggested that Russia may sell the potent missile systems elsewhere if Western nations attack Syria without U.N. Security Council backing...

..No one is under the illusion that a short, targeted strike is going to overturn the Assad regime and promptly restore some semblance of peace in the region. In the short term, the strike might actually exacerbate and prolong the conflict, making the eventual outcome even more uncertain. And even the best-planned, most-considered military action won't go exactly according to plan. Mishaps can occur, innocent lives may be lost, terrorists may be emboldened, and anti-American protests in the region will likely flare even hotter than they currently are...

Syria:The Calm Before the Storm?
..the corruption extends beyond the usual meaning of a dysfunctional moral compass to include the incapacity for intelligent reasoning and self-reflection. The political class of the most powerful country on earth has been so over-indulged in arrogance and hubris that it is no longer able to realize how ridiculous it appears to the rest of the world. In short, criminal insanity seems to be the condition of US rulers and their puppets, including those in the mass media...

President Vladimir Putin’s remarks on the Syrian crisis, while on a visit to Vladivostok in the weekend, were his first ones since the crisis began snowballing over the United States’ moves to launch a militarily attack against the Middle Eastern country. What is striking from the Kremlin’s transcript is that Putin spoke far more extensively than what the media reports suggested, and, second, he spoke on virtually every aspect of the explosive situation...

...This is the first time ever that any administration justified a war by saying that we have to do it because, the “800 pound gorilla” wants it.  But it’s worse than that; the White House is justifying a little war with Syria by saying that without it AIPAC will think it won’t get the big war it wants with Iran. And that means the donors will be pissed and stop giving to the Democrats.  Iraq, Syria, Iran... Are we AIPAC’s bitch or what?..

President Barack Obama often praised for his oratorical brilliance found himself backed into a corner by his own words. He had drawn a line in the sand and promised dire consequences to the government of Syrian president Bashar Al Assad if he dared to cross that line.. The recent alleged large chemical attack in a suburb of Damascus seems to have provided Obama with the grounds to intervene. Sane observers hold that Assad would have to be completely insane to use chemical weapons while the US is waiting for a reason to intervene. So the questions appears to be: Is Assad insane? Or: Is this a false flag operation?..

...I think what’s apparent here is that Mossad used a device that is quite common when governments/intelligence agencies want to plant a phoney story; release it through a relatively unknown publication and wait for it to be picked up by the MSM. After all, if the ‘crack’ 8200 Unit was actually listening in on the 21st August “at the time of the attack” to Syrian Army radio, why didn’t they immediately release the information to the world (even as it happened!)? Isn’t that what you or I would have done with that kind of war-starting information?..

Some months ago I had read in Turkish media that 2 kg of Sarin gas was found with seven members of Al- Nusra group, supported by Saudi Arabia, in Mersin and Adana in south Turkey.. The Turkish government tried to kill the sarin story and in fact punished the intelligence agent who made the news public in Rehanly , which is close to the Syrian border...

The document released on the White House web site [1] to “prove” to the American people that the Syrian government had used poison gas -- allegedly the neurotoxin Sarin -- to kill hundreds of civilians, is so flawed and lacking in real proof that if it were being used to make a case against a terrorist group it would be too weak to justify an indictment. For starters, there is no documentary proof offered. Only assertions about evidence which is never actually shown. No maps. No satellite or aerial spy-plane or drone surveillance photos. No identified witnesses with verifiable expertise. All there is in this document is a narrative with assertions like: “The US Gov't assesses with high confidence..”

Israeli writer Chemi Shalev predicts today in Haartez that Israel and the Jewish Lobby will be putting pressure on congressmen. In practice they will push for a war against Syria.. And the verdict is clear, if you have a powerful Jewish lobby in you country, you don't really need an enemy, you will end up fighting a war with no end...

President Obama has sidestepped the political hole he had dug for himself (what we might call the "red line" hole) over his proposed attack on Syria. Having insisted there must be "consequences" for a breach of international law, specifically the alleged use of banned chemical weapons by the Syrian government, he was faced with both popular American reluctance to support military action and Congressional pique over not being included in the decision process.. Lest we forget, the U.S. defoliated parts of Vietnam with a chemical weapon called Agent Orange...

Syria: Today’s Update

Syrian rebels in the Damascus suburb of Ghouta have admitted to Associated Press correspondent Dale Gavlak that they were responsible for last week’s chemical weapons incident which western powers have blamed on Bashar Al-Assad’s forces, revealing that the casualties were the result of an accident caused by rebels mishandling chemical weapons provided to them by Saudi Arabia...

Selling Congress on another, wildly unpopular war is no easy task, and many see it as extremely doubtful Congress will ever agree to do so. The Obama Administration has a plan though: make it all about Israel. Congress loves Israel with a passion, and getting Israel even remotely linked to a resolution is usually enough to ensure a landslide victory. But the administration’s claims that attacking Syria will “protect Israel” are not just cynical, they’re also extremely doubtful...

...In practice there has been a stalemate in most of Syria for the last year. If the Syrian army did use poison gas, it shows it does not have the strength to retake even the inner rebel-held suburbs of Damascus. It is better therefore for the battle lines to be frozen under some form of UN supervision. Long-term solutions will only begin to be feasible when Syrians are no longer at the mercy of what Northern Ireland politicians used to call “the politics of the last atrocity”..

The rats are jumping ship. Obama’s strongest allies can’t stomach the stench of lies that are the foundation of the war effort against Syria. Even England, whose entire foreign policy is reduced to asking “how high?” when the U.S. says “jump,” opted to stay grounded for Obama’s war drive. The Arab League, too, having long been considered a puppet show by U.S. foreign policy, has cut its strings. The UN Security Council — after having learned not to trust Obama in Libya — also refuses to give permission for an attack...

...The use of chemical weapons is awful. But to treat their apparently random use to justify an urgent, extra-legal attack on a foreign state is wilful. It had been precipitated by President Obama's unwise warning in the summer that such use would cross a "red line". This is odd from a leader whose own arsenal embraces phosphorous and depleted uranium shells and delayed-action cluster bombs, not to mention nuclear weapons. Why such dreadful weapons are not taboo, and chemical ones are, is a mystery...

...even if every single Member and Senator votes for another war, it will not make this terrible idea any better because some sort of nod is given to the Constitution along the way. Besides, the president made it clear that Congressional authorization is superfluous, asserting falsely that he has the authority to act on his own with or without Congress. That Congress allows itself to be treated as window dressing by the imperial president is just astonishing...

As they consider further intervention in Syria, Washington policymakers should be aware of the history of previous U.S. involvement there. During the Cold War’s early years, the United States tried to overthrow the Syrian government in one of the most sustained covert-operations campaigns ever conducted...

It's a potent sign of how low the American political bar is set that gratitude is expressed because a US president says he will ask Congress to vote before he starts bombing another country that is not attacking or threatening the US. That the US will not become involved in foreign wars of choice without the consent of the American people through their representatives Congress is a central mandate of the US Constitution, not some enlightened, progressive innovation of the 21st century...

The war on Iraq won’t be remembered for how it was waged so much as for how it was sold. It was a propaganda war, a war of perception management, where loaded phrases, such as “weapons of mass destruction” and “rogue state” were hurled like precision weapons at the target audience: us. To understand the Iraq war you don’t need to consult generals, but the spin doctors and PR flacks who stage-managed the countdown to war from the murky corridors of Washington where politics, corporate spin and psy-ops spooks cohabit...

Russia’s foreign minister dismissed as unconvincing the evidence presented by Secretary of State John Kerry of chemical weapons use by the Syrian government, saying on Monday that the United States had fallen far short of making a case for international cooperation on military strikes against the government of President Bashar al-Assad...

...In Damascus, Israel wanted to breach an entrance to the complex. It didn't have accurate intelligence regarding the exact position of Bashar al-Assad, but this mattered little. They had enough bombs to open any obstructive wall along the way, and Bashar was an easy target. Like his father, he was very tall and had a narrow, elongated head. He could be recognized immediately. The soldiers entered the compound finding little resistance. The early attack on the palace had caused mayhem. The bunker buster had transformed parts of the building into liquified butter...

The document entitled “U.S. Government Assessment of the Syrian Government’s Use of Chemical Weapons on August 21, 2013”, released in tandem with public statements made by Secretary of State John Kerry, is merely summary of a manufactured narrative designed to lead the US into yet another criminal and disastrous war in the Middle East.  Having been released prior to even preliminary reports from UN chemical weapons investigators on the ground in Syria, the document is as much a work of fiction as it is fact...

President Obama, in a speech on Aug. 31st, 2013, stated he will follow the Constitution and wait for Congressional approval before launching an attack on Syria. And he has dutifully sent this request to Congress. However, since Congress does not return from recess until September 9th, I am doubtful the matter will be allowed to wait that long—if not by Obama, then by the defeated FSA/al Nusra forces (and their backers), the Israelis, French or other shadowy forces. Here are several scenarios for launch of an attack prior to Sept. 9th:..

...Israel has repeatedly been involved in the Syrian civil war..  This absolutely illegal activity by Israel- which has killed a great many civilians, including children - has brought no condemnation at all from the West.  Israel has now provided “intelligence” to the United States designed to allow the United States to join in with Israel’s bombing and missile campaign..  Troodos did not pick up the intercepts because they do not exist.  Mossad fabricated them.  John Kerry’s “evidence” is the shabbiest of tricks.  More children may now be blown to pieces by massive American missile blasts.  It is nothing to do with humanitarian intervention.  It is, yet again, the USA acting at the behest of Israel.

The anticipated use of military force against Syria in reaction to the use of chemical weapons does not meet the permitted exceptions to the prohibition on the use of force under the United Nations Charter. Security Council authorisation has not been forthcoming, while self-defence is obviously not applicable.. United Kingdom government had relied up on humanitarian intervention as the legal basis to justify the use of force. The doctrine is controversial and.. at best has weak legal standing in international law. But the type of limited military intervention envisaged bears all the hallmarks of a reprisal, rather than humanitarian intervention, and this concept is equally problematic in modern international law...

After producing another classic national-security state crisis environment for the American people — this time over whether President Obama should order his military to bomb Syria — the president announced that he would first seek approval from Congress for his bombing run. Notice that he didn’t say he was seeking permission from Congress. He says that he doesn’t need permission from Congress to initiate to initiate war against another nation-state. In fact, he has made it clear that in all likelihood he will order his army to attack Syria even if Congress votes no. So, why the charade?..

The morning following President Obama’s announcement he would not bomb Syria immediately, the streets of Damascus were packed with shoppers and employees heading to their jobs. Several reasons for this were mentioned by my friend, Eyman. Some Damascenes who had fled their homes last week had returned, and a palpable sense of at least temporary relief pervades much of this capital city. It is also the first of the month. In Syria, government and other employees have just received their monthly paychecks and need to stock up on food, particularly now, upon entering this most uncertain month...

Syria: Today's Update

The primary “witness” that the mainstream media is using as a source in Syria has been caught staging fake news segments.  Recent video evidence proves that “Syria Danny”, the supposed activist who has been begging for military intervention on CNN, is really just a paid actor and a liar.. By pointing out that the mainstream media is orchestrating their entire coverage of this incident, we are not denying that there is a tremendous amount of death and violence in Syria right now.  However, we are showing that the mainstream media version of events is scripted and staged propaganda...

Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell, says Israel may have conducted a 'false flag' operation. Describes its government as inept and Netanyahu as 'clueless.'.. believes that the chemical weapons used in Syria may have been an Israeli "false flag" operation aimed at implicating Bashar Assad's regime. Wilkerson made his astounding assertion in an interview on Current TV, the network once owned by former Vice President Al Gore and recently purchased by Al-Jazeera...

As the U.S. considers a response to what it calls a chemical weapon attack by Syria’s Bashar al-Assad regime that killed hundreds of civilians, reliable Middle Eastern sources say they have evidence the culprits actually were the rebel forces trying to take over the government...

...Another way of thinking about the grand strategy of the United States in the Middle East after the dust from the Arab Spring began to settle in the region is suggested by the noted Israeli peace activist and former Knesset member, Uri Avnery: the U.S. Government at work frantically behind the scenes to restore the function of governance to military dictators, with Egypt the new poster child. Avnery attributes these Machiavellian machinations to CIA masterminds swimming in dark waters, entrapping Obama by overriding his strong rhetorical support for democracy in the Arab world, articulated in his Cairo speech back in 2009...

The names of the “experts” seeking a “decisive response” against Syria:..
[A self-selected list of the major neocon warmongers]

Since the United Nations was created in 1945, its Charter has been more honored in the breach than the observance. So maybe it should not surprise us that President Obama seems poised to authorize American military action against Syria, in clear violation of international law...
[Law? The law is for sissies and the goyim, right?]

President Barack Obama is setting a new precedent in America's history as an imperialist power. He is all but apologizing before he orders a military attack against a sovereign country with which the United States is not at war and which has not offended America's vital interests and concerns as a sovereign country even remotely. The Obama administration is publicizing in advance that it is going to be a "limited" military attack by the US on Syria. It is even willing to give advance notice of when the attack can be expected. Who would say Obama is not a humane and considerate statesman?..

The Assad regime in Syria today agreed to cooperate in a “symbolic strike” against itself.  “We understand the need for the U.S. to maintain its prestige and credibility,” said a Syrian government official, on condition of anonymity, “and if bombing some unused installation in the middle of nowhere will make them feel better, we’re willing to help.”..

There, is your knee-jerking yet? Have you started to salivate and get sweaty palmed and developed the requisite insatiable craving for moralistic war against the media designated demons responsible for such unbelievable, unique, and unprecedented evil? No? Then, your conditioning will have to be continued, the voltage upped, so that, whenever necessary, your leaders and betters will be able to sell you another ugly little war in which the mighty hollow West can bomb some destabilized little patch of naturally-occurring chaos or tyranny back into tyranny or chaos again...

...Does Obama want to attack Syria on September 11? I don't get it, is now Bashar al-Assad also guilty for the 2001 event? Oh, the wonders of Western astrologers! It is not 9/11, it is an emergency 911 call! America attacks humanity. As the entire world—except USA, Israel and France—knows, the Western-backed mercenaries were those using chemical weapons, which apparently were supplied via Saudi Arabia. Russia is still firmly backing Syria and that may deter the USA, which obviously is not reading the warning graffiti...

Former congressman Ron Paul says the United States should avoid escalating its involvement in the Syrian civil war any further because the US will be on the way to aiding Al-Qaeda if it continues to assist opposition fighters. "We are not really positive who set off the gas.. They ignite some gas, some people die and blame it on Assad," he said...

...If the report is genuine, it would be consistent with the  American intelligence account: Assad's forces indeed fired rockets and artillery at the time of the alleged chimical attack, yet the rockets were of a conventional nature. The meaning of it is simple, the rebels posses WMD supplied by foreign agents and the conflict is about to escalate into a genocidal warfare, an unfolding tragedy...

President Obama is using the same tactics as President Bush did before the Iraq War.  When the UN Security Council would not support the U.S. war, Bush turned to the U.S. Congress for a war vote giving him “all necessary means”. Ten years later Iraq lay in ruins. A million Iraqis died, millions became refugees. More than 1.5 million US soldiers were deployed to Iraq. Today thousands of U.S. and NATO soldiers are disabled, traumatized and 1/3 will suffer from PTSD. Just as in Iraq, Afghanistan and earlier in Vietnam this is again a U.S. war based on lies. Bombing Syria is NOT a ‘humanitarian intervention’. It is another war for Wall Street Profit! This time there is a risk of global confrontation or even world war...

As the world holds its breath, wondering when the US and its allies will attack Syria, Western governments and its well-oiled mainstream media seem to be ignoring a key player that has kept strangely quiet during this crisis: Israel...

If Obama were capable of feeling shamefully humiliated he would crawl under his desk in the Oval Office in the fetal position keening after hearing this speech by Putin:..

...They will gang up on Damascus, the mother of all cities, with the aim of crushing the people, the army, and the leadership. They want to destroy its history and its heritage of resisting invaders. They want to destroy every spirit that resists colonialism and supports resistance in the whole region. They want to extend a permanent lifeline to Israel and the oppressive regimes in our Arab countries, and they want to have collaborators of all kinds take over countries, rob their resources, and annihilate their peoples...

President Obama’s August 31st remarks from the White House Rose Garden will long be remembered for their strangeness, but the final interpretation of their significance will have to await months if not years. There are three dimensions, at least, that are worth pondering:..

..The US and its allies, to their eternal shame, have already used WMD on the Syrian people, but initially in a non traditional form. They changed their game plan for future regime changes to avoid using their own troops and as little cash as possible. How? They went rogue. They went over to terrorism. They went over to al-Qaeda, that’s how. Using the Gulf State proxies has fooled no one here...

..Israel, AIPAC, and the Jewish owned media have so indoctrinated and brainwashed the Congress and the American people that they’re unable to envisage any possible negotiations with these nations and groups. Yet we are beginning negotiations with the Taliban, the most extreme group with much American blood on their hands. We negotiated with the North Vietnamese despite the deaths of over 55,000 Americans. We negotiated with the I.R.A., another terrorist group. Why are we able to negotiate with such parties but not anyone in the Middle East? Because Israel has no interest in these countries but when it comes to the Middle East the U.S. can’t twitch a muscle without Israel’s pre-approval...

...The Syrian people want peace, not more bombs. They certainly don’t want to be ruled by ‘rebels’ who include mercenary jihadists and terrorists. According to the Washington Times,“The rebel movement on the ground in many parts of Syria is led by Islamic extremist groups hostile to the United States and they are holding at least 15 Westerners hostage, most of them journalists.” Also, according to Britain’s Guardian newspaper, Al-Qaida is a most serious terrorist threat in Syria; the newspaper referred to an intelligence and security committee report that warned of catastrophic consequences should militants get hold of chemical weapons. When will we ever learn?..

Syria Hanging in the Balance

France's Former Foreign Minister, Roland Dumas, has stated in a televised program on LCP that UK government officials had told him about preparations for war in Syria two years prior to the start of the 2011 protests and conflict. The reason given for this war is the Syrian government's anti-Israel stance that made Syria a target for Western-backed regime change...

US Secretary of State John Kerry accuses Syrian government forces of killing 1,429 people, including 426 children, in a chemical weapons attack in Damascus last week described as an “inconceivable horror” and “a crime against conscience”.. How extraordinary that the figures quoted – 1.429 including 426 children – are almost identical to those slaughtered in Gaza by the Israeli regime’s thugs during Operation Cast Lead. I don’t recall nearly so much moral outrage and condemnation from the White House for that atrocity, or any talk of lethal ‘punishment’ to be inflicted on Tel Aviv...
[The game is blatantly transparent. When are people going to wake up?]

With the same malevolent intentions of Secretary of State Powell while justifying in 2003 an attack on Iraq with lies at the UN, on August 30, 2013, John Kerry uttered more than 1,400 lies in a single speech. One day after the British Parliament voted against military intervention in Syria, the current Secretary of State made the case for yet another U.S. attack on humanity. Showing how serious his threat is, Israel accelerated the announced move of troops into the Golan Heights...

While the rest of the world debates whether chemical agents were used, what kind were used, and who used them, whether or not this attack should be or must be the determinant of action required because the “red line” has been crossed, whether the west must wait for the UN inspectors to report to their superiors, whether or not we have already acted illegally against International law by arming and training these rebels.. one concern, it seems to me, rides high above all others, how can the United States and Israel be the determiners of who will use chemicals of mass destruction since they are culpable of this crime multiple times over in this very century?..

...Someone should remind President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry that credibility with respect to international law begins at home and ends at the United Nations. Sadly, the American government loses out at both ends of this normative spectrum, and the days of Washington being able to deliver pious messages on the importance of international law are over. No one is listening, and that’s a relief, although it does provide material for those teams of writers working up material for the likes of Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and the many standups at Comedy Central...

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday dismissed claims that the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons, demanding that the United States provide proof rather than taking rash action. Speaking after the United States released an intelligence report, Putin rejected US use of intercepts of Syrian communications as evidence, saying that they could not be used to take "fundamental decisions" like using military force on Syria. And he rubbished the notion that the Syrian army used chemical weapons, saying to do so would defy "common sense."..

“I have no interest in any open-ended conflict in Syria, but we do have to make sure that when countries break international norms on weapons like chemical weapons that could threaten us, that they are held accountable,” President Barack Obama said in a PBS interview earlier this week. With allegations of a horrific chemical weapons attack outside Damascus and new reports of a “napalm” bomb being dropped on a school playground in northern Syria, this statement, made by an American Commander-in-Chief, would certainly come as a surprise to many of Obama’s predecessors, considering the use of chemical weapons has been standard U.S. military procedure for decades...

The war clouds’ silver lining: The sudden rebirth of the anti-war movement.  It’s helping energize the upcoming Million American March Against Fear which begins on September 11th at high noon on the National Mall in Washington, DC between 13th and 14th Streets. The Million American March will feature Dr. Cornel West, one of America’s best-known authors and intellectuals...

In 1924, just four years after Winston Churchill wrote his controversial article “Zionism vs. Bolshevism: The Struggle for the Soul of the Jewish People,” Jewish novelist, intellectual, and lecturer in history Maurice Samuel wrote in his book You Gentiles, “We Jews, we, the destroyers, will remain the destroyers forever. Nothing that you [Gentiles] will do will meet our needs and demands. We will forever destroy because we need a world of our own, a God-world, which is not in your nature to build.”..
[What to my mind is the most amazing thing is that – after the umpteenth time the current version of the Frog and the Scorpion is repeated - the Frog (the US et al, the PA) still offers the Scorpion a trip across the river. The only recent innovation is that the Scorpion now has a First Class ticket, personally signed by the President of the United States and countersigned by the Chief Rabbi of Israel.]

...Can you believe how ridiculous these American puppets sound? What the deluded Americans do not seem to realize is that they are on their own. The only entities willing to support their aggression on Syria are Saudi Arabia and Israel. So, how’s that for credibility? The only support Washington can muster is from a feudal, sword-wielding, head-chopping regime and a criminal pariah genocidal state. Coalition of the Willing? More like Coalition of the Killing...

...The following is a point-by-point response to the document’s claim that President Assad was responsible for a chemical weapons attack by the Syrian government on 21 August 2013. This analysis does not, and cannot from existing evidence, conclude that the Syrian regime did not deliberately deploy chemical weapons on this or other occasions. It does conclude that the U.S. Government Assessment has not made the case for this claim, and certainly not to the point of justifying its own unilateral intervention (which, in any case, would clearly violate the United Nations Charter)..

As the Obama administration proceeds with its tragi-comic preparations for military strikes against Syria, with no domestic or international legitimacy, it is losing allies and partners at an impressively rapid pace—faster than even the George W. Bush administration was able to achieve at its most egregiously offensive. The Arab League, in the end, declined to endorse military action against Syria, Britain decided not to go on this particular martial walk with its American master, and, for once, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) is not the only member of Congress raising his voice against the prospect of another illegal and strategically use of military force yet another U.S. administration...
[Mark my words. They will do what they’re told to do by their Zionist masters. Due to the balking British, Obama was probably ordered by AIPAC to put the issue before Congress for the added cover, where the ZioNazis have near total control. If I’m wrong, and I dearly hope that I am, then a new day would be dawning. See next link]

It is not difficult to understand the power-game being played in Syria and no decent human being should stand on the sideline in a conflict that will shape the future of our humanity.  The global intifada (uprising) is spreading and it is rejecting war and hegemony and now even President Obama is reeling under pressure.  It is an earthquake that is shaking the very foundation of post-WWII world order (what used to be referred to mistakenly as “the American century” when it was really the Zionist century)..

The Obama administration has selectively used intelligence to justify military strikes on Syria, former military officers with access to the original intelligence reports say, in a manner that goes far beyond what critics charged the Bush administration of doing in the run-up to the 2003 Iraq war. According to these officers, who served in top positions in the United States, Britain, France, Israel, and Jordan, a Syrian military communication intercepted by Israel’s famed Unit 8200 electronic intelligence outfit has been doctored so that it leads a reader to just the opposite conclusion reached by the original report...

BBC editor urged colleagues to downplay Israel's siege of Gaza, by Amena Saleem | The Electronic Intifada
The new Middle East online editor for BBC News has been praised by a pro-Israeli website for being “willing to listen to his critics” after he sent internal emails guiding BBC staff to write more favorably about Israel.. he asked BBC colleagues to word their stories in a way which does not blame or “put undue emphasis” on Israel for starting the prolonged attacks. Instead, he encouraged journalists to promote the Israeli government line that the “offensive” was “aimed at ending rocket fire from Gaza.” This was despite the fact that Israel broke a ceasefire when it attacked Gaza on 14 November, a ceasefire which the Palestinians had been observing — firing no rockets into Israel...
