Our Invisible Revolution, by Chris Hedges | Truthdig
..As long as most citizens believe in the ideas that justify global capitalism, the private and state institutions that serve our corporate masters are unassailable. When these ideas are shattered, the institutions that buttress the ruling class deflate and collapse. The battle of ideas is percolating below the surface. It is a battle the corporate state is steadily losing. An increasing number of Americans are getting it. They know that we have been stripped of political power. They recognize that we have been shorn of our most basic and cherished civil liberties, and live under the gaze of the most intrusive security and surveillance apparatus in human history...

The Psychology of Zionist Bloodbath, by Jonas E. Alexis | Veterans Today
Eighteenth-century English playwright and poet William Congreve, who befriended Jonathan Swift in college, intoned in The Mourning Bride: “Heav’n has no rage, like love to hatred turn’d, nor hell a fury, like a woman scorned.” This line seems to describe Caroline B. Glick of the Jerusalem Post, who has declared that Iran is “the genocidal, nuclear weapons-developing mullocracy” in the Middle East...

How science is telling us all to revolt, by Naomi Klein | The New Statesman
...we happen to have an economic system that fetishises GDP growth above all else, regardless of the human or ecological consequences, and in which the neoliberal political class has utterly abdicated its responsibility to manage anything (since the market is the invisible genius to which everything must be entrusted)..
[It’s about time that GDP growth is recognized as a potent and devastating form of socioeconomic cancer rather than something to be celebrated.]

Jeremy Scahill, The Fantasy of a Clean War | TomDispatch
...It is not just the precedents set during the Obama era that will reverberate into the future, but also the lethal operations themselves. No one can scientifically predict the future consequences of drone strikes, cruise missile attacks, and night raids. But from my experience in several undeclared war zones across the globe, it seems clear that the United States is helping to breed a new generation of enemies in Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and throughout the Muslim world. Those whose loved ones were killed in drone strikes or cruise missile attacks or night raids will have a legitimate score to settle...

Neocons Push Israeli-Saudi Alliance, by Robert Parry | Consortium News
Early U.S. presidents warned against the dangers of “entangling alliances,” prescient advice that the neocons want President Obama to ignore amid demands from Israel and Saudi Arabia that America tie itself up in the endless and bloody sectarian conflicts of the Middle East...

28 Signs That The West Coast Is Being Absolutely Fried With Nuclear Radiation From Fukushima, by Michael Snyder | Global Research
The map below comes from the Nuclear Emergency Tracking Center. It shows that radiation levels at radiation monitoring stations all over the country are elevated.  As you will notice, this is particularly true along the west coast of the United States.  Every single day, 300 tons of radioactive water from Fukushima enters the Pacific Ocean.  That means that the total amouont of radioactive material released from Fukushima is constantly increasing, and it is steadily building up in our food chain...

Palestinians: Last Victims of the Holocaust, by Lillian Rosengarten | Palestine Chronicle
Where is the heart of the Jewish soul? Soul as ethical compassion, the Jewish spirit as it struggled to survive the darkest nightmare of Nazi racial laws. How do the first and second generation of victims of such heinous blood curdling racist crimes during the Nazi program of ethnic cleansing, live it’s present form of nationalism in Israel? By what demonic twist of fate can Jews, who merely two generations ago suffered the cruelest racial bestiality as victims of Nazi anti-Semitism and racial purity laws, justify destroying an entire Palestinian population by plowing through their land, driving out it’s inhabitants and by wielding power through military force to establish their ownership by “right.”..

USPCN Strongly Condemns Arrest and Indictment of Rasmea Yousef Odeh | USPCN
...the lead prosecutor in the Holy Land 5 case, and career anti-Palestinian ideologue and racist, Assistant U.S. Attorney Barry Jonas, was present at Rasmea’s hearing on the morning she was arrested.  This proves beyond a doubt that this case is not about any alleged immigration violation, but rather a witch-hunt against another community leader who has dedicated her life to organizing for the Right of Return and Palestine’s decolonization...

Teva Nears Collapse | Roi Tov
On October 30, 2013, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, Israel's largest company and the world's largest generic drugs company, announced that President and CEO Jeremy Levin is leaving it. Beyond ongoing operative difficulties, Teva is soon to lose its patent on Copaxone. The ship's captain abandoned Israel's industrial flagship with a huge hole in the revenues compartment, before an almost unavoidable sinking in the salty waters of the Dead Sea...

Kerry tells Bibi and Jewish Lobby to Shove It, by Jim W. Dean | Press TV/Veterans Today
...The EU Parliament on the other hand, has a plan to de-nuclearize the MidEast...one which includes Israel. The feathers will be flying when that comes in the mail. When this silliness is all over I hope to get to see a large open air prison where the hard core Zios and Jewish Lobby folks are incarcerated with the throat slitting Jihadis. But we would only allow stone age tools to be used in the camp and have wireless video cameras everywhere so we could all watch justice being done...inexpensively !!!..

US Jewish racists face to face with the truth | Redress Information & Analysis
Jewish supremacists visiting the racist Jewish National Fund’s (JNF) annual national conference in Denver, USA, have found themselves face to face with the truth. Uri Avnery: ‘Israel is not Apartheid State’ | Rehmat's World
It seems Uri Avnery has started dropping his anti-Zionism cover. Last month, he claimed that former Iranian president Dr. Ahmadinejad was a Mossad agent. In a recent article, Avnery has tried to prove that Israel is not an apartheid state like the old White-occupied South Africa. Before some Israeli hasbara goon calls me a “Jew-hater”, I would let American Jewish blogger Roger Tucker describe Uri Avnery:..

Israel and the NSA: Partners in Crime, by Justin Raimondo | Antiwar
It wasn’t the US government breaking into the private communications of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, according to top secret documents unearthed by Edward Snowden and published in Le Monde – it was the Israelis. A four-page internal précis regarding a visit to Washington by two top French intelligence officials denies the NSA or any US intelligence agency was behind the May 2012 attempted break-in – which sought to implant a monitoring device inside the Elysee Palace’s communications system – but instead fingers the Israelis, albeit indirectly:..

Peace process is doomed to fail while Israel stalls for time, by Jonathan Cook | The View from Nazareth
...At Israel’s insistence, the peace talks have been entirely shielded from public view. Privacy, Israel argued, would ease the pressure on the two parties and give them greater room to be forthcoming and creative. The reality, however, is that the lack of scrutiny has allowed Israel to drag its feet. Secrecy, Israel hopes, will give it the cover it expects to need when – as seems certain – the talks end inconclusively, or the Palestinians storm out...

Cutting The Middle East’s Gordian Knot: Why Israel Cannot Survive In Its Present Form | John Chuckman
Some Israelis are fond of comparing Israel’s displacement of Palestinians to the historical experience of North Americans in displacing indigenous people, but the comparison is inaccurate on almost every level. First, comparing events of two hundred years ago and today is misleading: norms of human rights and ethics and law have changed tremendously in that time. Besides, people all over the world see and read of such injustices today, something not possible at an earlier time...

Anti-Zionist Comics Hits Israel | Roi Tov
The most educated segment of Israeli society hits back at Zion. Expectedly, they chose the printed media for that, in an effort that if attempted in Europe, it would be classified as anti-Semitic and their perpetrators will probably be gassed to death. Ultra-Orthodox Jews have recently been forced to join the Zionist army. This violation and their having been left out of Netanyahu's new coalition had created a feeling of danger amid them...

A Long-Term Nuclear Deal with Iran: Is a "Good" Deal Possible? by Robert Einhorn | Brookings Institution
No negotiated solution to the Iran nuclear issue will be ideal. The United States will not get all that it asks for. Any agreement will be criticized, both in Israel and the United States. But the test for any agreement should not be how it measures up against the best outcome we can imagine. A better test is how it compares to alternative means for dealing with the problem. Those alternative means include the use of military force, active efforts to promote regime change, and a continuation of the current pressure strategy...

Open letter to EU Foreign Ministers from Gush Shalom | Veterans Today
“We would like you to know that many in Israel consider your position against settlements to be an expression of true friendship and concern towards Israel” stated the Gush Shalom letter. “It is Israel’s existential interest to come to terms with the fact that in today’s world it is unacceptable to rule over another people by force, confiscate that people’s land and settle on it. The European Union would best help Israel’s true interests by insisting unflinchingly on this principle.”..

The structural roots of Israeli apartheid, by Noura Erakat | Al Jazeera
Palestinian-Israeli negotiations have intensified in recent days. The talks, facilitated by US Secretary of State John Kerry, have resulted in 13 meetings between the two delegations to discuss issues of mutual concern. Yet in the midst of the current flurry of activity aimed at saving the two-state solution from the shelves of rich archival libraries, three-time Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is insisting that the conflict is not a political one at all...
[Well worth reading, even with the knowledge that she’s the niece of the collaborator Saeb Erekat, who, as chief Palestinian negotiator, has been pushing the stillborn two-state solution since day one.]

Obama at the UN General Assembly: Five Years a Zionist Lackey, by James Petras | ICH

Obama’s rhetorical exercise in ‘peace talk’ at the United Nations General Assembly impressed few delegations and even fewer Americans: Far more eloquent are his five years of wars, military interventions, cyber-spying, drone murders, military coups and the merciless prosecution of patriotic truth tellers. If his ‘peace message’ fell flat, the explicit affirmations of imperial prerogatives, threats of military interventions and over two dozen (25) references to Israel as a ‘strategic ally’, confirmed the suspicions and fears that Obama was preparing for even more deadly wars...

Will Israel Merge With Saudi Arabia? by Kevin Barrett | Veterans Today

...It seems that the Saudi and Israeli regimes have joined together to pursue the same foreign policy. Since their domestic policies are also similar, the question arises: Why not merge the two countries into a new entity called Saudi Israelia? Skeptics will argue that such a marriage between Zionists and Arabs could never succeed. But consider how much the two nations have in common...

Adelson-Backed Group Surveys Israeli-Americans on Level of Loyalty to Israel | Tikun Olam

An L.A. based pro-Israel group, the Israeli-American Council (IAC), with the financial support of Sheldon Adelson, has compiled a survey measuring the level of loyalty of Israeli-Americans to Israel and America.  The survey was disseminated to tens of thousands of Israelis living in the U.S., with the collaboration of the Israeli embassy and consulates, which used their e-mail lists to distribute it.  The IAC appears to have pretensions of becoming an Israeli-American version of Aipac...

Merkel Sells Out For 5 Eyes Access | Moon of Alabama

...Merkel does not want to get rid of the "collect it all" spying on Germans and other people. She, who some believe was herself an nonofficial associate (IM) of the infamous East German state security service (Stasi), does not mind the violation of German citizens' rights to privacy. She wants to be, against German public opinion, part of the club that does the spying. She wants to have Germany accepted in the 5 eyes club which consists of the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Those countries have pledged not to spy on each other but to share everything they have. But in effect the secret services of these countries are just NSA appendages...

Former heads of state call on EU to set up state surveillance of ‘intolerant’ citizens | Life Site News

A council of former heads of state and government leaders has called on the European Union to establish national surveillance units to monitor citizens of all 27 EU member states suspected of “intolerance”. The European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation (ECTR), a “tolerance watchdog” launched under the leadership of former Polish president Aleksander Kwasniewski and Moshe Kantor, President of the European Jewish Congress, called for the establishment of government surveillance bodies to directly monitor the “intolerant” behavior of identified citizens and groups...

Iran deal-breaker report gives Israel hope, by Kaveh L Afrasiabi | Asia Times Online

The Influence of Israel and it's American Lobby over US Middle East Policy, by Jeffrey Blankfort | IPSC
The apparent ability of Israel, one of the world's smallest countries, to shape the Middle East policies of the world's remaining superpower has been a source of puzzlement, conjecture, and constant frustration on the part of those fighting for justice for the Palestinians and for the peoples of the region, as a whole. One of the roots of this unique historical phenomenon may be found in the interpretation of a 120-year-old US Supreme Court decision that afforded corporations the same rights as individual American citizens...

Who is the real threat: Iran or Israel? by Akbar Ganji | Al Jazeera
...The fact is that Netanyahu and his government have tried to bring the Iran "nuclear threat" to the foreground in order to sideline other major issues, including the continued occupation of Palestinian lands and denying citizenship rights to its inhabitants. The fact that has been neglected is that Israel has been building hundreds of nuclear warheads and it threatens Iran with military attacks...

Thousands Occupy Hebron in Celebration of Death | Roi Tov
On Saturday, October 26, 2013, the Palestinian city of Hebron in the southern West Bank was occupied by thousands of Jews celebrating the Life of Sarah weekly portion of the Pentateuch. 7 Jewish leftists members of All That's Left, one of them from abroad, were arrested by the police after blocking the way near the Cave of the Patriarchs,+ where Sarah is buried. Fearing violence, few Palestinians dared to leave their homes; their hometown had become a Palestinian Ghetto...

Israel Benefits As World Loses, by Paul Balles | Intifada Palestine
...The Israelis and their lobbyists in the United States laugh quietly when they hear someone complain about the $3 billion in annual gifts America sends to Israel. Why is that funny?  Because it only represents a tiny portion of what Israel really costs America. Add the total costs of all the wars the US has fought for Israel. The Iraq war alone has cost America $815 billion and it’s still not over. It has benefitted no one but Israel–not America and certainly not Iraq. The number of Iraqis slaughtered in the US war and occupation of Iraq: 1,455,590...

Israelis, Saudis Just Getting Started in Opposing U.S.-Iran Detente, by Mitchell Plitnick | LobeLog
The trick to finding an agreement between the P5+1 world powers and Iran has become clear: keep Israel and Saudi Arabia out of the room. (But don’t expect them to be happy about it.) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is touring the globe now with his message of doom about an impending Iranian nuclear weapon. “It will be tragic if (Iran) succeeds in avoiding the sanctions,” Netanyahu said in Rome on Tuesday...

What a Surprise: U.S.-Based Iran “Experts” Promoting Israeli Policy | Going to Tehran
...The author of the remarkably Netanyahu-like Op Ed cited above is:  Ray Takeyh, the mainstream media’s long-time “go to” (if also perennially mistaken) Iran “expert” who advised Dennis Ross’s destructively incompetent handling of the Iran nuclear file during President Obama’s first term and is now back at the Council on Foreign Relations. America’s “Secret Wars” in Over 100 Countries Around the World, by Andrew Gavin Marshall | Dissident Voice
Obama’s global terror campaign is not only dependent upon his drone assassination program, but increasingly it has come to rely upon the deployment of Special Operations forces in countries all over the world, reportedly between 70 and 120 countries at any one time. As Obama has sought to draw down the large-scale ground invasions of countries (as Bush pursued in Afghanistan and Iraq), he has escalated the world of ‘covert warfare,’ largely outside the oversight of Congress and the public. One of the most important agencies in this global “secret war” is the Joint Special Operations Command, or JSOC for short...

Crying Wolf Over Iran, by Philip Giraldi | Antiwar
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been trying to convince the audience in both the United States and Europe that new Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is a "wolf in sheep’s clothing" intent on beguiling the west with empty promises while proceeding full speed with a nuclear weapons program. Unfortunately for Netanyahu, few are interested in hearing an argument that has been repeated over and over again for more than twenty years in one form or another regarding the imminence of a "Mullah nuke." If there is a true predatory beast tale intrinsic to the oft repeated narrative, it perhaps should be the story of the boy who cried wolf...

These enforcers, recently aided and abetted by Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing government, have painted critics who do not toe the party line or journalists who report uncomfortable facts as anti-Semitic, self-hating Jews or cheerleaders for terror. An Angel Song for Peace and an End to Violence, by Finian Cunningham | Veterans News
..America has long been accused of (or credited with) leading the world in whichever direction it takes. Einstein letter, on sale at Ebay, blamed Jewish terrorists for risking 'catastrophe' in Palestine, by Philip Weiss | Mondoweiss
Ebay is selling a letter written by Albert Einstein at the time of the Deir Yassin massacre in April 1948 to an American Zionist, denouncing the Zionist militias’ terrorist activities. U.S. Jews Battle Over Blumenthal’s “Goliath” | James M. Wall
The story of how Israel was born as a modern state out of the horrors of the Nakba has been subsumed in the story of the Holocaust. Blumenthal found that even a small reference to the Nakba in a third-grade Israeli text was deleted.  When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned to office he ordered all textbooks with Nakba references immediately confiscated. The narrative of the Palestinian Nakba threatens Israel’s self-understanding as a democratic state. What liberal Zionists don’t like to face is that the modern state of Israel is fast becoming an ideological Zionist state, driven by, in Haber’s phrase above, “core Zionist principles of the Ben Gurion school”..

The spinning and status of the Iran nuclear negotiations | Iran Affairs
I am greatly amused by efforts of our chattering classes to rewrite the history of the past 10 years to pretend that the reason for the lack of progress thus far in the US-Iran nuclear debacle has been Iran's intrasigence. The Leveretts point out that much of the media coverage starts out with the assumption that it is Iran's burden to make compromises to meet US demands, not vice versa, as if the obstacle to the resolution of the standoff thus long has been Iran and not the US with its excess demands that Iran abandon enrichment...

Being subjected to the Zionist lobby can get tedious—particularly its chronic parading of an often disoriented and fast-deteriorating fellow, who should surely be tending a vegetable or flower garden somewhere in Occupied Palestine, where he lives on stolen land. International lawyers, even some at Hebrew University, have come to recognize the half century of crimes against humanity meted out by Shimon Peres upon hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees, and thus one could be forgiven for rolling eyes at the Israeli president’s concerns over demons said to be haunting his sleeping and waking moments, as he complains that perhaps, just maybe, he was wrong in his calculations 70 years ago...

Outgoing New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg ranks 13th among Forbes magazine's global billionaires. He's America's 10th richest.. On October 21, he was awarded the first Genesis Prize. The Israeli government, Jewish Agency for Israel, and Genesis Philanthropy Group launched it.. he'll be honored for "exceptional values and achievements." Apparently they include making money the old-fashioned way, waging class warfare, targeting First Amendment rights, and enforcing racist harshness. Millions of ordinary New Yorkers understand best...

Torturing and Jailing Palestinian Children, by Ziad Abbas | CounterPunch
Although I have been living far from Palestine for a few years and I am now in my forties, I still have nightmares about the Israeli army invading my house when I was a child and about the first time I was tortured. This is the reality most Palestinian former prisoners live with for the rest of our lives...

Sectarianism: Redrawing the Map of Middle East, by Ramzy Baroud | Palestine Chronicle
...For nearly two decades, many warned that American military intervention in Iraq would eventually “destabilize” the entire region. The term “destabilize” was of course a relevant one, since Israel has done more than its fair share to destabilize several countries, occupy some and destroy others. But the prospects of political destabilization were much more ominous when the world’s most powerful country invested much of its might and financial resources to do the job. In 1990-91, then again in 2003, and once more in 2006, Iraq was used as a giant field of experimentation for war, “state building” and US-provoked civil war...

'Our' weaponized Wahhabi bastards, by Pepe Escobar | Asia Times Online
Life is good if you’re a member of the Gulf Counter-revolution Club, officially known as Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). You can crush the Arab Spring at will. You can hire goons all across dar-al-Islam to advance a sectarian Sunni-Shi’ite divide. You can be deeply implicated in the destruction of Syria. You can treat a significant part of your own population as third-class citizens. Not only you get away with it; you get rewarded with expensive toys...

A Peek at the Ideology of a Prominent NSA Defender, by Conor Friedersdorf | The Atlantic
...The scoop, based on documents leaked by Edward Snowden, exposes an ongoing surveillance practice that affects millions of Americans. It provides yet another proof of the fact that NSA defenders are misleading the public when they avow that the agency doesn't spy on American citizens. It permits a debate about whether the U.S. ought to be indiscriminately collecting address books and whether the practice is subject to adequate oversight. And it raises the question of whether it makes sense to permit data collection abroad that would be illegal if conducted within the United States...

Faulty history lures Americans into foolish interventions: The Myth of the Better War, by Christopher Preble | Reason
...he challenges the widely accepted idea that America's counterinsurgency wars-in Vietnam, Iraq, and now Afghanistan-"were made better simply by enlightened generals and improved tactics." This myth of the better war waged by better men has been used to rally the American people to support foreign interventions and re-interventions into situations that seemed lost. An exaggerated faith in counterinsurgency (COIN) will encourage similar misadventures in the future, he warns...

Israel and the Erosion of Democracy: An Australian Story, by Samah Sabawi | Palestine Chronicle
A few months ago I signed my name as co-defendant to a possible legal action threatened by an Israeli law firm, Shurat HaDin, targeting two Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies (CPACS) academics – Professors Jake Lynch and Stuart Rees for publically refusing to co-operate with Israel’s Hebrew university. Almost two thousand Australian and international academics, writers, human rights activists and other members of civil society have since joined this unprecedented historic act of solidarity signing as co-defendants along with the two targeted professors...

Suppressing and Manipulating 9/11 Truth using the internet, by Jim Fetzer | Veterans Today
...I am overwhelmed by the elegance and simplicity of the techniques that are being deployed to defeat the dissemination of 9/11 Truth to the American public.  By simply controlling the search engines, the government can insure that only a tiny percentage of the potential audience for an RT documentary on 9/11 will be seen; and by promoting extremely simple-minded productions about each of the victims–which are designed to appeal to small children and unsophisticated adults–they are effectively concealing the truth about 9/11 from those who most deserve to know...

David R. Griffin Reviews "September 11 - The New Pearl Harbor" | Amazon
There have been several really good films and videos about 9/11. But the new film by award-winning film-maker Massimo Mazzucco is in a class by itself. For those of us who have been working on 9/11 for a long time, this is the film we have been waiting for. Whereas there are excellent films treating the falsity of particular parts of the official account, such as the Twin Towers or WTC 7, Mazzucco has given us a comprehensive documentary treatment of 9/11, dealing with virtually all of the issues...

Another Nobel Peace Prize – Another Farce? by Felicity Arbuthnot | Global Research
...This year’s Peace Prize awarded, on Friday, 11th October, went to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) the Netherlands based organization, founded only in 1997, unheard of by most, charged with ridding the world of chemical weapons. The Award came ten days after an OPCW team arrived in Syria to eliminate the country’s chemical weapons stock. A brief visit in August had them scuttling out, an apparent courage free entity, within days...

War! What Is It Good For? Profit and Power, by William Astore | TomDispatch
It’s no news (and in fact rarely makes it off the inside pages of our newspapers) that the U.S. dominates -- one might almost say monopolizes -- the global arms market.  In 2011, the last year for which figures are available, U.S. weapons makers tripled their sales to $66.3 billion and were expected to remain in that range for 2012 as well.  In other words, they took 78% of the market that year, with Russia coming in a vanishingly distant second at $4.8 billion in sales...

Israel Cranks Up the PR Machine, by Max Blumenthal | The Nation
...While paranoia mounts inside Israeli policy circles about the rising tide of nonviolent global resistance, Netanyahu has grown obsessed with Israel’s withering image in the West. Under his guidance, the term “delegitimization” has become a household word signifying BDS and nearly everything done in the name of exposing Israel’s violations of international law. And thanks to Netanyahu’s instigation, Barack Obama has become the first American president to explicitly pledge to battle the pressure campaign...

The first one states that the government or anyone acting on its behalf cannot conduct negotiations with a view to partition Jerusalem or hand over any part of it without a majority of at least 80 Knesset members, i.e. a 2/3 majority. The second nails the first, claiming that if the government overlooks this prohibition, neither the negotiations nor any decision or agreement emanating from them will be binding...

The Evisceration of Yugoslavia Part V: A Kangaroo Court, by Dean Henderson | Veterans Today
The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) was created at the behest of the US and received its funding and direction from its NATO sponsors. The very concept of an ad hoc tribunal established with the intent of judging events that occur in only one geographic location violates the standard of equity of law.  Attempts by the world community to establish an International Criminal Court, which would have jurisdiction around the world, have failed due to US insistence that American citizens be exempt from prosecution by the court...

We Don’t Need More ‘Spin’ About NSA’s Unconstitutional Domestic Snooping, We Need It Stopped, by Ivan Eland | The Independent Institute
In response to an avalanche of criticism over revelations of his National Security Agency’s (NSA’s) bulk collection of Americans’ telephone and other electronic metadata, General Keith B. Alexander argued that he and his agency simply need to do a better job explaining what they do to the American people...

Bankrupt at Home and Abroad, Syria Shows Washington is a Spent Geopolitical Player, by Finian Cunningham | Strategic Culture Foundation
US policy on Syria could be described as «a comedy of errors» if the consequences for human suffering were not so brutal. Having largely created a quagmire of terrorism and lawlessness in Syria through covert insurgency operations over the past two and half years, the US government looks like a hapless Doctor Frankenstein who has lost control of the beast, or should we say beasts. The creation from the laboratory of American regime change has many forms, from savage death squads on the ground to effete exile political groups ensconced in five-star Persian Gulf hotels...

Reclaiming Judaism from Zionism, by Ilan Pappe | The Electronic Intifada
When the Zionist movement appeared in Eastern Europe in the 1880s, it found it very difficult to persuade the leading rabbis and secular Jewish thinkers of the day to support it. The leading rabbis saw the political history in the Bible and the idea of Jewish sovereignty on the land of Israel as very marginal topics and were much more concerned, as indeed Judaism as a religion was, with the holy tracts that focused on the relationship between the believers themselves and in particular their relations with God. Secular liberal or socialist Jews also found the idea of Jewish nationalism unattractive...

Rouhani is West’s best bet in Iran, by Seyed Hossein Mousavian | Gulf News
...These examples illustrate that when Iran decides to accomplish a goal, its unyielding determination often accomplishes the goal, despite pressure and opposition from the West. Iran’s decision to avoid building weapons of mass destruction, of all kinds, is not because of the US threats and pressure. If Iran had in fact made the decision to develop nuclear weapons, the notion that pressure and even the use of force might prevent Iran from accomplishing this fails to hold up in consideration of prior achievements...

Iran Hawks Down but Not Out After Geneva, by Jim Lobe | LobeLog

The Israel Lobby Cowbird | Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy
How is the Israel lobby like a swarm of cowbirds?  Cowbirds use the devious strategy of brood parasitism, arriving at the nest of more parentally-oriented birds to lay their own eggs.  Cowbirds then enjoy unburdened freedom to forage and thrive while their own young are raised, fed and protected by unsuspecting parents.  If an avian host dares remove the cowbird's offspring, the host's own eggs—if not the entire nest—will likely be destroyed by the watchful cowbird...

The Human Costs of the Iran Sanctions, by Joy Gordon | Foreign Policy
In June of last year, an American college student walked into the Apple store in Alpharetta, Georgia, to buy an iPad, chatting with her uncle in Farsi. The store clerk asked what language they were speaking, then refused to sell the young woman an iPad, citing U.S. sanctions against Iran ... although there is no law that prohibits U.S. companies from selling to U.S. citizens of Iranian descent. The Last of the Sheiks? by Christopher M. Davidson |  NYT
This summer, disgruntled Saudis took their grievances online in droves, complaining of ever-growing inequality, rising poverty, corruption and unemployment. Their Twitter campaign became one of the world’s highest trending topics. It caused great alarm within elite circles in Saudi Arabia and sent ripples throughout the region. The rallying cry that “salaries are not enough” helped to prove that the monarchy’s social contract with its people is now publicly coming unstuck, and on a significant scale...

Israel Vanishes Settlements while Tricking Iran | Roi Tov
"The Jewish Brain Invents Patents" is an Israeli idiom used to denote a wild act, usually by the government; it is never a positive comment. A purposeful violation of the law, for example, the forced sterilization of Ethiopian women would enter this category. It was impossible not to recall it on October 17, 2013, when Israel published a plan to vanish settlements from international media while offering Iran to freeze settlements construction in exchange for Iran stopping its nuclear centrifuges. The Jewish brain may invent patents, but it forgot to protect them, disclosing its planned tricks over the media. "Thank you," said Iran while meticulously collecting the data...

'Old Nazi' Erich Priebke  speaking on camera in 1994 and in an interview three months before his death | Paul Eisen
The Allied bombing in 1945 have left the camp without food, water and medicines. It has spread typhus epidemic that has claimed thousands of sick and dead. Those movies date back to those facts, when the refugee camp of Bergen Belsen devastated by the epidemic, in April 1945, was now in the hands of the Allies. The shooting was specially filmed for propaganda purposes, by British director Hitchcock, the master of horror. It’s frightening the cynicism, the lack of sense of humanity with which even today is speculation with those images.. A fake!..

Supreme Court to Israel: "Stop Robbing" | Roi Tov
On October 18, 2013, Israel's Supreme Court ruled in the case of the Jehoash Tablet and the James Ossuary, ending a 7-year affair in a rather embarrassing fashion. The State of Israel had robbed the artifacts' owner. Unlike in Greece, in Israel archeology is considered more than a tax-generating business by the state. It offers the opportunity to rewrite history, to delete Palestinians and recreate Biblical Israel. Recently, two events provided colorful reminders of these industrious fabrications...

The ferocity and failure of America’s sanctions apparatus: A Very Perfect Instrument, by Andrew Cockburn | ICH
Not until five months after the armistice that ended WWI did the Allies allow Germany to import food — not out of concern for the ongoing death and suffering, but out of fear that desperate Germans would follow the Russians into Bolshevism. By the time it was lifted, the peacetime blockade had killed about a quarter of a million people, including many children who either starved or died from diseases associated with malnutrition. A survey of 600 young Nazis on their motivations for supporting Hitler suggested that a major influence was their vivid memories of childhood hunger and privation...

How US Pressure Bends UN Agencies, by Robert Parry | Consortium News
For at least the past dozen years, the U.S. government has aggressively sought to gain control of the leadership of key United Nations agencies, including the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) which is central to the dispute over the Syrian government’s alleged use of Sarin gas on Aug. 21. Yet, despite evidence that this U.S. manipulation can twist the findings of these UN groups in ways favored by Official Washington, the mainstream American press usually leaves out this context and treats UN findings — or at least those that side with the U.S. government – as independent and beyond reproach, including the OPCW’s recent reporting on the Syrian dispute...

Ideological Disaster, by Lawrence Davidson | OpEd News
In the eighteenth century the West shifted from mercantilism to capitalism. Mercantilism was an economic system that gave governments wide-ranging regulatory powers over commerce, mostly to ensure a positive balance of trade. It also allowed for strong guild structures and protection for domestic industries. However, the Industrial Revolution ended mercantilism and brought to power a business class that wanted to be free to operate without government oversight. As the capitalist worldview evolved, it made a fetish out of the "free market" and viewed government as, at best, a necessary evil. Any sort of regulation was seen as the equivalent of slavery...

The Chomsky-Vltchek Worldview | Richard Falk
...After finishing the book my immediate reaction was that ‘Chomsky knows everything’ and ‘Vltchek has been everywhere and done everything.’ Omniscience and omnipresence are not often encountered, being primary attributes commonly attributed by theologians to a monotheistic god! Leaving aside this hyperbole, one is stunned throughout by the quality of the deep knowledge and compassion exhibited by these two public intellectuals, and even more by their deeply felt sympathy for all those being victimized as a result of the way in which the world is organized and Western hard power has been and is being deployed...

1993-2013: is the twenty years long "pas de deux" of Russia and the USA coming to an end? | The Vineyard of the Saker
The latest tensions between the EU and Russia over Greenpeace's stunt in the Arctic only confirmed a fact which nobody really bothers denying anymore: Western political and financial elites absolutely hate Vladimir Putin and they are appalled at Russia's behavior, both inside Russia and on the international scene.  This tension was quite visible on the faces of Obama and Putin at the G8 summit in Lough Erne where both leaders looked absolutely disgusted with each other.  Things got even worse when Putin did something quite unheard of in the Russian diplomatic history: he publicly  said that Kerry was dishonest and even called him a liar...

Should the ICC indict itself for war crimes? by Gordon Duff | Veterans Today
Since its inception in 2002, there have been hundreds of attempts to present evidence to the ICC over 9/11, the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq and the tens of thousands of subsequent war crimes, whose origins were proven a “false flag” attack, could lead to a cascade of historic indictments. Considering the timing of the ratification of the 1998 Treaty of Rome, just after 9/11, the signing of the treaty by President Clinton and the failure of the US to ratify the treaty, the chain of events, in itself, is more than coincidental...

No alternative to Full Liberation, by Nahida | Poetry for Palestine
Promoting “one state” after the failure of the “two states” means in plain language: Inviting the Zionist entity to ANNEX and OCCUPY what is left of Palestine, blessing the invaders with the “right” to keep their LOOT of whatever they have captured through wars of conquest and aggression, enabling the invaders to ENLARGE and EXPAND their entity, a small step towards a “greater israel,” embracing the finalization of the Zionist project.. Campaigning to upgrade the Palestinians’ status from “occupied” to “slaves”, living under the boot of Jewish supremacists who see Palestinians and other goyim as animals created only to serve Jews...

Israeli soccer team re-named “The Fighting Goys,” by Kevin Barrett | Veterans Today
Adding a new chapter to the history of racist sports teams names, the Israeli Knesset voted Thursday to call its national soccer team “The Fighting Goys.” The vote honored the memory of the late Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, who became the most popular rabbi in Israeli history by stating that non-Jews were created to be the slaves of the Jews, and calling for the genocidal annihilation of Arabs.. Since we consider the goyim (non-Jews) to be at or below the level of animals, and are looking forward to their extermination, ‘The Fighting Goys’ is a perfect name for our national soccer team.”..
[I think this is satire, but given what the Israelis are capable of I’m not 100% sure.]

What Comes Next?: A forum on the end of the two-state paradigm | Mondoweiss
“What Comes Next?: A forum on the end of the two-state paradigm” was initiated by Jewish Voice for Peace as an investigation into the current state of thinking about one state and two state solutions, and the collection has been further expanded by Mondoweiss to mark 20 years since the beginning of the Oslo peace process...

U.S. Campaign Against Turkish Spy Chief Continues | Moon of Alabama
Human Rights Watch and the Wall Street Journal blamed Turkey and especially its intelligence chief Hakan Fidan for supporting the "bad" insurgents and terrorists in Syria and to thereby hindering the U.S. plans to use the "good" insurgents and terrorists to achieve regime change there. The recent allegations were also covered in the Turkish press, often in support of the Turkish government strategy.  U.S. interference and the recent campaign against Hakan Fidan continue...

50,000 Syrian Christians ask for Russian citizenship | Interfax
A group of Syrian Christians have applied for Russian citizenship, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry. "Since Syrian law allows dual citizenship, we have decided to seek citizenship of the Russian Federation if this is possible. Russian citizenship would be an honor for any Syrian Christian who wished to acquire it," the group said in a letter to the Russian Foreign Ministry. "Our appeal does not mean that we have any mistrust in the Syrian army or government. However, we are scared of the conspiracy of the West and hateful fanatics who are waging a brutal war against our country," the letter says...

Russia's Middle Eastern Frontier, by Nikolai Malishevski | Strategic Culture Foundation
...Since the beginning of the Arab spring and the aggression against Syria, Qatar has begun to play a key role in America's anti-Russian plans, as it has: a) colossal gas reserves, in which respect this small country has already surpassed Gazprom, b) a huge fleet of 54 special Q-max and Q-flex ships for transporting liquefied gas, and c) the largest gas field in the world, the Northern field, for which the moratorium on development ends in 2014. Most likely, that is when the deciding battle for Syria will take place and the all-out «gas» attack on Russia will begin...

Drones, the Media and Malala's Message, by Peter Hart | FAIR
...Farea al-Muslimi, a Yemeni writer and activist, came to Washington to deliver moving testimony  to the Senate Judiciary Committee about the effect of drone strikes on his country: "What the violent militants had previously failed to achieve, one drone strike accomplished in an instant. There is now an intense anger against America." His words received scant coverage in the US media. If Americans wish to understand how US wars are experienced by those on the other side of the military attacks, it is important to hear these voices. But will US media allow these voices to be heard?..

Iran Allowed Inspections Far Exceeding Additional Protocol | IRD
...Iran has also repeatedly offered to not only ratify the Additional Protocol (AP) but impose limits on its nuclear program well beyond the AP, as long as its right to enrichment is recognized - and it is not, so that’s where the problem lies, not with Iran. Meanwhile Mossad simultaneously trained the Tamils’ enemies (the Singhalese) in Israel, but did not tell the main Tamil army, or the main Indian government, or anyone else. In Israel they kept both the groups apart. Their purpose for this, as always, was to fan the war to a fever pitch, and make a fortune as the Goyim kill each other...

Even the World Bank Understands: Palestine is Being Disappeared, by Jonathan Cook | Palestine Chronicle
Two recent images encapsulate the message behind the dry statistics of last week’s report by the World Bank on the state of the Palestinian economy. The first is a poster from the campaigning group Visualising Palestine that shows a photoshopped image of Central Park, eerily naked. Amid New York’s skyscrapers, the park has been sheared of its trees by bulldozers. A caption reveals that since the occupation began in 1967, Israel has uprooted 800,000 olive trees belonging to Palestinians, enough to fill 33 Central Parks...

Israelis Turning Blood into Money: The Lab Review, by Vacy Vlazna | Palestine Chronicle
Warning! The Lab contains war-porn and hard-core evil; watch and weep. Yotam Feldman’s  documentary, released in August, is one of the most important exposés of the obscene rationale and execution of Israel’s hugely lucrative arms and security  industries through the voices of some of its ex-military key operators: Amos Golan, Shimon Naveh, Leo Gleser, and Yoav Galant. Israel’s armament juggernaut currently turns over $7 billion p.a. and its phenomenal success is, as Feldman reveals, due to experience, that is, the testing of weaponry on the Palestinian population in the Israeli military ‘labs’ of Gaza and the West Bank:..

Re-assessing Political Islam: Part II, by Eric Walberg | OpEd News
...The support of the newly uncorrupt government by the vast majority provided a brief window of justice (a doubling of the minimum wage, new freedoms for Islamists to organize grassroots initiatives to help the poor and encourage a revival of the faith, honest elections), despite the active sabotage of the old state structures, which the coup abruptly ended. Secular leaders, watching as the "soft state' now under the direction of the Islamists became less and less relevant, mounted a hysterical campaign to overthrow the popular government, abandoning the revolution and calling on the old guard to take back control through brute force to end all pretense to justice...

“Jerusalem the Red Line,” by Stuart Littlewood | Redress Information & Analysis
...Palestinian leaders are notoriously clueless about the media, public affairs, diplomacy and holding Israel to account for its crimes – the “other options” Meshaal once spoke of. They won’t learn, won’t even make the effort. And that applies to both the PA and Hamas. The cost of their incompetence to ordinary Palestinians is incalculable. So, they are left with having to fight, which they are entitled to do. But how successful have they been so far? And is armed resistance really a game they are equipped for?..

70 percent rise in settlement construction starts | Maan News
New settlement construction starts rose by 70 percent in the first half of 2013 compared with a year earlier, an Israeli NGO said Thursday, describing the increase as "drastic". The Serpent and the Red Line, by William A. Cook | MCW News
..The first warning we had concerning the nature of a Red Line came from the Serpent (read Satan) that leered enticingly from Yahweh’s Tree of Good and Evil as Eve sauntered near. He knew the nature of G-d’s creatures; he knew that if he were to conquer G-d he must open Eve’s and Adam’s eyes to their true nature, the depraved nature that rules by arrogance, treachery, hubris and power. He knew that Yahweh had opened the door to that depravity by decree:..

The birth of the 'de-Americanized' world, by Pepe Escobar | Asia Times Online
This is it. China has had enough. The (diplomatic) gloves are off. It's time to build a "de-Americanized" world. It's time for a "new international reserve currency" to replace the US dollar. It's all here, in a Xinhua editorial, straight from the dragon's mouth. And the year is only 2013. Fasten your seat belts - and that applies especially to the Washington elites. It's gonna be a bumpy ride...

Will the U.S. Actually Try Diplomacy with Iran? | Stephen M. Walt
...Iranian and American negotiators, along with the other members of the P5+1, are meeting in Geneva to discuss the nuclear dispute that has divided Iran and these nations for many years. The core issues are: 1) how much of Iran's present nuclear capacity might it be willing to give up, 2) the scope of international inspections of Iran's remaining facilities, and 3) the speed with which the United States and others will lift the economic sanctions they have imposed on Iran.. the hard-line position of issuing threats, imposing sanctions, and insisting that Iran give in to all our demands has backfired and put us in a worse position today...

Hooray, we brought the Iranian people to their knees, by Larry Derfner | +972 Magazine
And I’m sure this is true. I don’t doubt that the reason Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei changed his tune, or the reason President Hassan Rouhani got elected, was because the sanctions had devastated the Iranian economy. But what does it mean to devastate the economy of a country of 80 million people? How do you bring a country’s economy to its knees without bringing the country’s people to their knees, too? You can’t, can you?..

Russian official rules out Arafat polonium poisoning | Yahoo News
The head of a Russian forensics agency said on Tuesday that samples from the body of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat had revealed no traces of radioactive polonium, a Russian news agency reported.. If confirmed, the findings would deal a blow to Palestinian suspicions that Arafat was assassinated by Israel - a theory fuelled by a Swiss lab report last year which found unusual amounts of the deadly isotope polonium on his clothes...

Half a million Iraqis died from war-related causes since US invasion | Al Akhbar
Nearly half a million people have died from war-related causes in Iraq since the US-led invasion in 2003, according to an academic study published in the United States on Tuesday. The forgotten story of Iran Air Flight 655, by Max Fisher
If you walked into any high school classroom in the United States and asked the students to describe their country's relationship with Iran, you'd probably hear words like "enemy" and "threat," maybe "distrust" and "nuclear." But ask them what the number 655 has to do with it, and you'd be met with silence. Try the same thing in an Iranian classroom, asking about the United States, and you'd probably hear some of the same words. Mention the number 655, though, it's a safe bet that at least a few of the students would immediately know what you were talking about...

John Kerry: “Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire,” by Jeffrey K. Silverman | Veterans Today

West's toxic lie on Syria exposed, by Finian Cunningham | PressTV
There is a growing host of evidence that.. supports an altogether more credible and disturbing narrative. Namely, that a large-scale killing took place near Damascus on 21 August involving Saudi and Western military intelligence in collusion with the foreign-backed anti-government mercenaries. Civilians, including children, were murdered in cold blood, perhaps by lethal injection, in order to stage a provocation that was aimed as a pretext for a US-led military assault on Syria. That all-out attack on Syria was all the more pressing because of the floundering regime-change objective of the Axis of Evil comprising Washington, London, Paris, Riyadh, Doha, Tel Aviv, Amman and Ankara...

Iran Hopes to Join Brics Group to Beat US-led Sanctions | IBTimes UK
Iran is looking to join the Brics nations in order to subvert US-imposed sanctions which have been crippling the country's oil-based economy. Iran, which continues to enjoy a relatively cosy relationship with the Brics countries - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - despite a severe economic clampdown, has been scouting for opportunities across the world in order to boost its oil resources, the nerve-centre of the country's economy. Defying the US over the sanctions, the Brics group was also seen as favourable towards Iran over the latter's contentious nuclear programme...

With the government partially closed for over two weeks now and the debt-ceiling deadline upon us, the pundits are demanding that the “grown-ups in the room” finally put a stop to the childish goings-on in Washington. That would be nice — except there are no grown-ups in the room. If you seek evidence, just look around. A Trip Through the Negev Desert Leads to the Heart of Israel’s National Nightmare, by Max Blumenthal | Truthout
...Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu seamlessly blended frightening details of Iranian evildoing with images of defenseless Jews “bludgeoned” and “left for dead” by anti-Semites in nineteenth century Europe. Aimed at U.S. and Iranian moves towards diplomacy and a war-weary American public, Netanyahu’s gloomy tirade threatened to cast him as a desperate, diminished figure. Though it was poorly received in the U.S., alienating even a few of his stalwart pro-Israel allies, his jeremiad served a greater purpose, deflecting attention from his country's policies towards the group he scarcely mentioned: the Palestinians...

Kerry, Kerry, Quite Contrary: US Secretary of State Reveals Ignorance on Iranian Nuclear Program | Wide Asleep in America
In an extensive interview with Scott Pelley on CBS' "60 Minutes" this past Sunday evening, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry revealed a startling lack of awareness of certain basic facts regarding Iran's nuclear program and the history of various proposals Iran has made to alleviate suspicion over its intentions. Zion: "Jerusalem is Ottoman" | Roi Tov
...The Old City is the name of the area enclosed by an Ottoman Empire Wall, which by local standards cannot be considered truly old; it is not even middle-aged, it was built in 1538 by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Biblical Golgotha is within its walls; within them everything is quite flat, to the extent that it is difficult to imagine the Via Dolorosa as the steep way Jesus walked to His crucifixion. In their violent worldview, ignorant of history, violating denizens and traditions, Zionists made a hilarious error. While claiming to be the legal successors of Biblical Israel, they are restoring their unrecognized capital as the Ottoman city it was. Israel's message is "Jerusalem is Ottoman."..

Will Obama Blow His Diplomatic Opportunity with Iran? | Going to Tehran
...Obama will face enormous and largely self-inflicted legal difficulties in lifting or modifying U.S. sanctions to encourage and support diplomatic progress on the nuclear issue.  During Obama’s presidency, many U.S. sanctions that started out as executive order sanctions have been written into law, with conditions for their removal that go well beyond progress on the nuclear issue.  These conditions include requirements that Tehran cut its ties to groups like Hizballah that the United States foolishly designates as terrorist organizations and effectively transform the Islamic Republic into a secular liberal republic...

Iranian Sabotage Compromises Entire Israeli Drone Fleet, Saudi Arabia Stations Israeli Drones for Iran Attack on Its Territory | Tikun Olam
...He says that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, operating out of the Bekaa Valley, have so compromised Israel’s drone fleet that it cannot be used for the critical mission Israel has set for them: to disable Iran’s air defenses as preparation for an IAF assault on Iranian targets, including its nuclear program.  Without UAV capability, Israel must use conventional means to knock out Iran’s anti-aircraft systems.  That would be too costly considering distance and other technical challenges.  All this leads to the possible conclusion that if Bibi attacks Iran he would have to consider very seriously using a nuclear weapon (or as the source calls it, ‘BVR tactical nukes’)..

The Fed and US could simply CANCEL all $5 trillion of intragovernment debt, by Carl Herman | Examiner
Congressman Alan Grayson is correct that the Fed could cancel its own US national debt holdings of ~$2 trillion. This could begin public justice from how our current system transfers public assets into 1% private profits: currently conservatively estimated at $30 trillion held in tax-free offshore accounts, and satirized in South Park’s Emmy Award-winning episode on our bailing out the big banks with the catchline, “And it’s gone.”..

Where Journalism Collides With State ‘Security’: BBC News, MI5 And The Mantra Of ‘Keeping People Safe,’ by David Cromwell | Media Lens
...the professed upholding of BBC 'impartiality' translates in practice to providing the propaganda version of reality. After all, as Mencken observed, a major state function is to convince the public that the government is protecting it from threats. It would not be responsible BBC journalism to recognise that government policies put British people at risk by, for instance, launching illegal wars of aggression likely to lead to blowback – a genuine risk well understood by the state and, indeed, with the kind of horrific consequences seen in the London 7/7 bombings in 2005. As John Pilger noted recently:..

U.S. fiscal failure warrants a de-Americanized world, by Liu Chang | Xinhua
As U.S. politicians of both political parties are still shuffling back and forth between the White House and the Capitol Hill without striking a viable deal to bring normality to the body politic they brag about, it is perhaps a good time for the befuddled world to start considering building a de-Americanized world. Emerging from the bloodshed of the Second World War as the world's most powerful nation, the United States has since then been trying to build a global empire by imposing a postwar world order, fueling recovery in Europe, and encouraging regime-change in nations that it deems hardly Washington-friendly...

National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden, from his asylum in Russia, accepted an award on Wednesday from a group of former US intelligence officials expressing support for his decision to divulge secrets about the NSA’s electronic surveillance of Americans and people around the globe. The award, named in honor of the late CIA analyst Sam Adams, was presented to Snowden at a ceremony in Moscow by previous recipients of the award bestowed by the Sam Adams Associates for Integrity in Intelligence (SAAII)...

A little girl and a little boy and 120 years of history, by Adam Keller | Crazy Country
...Last weekend, a hooded Palestinian cut the fence and entered into Psagot. He encountered a 9-year old girl, named Noam Glick, who was playing in the backyard, and wounded her. The girl cried out and the Palestinian escaped. The girl's father, Israel Glick, who is among the founders of the settlement, told the media representatives who had immediately arrived: "My daughter is a heroine! She saved all of us." The girl was taken to hospital and her wound fortunately turned out to be light. This case is known to everybody in Israel, even to those who give the news only a brief glance...

Post-Intervention Libya: A Militia State | Richard Falk
...The capture of Ali Zeidan was reportedly prompted both by anger at the government’s impotence in the face of such an overt violation of Libyan sovereignty by the United States, as well as serving to warn the political leadership of the country that any further effort to disarm militias would be resisted. Ali Zeidan seizure was largely symbolic. He was held by his captors for only a few hours before being released. Nevertheless, the ease of the kidnapping sent shivers down the spine of the Western countries that had been so proud two years ago of their regime-changing intervention under NATO auspices...

Maltreatment of Muslim Prisoners in The U.S., by Sherwood Ross | OpEd News
...The arrest and conviction of Muslims on flimsy conspiracy charges often instigated by FBI informants reveals spreading corruption in the American legal system.  "After 9/11/2001 the Bush/Obama administrations have constructed an American Police State using Arabs and Muslims as their pretexts and  scapegoats," says Francis Boyle, distinguished international legal authority and professor of law at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. "It is reminiscent of the  Nazi government's persecution of the German  Jews before the outbreak of World War II. Arabs and Muslims have become the New Jews in Police State America that is  now slouching towards a military dictatorship and World War III."..

Power Sharing in Syria: Lessons from Lebanon's Taif Experience, by Stephan Rosiny | Middle East Policy Council
...In 2012, Lakhdar Brahimi, the UN and Arab League special envoy for Syria, warned that the violence could turn Syria into another "failed state" like Somalia.1 Others drew a comparison with neighboring Lebanon, given that ethnic and sectarian identities had turned into deterministic markers for violence and thrown the country into a devastating civil war. Only after sixteen years did the Taif agreement help end the circle of violence there. Could a similar power-sharing model be applied to today's Syria?..

Obscuring the Details: A Panoramic Look at America’s Case Against Syria, by Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya | Strategic Culture Foundation
The US federal government and the various agencies, media organizations, individuals, foreign governments, non-governmental organizations, lobbies, forces, and other entities that are tied to it have done everything in their power to obscure the details involving the chemical attacks in that took place in Syria on August 21, 2013. The aim has been to justify the US-led foreign campaign that was launched against Syria in 2011 by making the Syrian government appear culpable of grievous crimes. The chemical attack on Ghouta has now come to represent the crux of the matter...

The West must be flexible in dealing with Iran, by Peter Jenkins | Telegraph
By his diplomacy since taking office, President Rouhani of Iran has done enough to suggest that, after eight bleak years, the reins of government are once more in the hands of men with whom the West can do business. Drawing a parallel with the situation in 1985 when Mikhail Gorbachev took over the leadership of the Soviet Union would not be inappropriate. It is best not done in the hearing of Mr Rouhani’s Iranian well-wishers, though, since they are aware that many Russians now take a dim view of Mr Gorbachev and his policies...

Israelis gather to remember slain Rabin | Al Jazeera
Tens of thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv to mourn peace-seeking prime minister Yitzhak Rabin on the 18th anniversary of his assassination by a Jewish extremist. The protestors that gathered on Saturday were mainly young people representing a wide political spectrum but protesting against Israeli radicals opposed to peace with the Palestinians. The protestors carried portraits of the peace-seeking Rabin – who was assassinated after addressing a rally in the same square on November 4, 1995 – and banners with slogans condemning racism and intolerance...

We made our documentary film Valentino's Ghost because we want to help build bridges with this film, bridges of understanding that can lead to tolerance, to take steps on the path towards justice, and even toward the peace that comes with it. It's about how America's foreign policies in the Middle East drive and shape the way that way that Arabs, Muslims and Islam are portrayed by the mainstream media and Hollywood.  We start with the romantic, exotic Arab of Rudolph Valentino's "Sheik" films, and end with the Arab Muslim today, as the embodiment of evil.  What happened?..

Iran-Israel Relations Yesterday and Today, by Vladimir Simonov | Veterans Today
Reading the reviews and comments on an article about the current tensions between Iran and Israel, which sometimes are on the brink of war or at least Tel Aviv’s threats to carry out missile and bomb strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear program, one cannot help but be amazed at the short historical memory we humans have. There are few people now who remember that in early 1950, Iran was the second Islamic state in the Middle East after Turkey to recognize Israel de facto...

François Hollande Missteps Put France on Levant Sidelines, by Franklin Lamb | Al Manar
In modern times, France has done far better diplomatically when it has advocated against impetuous military involvement in the internal affairs of other countries. French standing in international politics has been highest when its government was cautious about its military involvement in favor of assuming the posture of the wise voice of Old World Europe counseling the impetuousness upstarts of the New World. When Charles de Gaulle told Kennedy, then Johnson, to stay out of Vietnam, his international standing skyrocketed. When Chirac told Bush not to go into Iraq, the same thing happened as history repeated...

The Weight of Tradition: Why Judaism is Not Like Other Religions, by Mark Weber | Paul Eisen
..It addresses an issue I'd touched on.. the degree to which the Jewish character is formed by Judaism and its texts. There, I claimed that although the naked supremacism of Jewish texts must inevitably inform present day Jewish feelings, it would be a mistake to rely too heavily on them in trying to understand the thoughts, feelings and behaviour of Jews we know. I still believe that, but here, Mark Weber does a pretty good job of convincing me otherwise...

Israel’s Empty Threats Against Iran | Tikun Olam
Israel’s Air Force regularly trains for attacking Iran.  I’ve written several posts about previous war games exercises in Greece and Romania.  The latter in 2004 ended in a helicopter crash during an exercise in which the IAF was simulating flight and landings at very high altitude.  This type of operation might be necessary to rescue an Israeli pilot shot down over Iran’s mountainous terrain...

Syria: Turkey Blamed For "Regime Change" Failure | Moon of Alabama
Ten days ago the Guardian was the first "western" media to report on a massacre U.S supported insurgents and terrorists had committed back in August in Syria's Latakia governate. U.S. media did not follow up on this. But now Human Rights Watch, a U.S. influenced para-government organization which has intensely propagandized against the Syrian government, is publishing a report on Executions, Unlawful Killings, and Hostage Taking by Opposition Forces in Latakia Countryside. The fact that such a report is now published by HRW can be interpreted as a sign that U.S. policies on Syria are changing sides and will now, slowly slowly, turn against the insurgents and in favor of the Syrian government...

As Usual, Orientalism Employed to Undermine Diplomacy with Iran | Wide Asleep in America
As talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the P5+1 (China, France, Great Britain, Russia, the United States and Germany) over Iran’s nuclear program are set to resume on October 15 after a long hiatus, much is being written by establishment analysts and the Beltway think tank commentariat about the potential for a diplomatic breakthrough and what it will take to get there. As always, racist and derogatory tropes – echoed, if not influenced, by the often disparaging and ignorant words of both Western and Israeli officials about Iran – are common in assessing what is often referred to as “the Persian mind.”..

Israeli Claim of Iranian ICBM Exploits Biased U.S. Intel, by Gareth Porter | IPS
In an effort to provoke any possible opposition in U.S. political circles to a nuclear deal with Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has returned to exploiting an old claim that Iran is building intercontinental ballistic missiles that could hit the United States.. Michael Elleman of the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies, the author of an authoritative study on Iran’s missile programme, told IPS, “I’ve seen no evidence of Iranian ICBM development, let alone a capability.”..

The law is sometimes called the Faurisson Law because it was brought in to deal with that pesky professor who would insist on his demand: "Show me or draw me a Nazi gas chamber!” Of course no one did, because no one could. And why could they not? Simple. Because homicidal Nazi gas-chambers didn't (and couldn't) exist...

The Al-Shabab group was the main target of the operation. This was of course a military operation against a sovereign state. President of Somalia Sharif Ahmed stated very clear that he welcomed Kenyan logistical support, but he was against the Kenyan military presence in Somalia..

Two States or One? The Future of Israelis and Palestinians | Middle East Policy Council
The Middle East Policy Council's 74th Capitol Hill Conference featured a lively debate on what is possible versus what is plausible in resolving the dispute between Israelis and Palestinians. Some panelists offered a vigorous defense of the two-state solution, arguing that despite myriad challenges, this path is the best chance for long-term peace, security and justice for Palestinians and Israelis alike. Others portrayed it as a "two-state illusion," viewing the current negotiations as only deepening the oppressive conditions for Palestinians by relying on outdated assumptions about how to resolve the conflict...

The Militarization of Liberalism, by Norman Pollack | CounterPunch
...when I refer to the militarization of liberalism, I mean its predisposition to global hegemony, the dedication to Cold War policies, in part, for proving its nonradical credentials, in part, because, in its haste to ward off suspicions of un-Americanism and adopt a posture of super-patriotism, it actually has the conviction that freedom and capitalism are synonymous if not identical, and finally, the gullible belief and pride that capitalist expansion is America’s duty to the world.  In all of these cases, militarism is the ratifying condition for their respective realization...

The Latest Step in the Evolution of America’s Police State, by William Blum | CounterPunch
“If you’ve got nothing to hide, you’ve got nothing to fear.” So say many Americans. And many Germans as well. But one German, Ilija Trojanow, would disagree. He has lent his name to published documents denouncing the National Security Agency (NSA), and was one of several prominent German authors who signed a letter to Chancellor Angela Merkel urging her to take a firm stance against the mass online surveillance conducted by the NSA. Trojanow and the other authors had nothing to hide, which is why the letter was published for the public to read. What happened after that, however...

A Syrian Solution? by Philip Giraldi | Antiwar

The Messianic, Apocalyptic Bibi Netanyahu, by Jim Lobe | LobeLog
...it’s difficult to tell whether Netanyahu actually believes any of this or is just trying to rally support for Israel’s hard-line positions and deflect international attention from the Palestinian question. While we are inclined to view his rhetoric as mostly cynical, his recently-espoused claim that Iranians are not permitted to wear jeans or listen to western music suggests that we can’t completely discount sheer ignorance or a Manichaean worldview that can’t reconcile blue jeans with his image of the Islamic Republic. In either case, we can probably expect his rhetoric to become increasingly messianic and apocalyptic if and when the possibility of peace between the US and Iran increases...

Libya: America's New Playground | Scott McPherson

The Failure of War as an Instrument of Foreign Policy, by William John Cox | CounterPunch
...The use of war as an instrument of foreign policy fails in all of these situations because it does not produce the desired change; it injures the innocent victims of their unrepresentative governments and results in their hatred of the aggressors, rather than their oppressors. In addition, the use of war by the United States also harms its own people through the wasteful diversion of scarce tax resources to the military-industrial complex, the compiling of massive and unsustainable public debt, and a reduction of personal freedoms by the intelligence-security complex...

The writer seems to think that these Jewish activists are useful for what they are able and willing to do i.e. opposing the post-1967 occupation even if they are utterly useless at opposing the 1948 occupation and, even more useless at opposing the current Jewish 'occupation' of America and the west. It's very nice of him but I think Dr Slattery is far too kind to us Jews...

“The world is antisemitic”, Oh… Really ! | Poetry for Palestine
Through my interaction with many people of Jewish background, I began to notice that many amongst them have been conditioned and psychologically indoctrinated to think in terms of “us, and the world“. The nature of the state of connectedness between them and the world is defined from a very young age in an unhealthy terms, thus as they grow older, the dynamics of this twisted relationship takes a very peculiar slant, an unbalanced bondage between an innocent persecuted perpetually victimised minority and a hostile, ruthless, hateful world collective...

Israelis Angry At Court Ruling On Africans | YouTube
On September 16, 2013, Israel's Supreme Court overruled an amendment that the Knesset tacked on to the country's Anti-Infiltration Law in January 2012. The amendment authorized the automatic incarceration without trial of all Africans who enter the country asking for asylum. Since the amendment came into effect, about 2,000 Africans have been jailed by Israel. The court now ruled that they must be released. The next day, on September 17, 2013, residents of South Tel Aviv, where about 30,000 African asylum-seekers already live, protested the court's decision...

Academic Witchcraft Course to Solve Israel's Emigration | Roi Tov
...On October 9, a report recently published by the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies in Israel reached the media. It claims that Israel has the worst rate of brain drain in West while over the past 40 years, the expenditure per student plummeted along with the number of senior faculty members at Israeli universities. The report includes interesting data. Over 25% of Israelis choosing an academic career prefer the USA over Israel. In 1973, there were 131 senior faculty members for every 100,000 Israelis. Nowadays, the ratio had declined by 53%, to 62 senior faculty members while the number of students pursuing higher education increased more than 400%..

Stop Demonizing Iran, by Sheldon Richman | Future of Freedom Foundation
Not everyone wants the United States to improve relations with Iran. Some prefer war instead. Not because Iran is a threat to the American people, or the Israelis, but because a friendly Iran would no longer furnish the convenient enemy the hawks in the United States and Israel need. So, despite overtures from the new Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, Iran’s regime must still be demonized as a group of religious fanatics — mad mullahs — who cannot be reasoned with and who want nothing more than to lob nuclear warheads at the United States and Israel...

Netanyahu: His Own Worst Enemy | Stephen Lendman
He never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity to act responsibly. He's too set in his ways. He's too far gone to change. He's off the rails entirely. It shows every time he speaks. Likud Extremists Facing Total Defeat, by  Jim W. Dean | Veterans Today
...Israeli Prime Ministers have long sold themselves to the Israeli public on their ability to retain American military aid and taxpayer support. Israelis like seeing their leaders manipulate American policy, to the point of bragging about it publicly at home...

Israel turns blind eye to racist state-employed rabbis, by Jonathan Cook | The Electronic Intifada
Jews must not rent homes to “gentiles.” That was the religious decree issued this week by at least fifty of Israel’s leading rabbis, many of them employed by the state as municipal religious leaders. Jews should first warn, then “ostracize” fellow Jews who fail to heed the directive, the rabbis declared. The decree is the latest in a wave of racist pronouncements from some of Israel’s most influential rabbis...

Why are Americans totally oblivious to the fact that “their” Federal Reserve Bank is Jewish? | Uprooted Palestinians
News today that Janet Yellen is to be the new chairwoman of Federal Reserve, replacing Ben Bernanke. Not surprising of course is that Yellen is Jewish, continuing a long tradition since the formation of the FRB. Quite remarkable when you know only around 2.2% of the American population is Jewish. So what makes Jews especially able to run the most important financial institution in the USA & the world? Is it because they do such a great job in controlling the economy...

As Gaza Dies Slowly, Waiting Game is on, by Ramzy Baroud | Palestine Chronicle
Since the Hamas election victory in January 2006 — and particularly after the Hamas-Fatah clashes and split between Gaza and the West Bank in the summer of 2007 — Gaza has undergone a disturbing human experiment, whose toll is unprecedented in the history of the impoverished Strip. The plotters involve the usual suspects, each with a clear set of objectives behind the isolation and targeting of Gaza. The US and Israel have worked tirelessly to divide Palestinians and derail any chances of a unified government, let alone a cohesive national project...

The War on Terrorism … or whatever, by William Blum | The Anti-Empire Report
...All this barbarity piled on top of a greater absurdity – these Western-backed, anti-government forces are often engaged in battle with other Western-backed, anti-government forces, non-jihadist. It has become increasingly difficult to sell this war to the American public as one of pro-democracy “moderates” locked in a good-guy-versus-bad-guy struggle with an evil dictator, although in actuality the United States has fought on the same side as al Qaeda on repeated occasions before Syria. Here’s a brief survey:..

The Last Desperate Thrashings of a Dinosaur: Is Homeland Security Preparing for the Next Wall Street Collapse? by Ellen Brown | CounterPunch
Reports are that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is engaged in a massive, covert military buildup. An article in the Associated Press in February confirmed an open purchase order by DHS for 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition. According to an op-ed in Forbes, that’s enough to sustain an Iraq-sized war for over twenty years. DHS has also acquired heavily armored tanks, which have been seen roaming the streets. Evidently somebody in government is expecting some serious civil unrest. The question is, why?..

What Russia should do in response to the latest Russia-bashing campaign | The Vineyard of the Saker
...What is certain is that as soon as Putin came to power in 2000 and all throughout the past 13 years the western plutocracy has fought a sustained, if not very effective, political propaganda campaign against Russia..  In response to that campaign, Putin has very successfully responded with a kind of a "judo-move" in which he turned every one of these campaigns into an electoral argument in support of his policies by showing the Russian people how utterly absurd these Russia-bashing campaigns were,  And, truth be told, these were absolutely ridiculous, every single one of them, and this is also why none of them ever had any bigger impact than a wet firecracker...

Year After Year, It Must End: Giant Pentagon Budget Is Unauditable, by Ralph Nader | CounterPunch
The federal government is currently in a state of shutdown thanks to a small faction of extremist Republicans who vehemently bellow that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will have a catastrophic economic effect on our country.. Congress, however, has failed to address the worst excesses in the federal budget — the bloated, highly wasteful military budget. More than half of federal discretionary spending now goes to the military budget. Many more taxpayer dollars are devoted to the Department of Defense than to the critical needs of our citizenry, including the flawed Obamacare which should be replaced with single payer — full Medicare for all...

On August 8th, Lavabit, newly famous for being the secure e-mail service used by the National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden, went dark. Its owner and operator, Ladar Levison, replaced its home page with a message: “I cannot share my experiences over the last six weeks, even though I have twice made the appropriate requests.” Levison could write only that he chose to shut down the company rather than “become complicit in crimes against the American people,” and he promised to “fight for the Constitution in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.”..

..Cicero's iconic speech. "A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation..”

Is Netanyahu Israel’s “Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing“? by Ludwig Watzal | Dissident Voice
Netanyahu’s speech at the UN General Assembly was a political impudence. He showed the world that he has not understood the signs of the times. He seemed out of place with diplomacy and still caught up in aggressive rhetoric. He threatened Iran with an attack. If no other country wants to participate in a raid, Israel will do it alone, he said. President Obama should be forewarned and make clear that the U. S. would not help Israel in a war of aggression. The U. S. should not accept any longer to be jerked around by a politically deranged leader of a tiny country...

Palestinian, Western officials praise racist rabbi | Redress Information & Analysis
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and the United States and British ambassadors to Israel have been paying tribute to one of the vilest, most racist and women-hating warmongers the world has ever known. Palestinians do have options for change and resistance, by Mazin Qumsiyeh | Ma'an News

The poverty, unrest, and hopelessness upon which Communist propaganda thrives will increase throughout the Arab world."..

UK's Liberal Guardian Bids To Become First Global Daily, by Sherwood Ross | OpEd News
If Americans complain they aren't getting the true story about foreign affairs, they're very likely right. By choosing to ignore, say, reporting about the carnage the U.S. has wrought, and the wreckage it has left, across the globe, the American print and broadcast media reveal their subservience to the White House and its corporate allies. I've watched CNN for hours and rarely see a report about the fighting in Afghanistan. You'd never know there's a war on. It's not that CNN distorts the news so much as it omits the news about the mayhem the U.S. inflicts when it goes to war...

The Red Napoleon and the Ends of Revolution, by Binoy Kampmark | CounterPunch
...Giap’s name is much like a secular Moses in the context of engineering the French defeat at Dien Bien Phu in 1954. Hundreds of miles of trenches were dug. The formula was devastating. When that counter-revolutionary power in the form of the United States started replacing the French presence in the manner of not so quiet Americans the program repeated itself...

Iran Urges West: Make an Offer Before Next Week’s Meeting, by Jason Ditz | Antiwar
With Iran and the P5+1 making good progress at talks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, a new round of talks scheduled for next week has raised high hopes. But Iran is hoping to see an actual proposal.. The February plan, such as it was, demanded Iran suspend all 20 percent uranium enrichment, hand over significant amounts of its stockpile of 20 percent enriched uranium unilaterally and close the Fordow enrichment plant. In return, the US would allow Iran to return to gray market bartering in gold, but would keep materially all sanctions in place beyond that...

..American hegemony is over. The bully has been subdued. We cleared the Cape of Good Hope, symbolically speaking, in September 2013. With the Syrian crisis, the world has passed a key forking of modern history. It was touch and go, just as risky as the Cuban missile crisis of 1962. The chances for total war were high, as the steely wills of America and Eurasia had crossed in the Eastern Mediterranean. It will take some time until the realisation of what we’ve gone through seeps in: it is normal for events of such magnitude. The turmoil in the US, from the mad car chase in the DC to the shutdown of federal government and possible debt default, are the direct consequences of this event...

Zionism versus Diplomacy and Peace, by Lawrence Davidson | Intifada Palestine
Iran’s new and more moderate President Hassan Rouhani came to the United Nations at the end of September. Amidst numerous interviews and diplomatic discussions, his message was clear: no, Iran will not give up its legal right to enrich uranium and no, Iran will not develop nuclear weapons. According to Rouhani, Iran is willing to prove this second point by “ensuring full transparency [of its nuclear program] under international law.” In exchange for doing so, Iran will demand “a total lifting” of international sanctions. In truth, this has been the position of the Iranian government for years...

CIA Activities in Syria: US Never Stops to Step on Same Rake, by Andrei Akulov | Strategic Culture Foundation
According to the Washington Post, the CIA is expanding a clandestine effort to train opposition fighters in Syria, as U.S. officials said. The newspaper reports the CIA’s mission has been defined by the White House’s desire to seek a political settlement, a scenario that relies on an eventual stalemate among the warring factions rather than a clear victor. As a result, US officials said, limits on the agency’s authorities enable it to provide enough support to help ensure that politically moderate, U.S.-supported militias don’t lose but not enough for them to win...

Zionist Hollywood: Not a Bed of Roses, by Jo Neace Krause | Veterans Today
Movie stars are dreamers who feed a dreaming world, but some of them have their  eyes open to reality with an extraordinary understanding of what that reality means. They know all about  the  power games that move this world and the intriguing, puzzling submission of people who find themselves  exploited by one form or another of the entrapments laid for them...

Only months remain to stop global surveillance machine: conference of civil libertarians and digital experts, by Barrie Zwicker | Truth and Shadows
We know massive surveillance has nothing to do with actual terrorism – that it is all about control and eliminating dissent. We know that the surveillance state knows more about us than we ourselves know. But do we know how long may be the window of opportunity to achieve some real curbs on runaway surveillance, before a New Dark Ages is entrenched beyond all resistance? It could be only “a few months” in the opinion of Professor Andrew Clement of the University of Toronto...

Another World Is Coming, by Frank Scott | Legalienate

Barking Up The Wrong Tree, by Peter Jenkins | LobeLog
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement to the UN General Assembly today leaves me feeling frustrated. There are more than 30 points in it that I would dearly love to discuss with him, either because they seem to be of questionable veracity, or because they are assertions that are not backed up by evidence. But perhaps I should count myself lucky that such an opportunity will never come my way. I suspect Mr. Netanyahu is a politician who finds it hard to concede a point or learn from his mistakes...

Palestinian-Israeli Sings Jewish | Roi Tov
...In the eighties, our teachers loved to scare us. In the morning hours, the sun already scorched the long barracks we called school. Washed in sweat, they told us that the Nazis had turned our grandparents into soap. Years later, this was found to be a lie, no human DNA was ever found in the infamous soap bars; it was just another scary Israeli soap-opera. "How dare you, the Germans are the bad guys!" my teacher shouts at this text from her cold, white sepulcher.. those with a sharp ear could recognize the Zionist's only message repeated in all of them: "The entire world is against us."..

BBC Panorama: Saving Syria's Children | YouTube
BBC Panorama travels with British doctors inside Syria to exclusively reveal the devastating impact of the war on children caught in the conflict. The doctors witness the aftermath of the bombing of a school by a suspected napalm-like incendiary device and medical facilities constantly under attack - both war crimes under international law. Filmed in the north of the country after the chemical weapons attack in Damascus which inflamed world opinion and brought America, Russia and the UN to the table, the film shows how the conventional war is intensifying with children bearing the brunt of this humanitarian catastrophe...

The Republic of Lying | Stephen Lendman
Longtime investigative journalist Seymour Hersh addressed it.. Others like him did years earlier. They included HL Mencken, Charles Edward Russell, Lincoln Steffens, Upton Sinclair, and IF Stone among others. Stone (1907 - 1989) said he "tried to bring the instincts of a scholar to the service of journalism; to take nothing for granted; to turn journalism into literature; to provide radical analysis with a conscientious concern for accuracy, and in studying the current scene to do (his) very best to preserve human values and free institutions."..

Hillary Clinton's 2016 Chances: The Coming Train Wreck, by Amy Davidson | The New Yorker
Do people really think that a Hillary Clinton 2016 campaign is a good idea—for the Democratic Party, our collective sanity, even for her? Maybe it doesn’t matter; some political locomotives just move ahead, even if the wreck is predestined, and her campaign is now coming around the bend...

Why did they kill her? The Lady And The Police Chase, by Rosemarie Jackowski | Countercurrents
It was a very hot summer afternoon in 1972. I was heading for home on a quiet country road in south Jersey. I was tired and hungry after working all day. My 4 year old daughter was sitting in the back seat quietly reading a book. When I saw that there was a police road block ahead, I pulled into a driveway and turned around, intending to take an alternate way home. I did not want to be delayed. Suddenly my rear view mirror was filled with a rainbow of red and blue flashing lights...

Prove What You Don't Have, by Paul Balles | Intifada Palestine
Prove that you don’t have what I believe you have! That was an exact demand made on Saddam Hussein. He scoffed.  That brought “shock and awe”, and Saddam was hanged on the mother of all ropes. Prove that you don’t have weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). The neocons sold the logic of that empty demand and the American public bought it...

Politicians, by Mazin Qumsiyeh | Popular Resistance
Netanyahu tells Obama to keep illegal sanctions on Iran and that he can get AIPAC to help resolve the US budget conflict (a conflict caused in large part by trillions spent for Israel)! Livni tells J Street that the Israeli Occupation Army is a great army and that its is only fighting terrorists (even though she admitted her own parents were members of the Irgun terror organization and met while robbing a British train). Abbas tells US Jewish leaders that Palestinians can give up on 78% of Palestine. Obama tells the UN that he seeks peace between the “Jewish state” and the Palestinians...

Killjoy Was Here, by Uri Avnery | Dissident Voice
Binyamin Netanyahu aroused my pity. From my 10 years of membership in the Knesset I know how unpleasant it is to speak before an empty hall. His die-hard followers – a pathetic residue of Casino magnates and burnt-out Zionist right-wingers – sat in the gallery and an over-blown Israeli delegation sat in the hall, but they only underlined the general emptiness. Depressing. How different from President Hassan Rouhani’s reception!..

Israel’s “men of God” pray for failure of peace talks | Redress Information & Analysis
Israel’s rabbis, the advocates and guardians of Judaism, are asking God to prevent peace from descending on the Holy Land. The Israeli news website Ynet reports that, upon hearing rumours that Israel might relinquish tiny bits of the land it has stolen from the indigenous Palestinians, Israeli rabbis and heads of religious schools known as yeshiva issued a manifesto ordering worshippers to add to the amidah prayer, which is said three times a day on weekdays, a special prayer calling on God to kill the prospects of peace with the Palestinians...

Alison Weir: Americans say NO to Zionist attempted censorship | My Catbird Seat
As I wrote before, Israelists worked behind the scenes to block me from speaking in South Dakota during a visit to the state last week. They got the local World Affairs Council to pull its sponsorship of one talk, tried unsuccessfully to scare off other hosts, and pressured media not to cover my events. And they may have headed off other invitations, as some events fell through in the planning stage. But we fought back with the best weapon against censorship — exposure. We publicized the story, and South Dakota media covered it widely, including a front page article in the state's biggest newspaper...

US Zionist attack dog brought to heel, by Finian Cunningham | PressTV
Interesting times are in the offing between the US and Iran as the American government says it is now “ready for talks” with the Islamic Republic - after 34 years of hostility since the Iranian Revolution of 1979. US Secretary of State John Kerry has said that economic sanctions imposed on Iran could be lifted within six months.. American officials seem to have resisted Israel’s latest saber rattling when Premier Benjamin Netanyahu hotfooted it to Washington earlier this week with grim warnings that Iran’s diplomatic overtures were merely a ruse...

The Worth of an Israel Police Informant's Body | Roi Tov
...How inept must the Police be to fail to cover up its own crimes? Israel Police prides itself on being professional with intelligent investigators, fearless forensic scientists, and aggressive anti-terrorism forces. Yet, this impressive list also includes the body of Eyal Salhub. It is almost good. It has just a few bullets in the head, and his skin was slightly burnt by a fire set to hide evidence. How much is his body worth? On October 4, 2013, even the aftermath attempt to hide the frightful facts failed, when the Police admitted having paid a silence fee to the family of the dead...

Israel’s academic standing: mediocre and getting worse | Jews sans frontieres
One reason we are always told that we can never ever boycott Israel is because of its sterling academic reputation. Israel, we have heard on countless occasions, is a paragon of science, medicine and humanities. If we boycott Israel we’ll be boycotting the cutting-edgiest of high-tech, the most miraculous research in medicine, the inventors of… well, just about everything. Well, it seems that such talk of Israeli academic excellence is pure propaganda...

No such thing as 'Israeli nationhood,' country's Supreme Court says | LA Times
There is no such thing as "Israeli nationhood," Israel's Supreme Court has ruled, putting to an end a 40-year legal battle but leaving fundamental questions about national identity and the character of the country very much open. The court on Wednesday rejected a petition by a group of Israelis to change the ethnic registration on their identity cards from "Jewish" to "Israeli." Some Arab citizens joined the petition, also asking to be listed as "Israeli."..

Israeli agents operating in "many" Arab countries, especially Egypt | Middle East Monitor
The former director of Israeli military intelligence, General Amos Yadlin, has revealed that its operatives have penetrated a number of Arab countries, notably Egypt. Yadlin also named Tunisia, Morocco, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen, Lebanon, Iran, Libya, Palestine and Syria as places where Israeli agents are active... He said that the Military Intelligence Division's work against the "enemy" has succeeded in escalating unrest and sectarian and social tensions wherever they are operating, especially in Egypt...

US waking up to threat of Israel, by Mark Glenn | PressTV
The beginning of September featured what looked for sure to be yet another military disaster in the Middle East for Israel's benefit. By all appearances, a nagging, needling Benjamin Netanyahu had finally gotten on US President Barack Obama's last nerve and pushed him into doing what he has resisted doing now for the last four years, meaning war with Syria.. And then, almost as quickly as it all started, it ended as abruptly as someone slamming on the brakes...

The American People Smash The Lobby — At Least For Now | MJ Rosenberg
I have always believed that, at some point, the Israeli prime minister and his lobby would lose their grip on U.S. Middle East policy, at least I’ve believed that since 1982 when Tom Dine, AIPAC’s most successful executive director,  explained how it would happen. It was during my four year stint at AIPAC that I asked Dine if a president of the United States could take a position opposed by the lobby, in a case where U.S. national security interests were clearly at stake,  and prevail...

Was it a Psyop? Nairobi Mall Deceit Abets Israeli-Western Pipeline Wars to Oust Asian Rivals, by Yoichi Shimatsu | Global Research
..As the events at the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi unfolded, it became clear that the bloody spectacle was staged by a shadowy entity, which the Kenya foreign minister described as “Al Qaeda”. Israel Cancels History | Roi Tov
...Western democracies are closer to the London-based terror-regime described in Orwell's 1984 surveillance nightmare than to the image that these regimes are indefatigably advertising. They have no choice; the day after they stop brainwashing their citizens, these will rebel against the unjustifiable oppression. On October 3, 2013, a dry administrative decision by Israel's Minister of Education caused George Orwell to stir uncomfortably in his tomb and dwarfed USA's attempts to become the oppressive British Empire described by that author. Israel decided to cancel history...

NSA and Jewish Bankers: Two Zionist Monsters, by Jonas E. Alexis | Veterans Today
...What we are clearly seeing here is that if you are against anything that the Zionist regime has cooked up, then you are more than likely to be labeled a terrorist or something equally worse. Whenever the Zionist mob is not in charge, they ask for diversity; but whenever they take control over the academia, they fine you if you ask for just an ounce of diversity...

Interview with James Fetzer: ‘Israel’s case against diplomacy on Iran baseless’ | PressTV
...Iran has never made an effort to overthrow the government of the United States, but in 1953, Kermit Roosevelt and the CIA overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran. It’s atrocious to suggest the US has reasons to distrust Iran when Iran has every reason to distrust the United States. Iran is a peaceful nation, it hasn’t attacked any other country in over 300 years, has signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty, allows inspectors, and is perfectly entitled to develop a peaceful nuclear energy program...

Honouring Palestinian human rights defender Raji Sourani, by Phyllis Bennis and Richard Falk | Al Jazeera

Jewish Americans turning their backs on Israel | Redress Information & Analysis

Obamacare Is Another Private Sector Rip-Off Of Americans | Paul Craig Roberts
...When Republicans for ideological reasons blocked a single-payer health system like the rest of the developed world has and, indeed, even some developing countries have, the Obama regime, needing a victory, went to the insurance companies and told them to come up with a health care plan that the insurance lobby could get passed by Congress. Obamacare was written by the private insurance industry with the goal of raising its profits with 50 million mandated new customers...

Rethinking the Two-State Solution, by Neve Gordon | CounterPunch
...J Street does not want to find itself promoting an irrelevant political program, it will need to begin thinking about an alternative that guarantees both democracy and a certain strain of Zionism, but also advocates a single state in which Jews and Palestinians live together as equals.. The question now is whether the new lobby will have the foresight and audacity to follow the footsteps of major Zionist intellectuals who supported a binational state — like the great philosopher Martin Buber and the founder and first president of Hebrew University, Judah Magnes — and take the road less traveled...

Government Looking for Witches Will Find Them, by Andrew P. Napolitano | Antiwar
..The Obama administration is of the view that the NSA can spy on anyone anywhere. The president believes that federal statutes enable the secret FISA court to authorize the NSA to capture any information it desires about any persons without identifying the persons and without a showing of probable cause of criminal behavior on the part of the persons to be spied upon. This is the same mindset that the British government had with respect to the colonists. It, too, believed that British law permitted a judge in secret in Britain to issue general warrants to be executed in the colonies at the whim of British agents...

US cowardice will let Israel’s isolated right off the hook, by Robert Fisk | The Independent
...when Mr Rouhani came to speak, Western nations crowded into the chamber to hear him. But Israel stormed out. “A stupid gesture,” according to that wise old Israeli sage, writer and philosopher Uri Avnery. “As rational and effective as a little boy’s tantrum when his favourite toy is taken away. Stupid because it painted Israel as a spoiler, at a time when the entire world is seized by an attack of optimism after the recent events in Damascus and Tehran. Stupid, because it proclaims the fact that Israel is at present totally isolated.”..

Edward Said and His Quest for a Just Peace, by Sandy Tolan | Palestine Chronicle
Edward Said died ten years ago – in September 2003, after a twelve-year battle with leukemia. One of the 20th century’s great intellectuals, Said, author of the masterworks Orientalism and Culture and Imperialism, was also a beloved professor to generations of students at Columbia University, a gifted amateur pianist and an opera critic for The Nation magazine. He was perhaps best known for his fierce defense of the rights of his people, the Palestinians, in numerous books and hundreds of essays and articles published worldwide...

America's Empty Gestures Toward Iran, by Stephen M. Walt | Foreign Policy
Even if you stayed up since Friday and skipped the finale of Breaking Bad, there's no way you could have kept up with all the commentary about the U.S.-Iranian minuet at the U.N. Can Iran Trust the United States? by Sheldon Richman | The Future of Freedom Foundation
People ask whether the United States can trust Iran. The better question is whether Iran can trust the United States. Since 1979 the U.S. government has prosecuted a covert and proxy war against Iran. The objective has been regime change and installation of a government that will loyally serve U.S. state objectives. This war began after the popular overthrow of the U.S. government’s client, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, whose brutal regime the Eisenhower administration and CIA had preserved by driving Iran’s popular Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh from office in 1953. Had the U.S. government not supported the shah and his secret police, there would have been no 1979 Islamic Revolution...

George Stephanopoulos Thinks Iran is Enriching Weapons-Grade Uranium, by Nima Shirazi | Wide Asleep in America
Iran's new foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif appeared on ABC's "This Week" and addressed a number of the same questions every Iranian official is asked again and again in interviews by the American media. George Stephanopoulos, who effectively conducted the same interview with former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad three years in a row, asked Zarif about possible concessions Iran is willing to make over its nuclear program. By doing so, however, he revealed that he knows very little about Iran's domestic enrichment program and the consistent findings of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)..

Im Tirzu’s Shoval: Nuke Iran | Tikun Olam
On a day when Bibi Netanyahu brayed yet again from a UN rostrum about the Iranian nuclear threat, Im Tirzu’s Ronen Shoval was busy at home reinforcing the message.  Employing the classic Kahanist slogan (later adopted by figures as diverse as John McCain and others), ‘Never Again,’ Shoval penned a Jerusalem Post op-ed advocating using Israeli nuclear weapons to destroy Iran’s nuclear program. It’s a classic Kahanist manifesto, which argues that the non-Jewish world failed to defend Jews during the Holocaust and cannot be expected to protect what he calls the “Zionist enterprise” from Iran’s “2014 Shoah.”..

People’s History of Gaza and Egypt: The Bond Cannot Be Broken, by Ramzy Baroud | Palestine Chronicle
...Gaza is being 'collectively punished', and is now facing economic hardship and a severe fuel shortage as a result of the Egyptian army's destroying of underground tunnels. This is nothing particularly new. In fact, such 'collective punishment' has defined Gaza's relationship to Israel for the last 65 years. Successive sieges and wars have left Gaza with deep scars, but left its people extremely strong, resilient and resourceful. But what makes the tightening of the Israeli siege - imposed in earnest since 2007 - particularly painful is that it comes through Egypt...

It’s crazy because it has nothing to do with defending the country: it’s about dominating the world. And, as Edward Snowden has revealed, a good part of that enormous sum is spent spying on Washington’s number one enemy – the American people. That’s why Mr. Parasite and his fellow leeches are wondering "What the hell?" these days – because Americans are waking up to the scam, and calling his perks and privileges into question...

UNSC Resolution 2118: a half-full glass? | The Vineyard of the Saker

The Americans understand that too.  So they also understand that if they find Syria in material breach of UNSC Res 2118 they will have to go to the UNSC where the best they can hope for is a Russian and Chinese agreement to Chapter VII measures which fall short of the use of military force.. So short of Assad throwing a chemical hand grenade from his balcony on CNN live - the UNSC will not endorse an attack on Syria...

Canadian Colonizers Criticize Aroma, Israel | Roi Tov
On the day after Netanyahu's speech at the 68th UN General Assembly, the earth still spins. It couldn't be otherwise after a speech that can be categorized exclusively as "irrelevant" and "arrogant." The issue is simple. As long as Israel aims its nuclear missiles at Iran, it cannot criticize any Iranian attempt to defend itself. Until The Negev Nuclear Research Center in Dimona, the Ben Gurion University nuclear engineering facilities, the Wing 2 IAF Base, the Palmachim IAF Base, and the nuclear weapons on Israeli fleet of German submarines are publicly dismantled, Netanyahu must be quiet. He has no moral right to utter even one word...

And the same thing has been going on ever since. Kennedy rejected the deal and that's one of the reasons he was killed...

A Syrian solution to civil conflict? The Free Syrian Army is holding talks with Assad's senior staff, by Robert Fisk | The Independent
Six weeks ago, a two-man delegation arrived in secret in Damascus: civilians from Aleppo who represented elements of the Free Syrian Army, the rebel group largely composed of fighters who deserted the regime’s army in the first year of the war. They came under a guarantee of safety, and met, so I am told, a senior official on the staff of President Bashar al-Assad. And they carried with them an extraordinary initiative – that there might be talks between the government and FSA officers who “believed in a Syrian solution” to the war...

...In the survey, 51% said that they had considered leaving Israel, while 38% said they had not and 11% said they had no possibility of leaving. 49% of those polled felt that leaving Israel was more legitimate today than in the past, while 34% felt that it was exactly the same as in the past. The survey also found that the Israeli public rejected out of hand the label given to emigrants by the late Yitzhak Rabin in the 1970s as "drop-out weaklings." 80% of respondents said they don't agree with this label...
[Perhaps attrition will turn out to be the solution – not with a bang, but a whimper. All that will be left will be the crazies, unable no longer able to sustain their domination over the Palestinians.]

Mainstream Media's Ongoing Disinformation Campaign on Iran, by Nima Shirazi | Wide Asleep in America
As the United States and Iran carefully embark on a renewed push for diplomacy, including direct contact between the presidents of each country for the first time in 34 years, the mainstream media continues to stymie any chance for an honest assessment of Iran's nuclear program, engaging instead in disinformation, misrepresentation and misleading reporting that has long characterized coverage of the issue...

Israel Doesn’t Give a Hoot About Iranian Nukes, by John Glaser | Antiwar
In the coming weeks and months, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is likely to “dedicate himself to derailing any prospect for a diplomatic breakthrough” between the United States and Iran. And the reasons have nothing at all to do with Iran’s nuclear program. Instead, Israeli intransigence on the Iran issue is motivated by two factors: (1) maintaining regional military superiority and hegemony, and (2) distracting from the Israeli-Palestinian issue...

Cheesy Tricks, Cofix, and Trampy Israel | Roi Tov
"Starbucks failed in Israel," I said while sipping a cup of coffee. The person listening to my chit-chat laughed. At the time, I was not aware that the company supports Israel. In the 1990's, Yitzhak Tshuva, who is active in the energy market and is one of Israel's richest oligarchs, brought Starbucks to the Holy Land. An expert in gasoline can seldom prepare a decent cup of coffee; Mr. Tshuva confirmed this ancestral rule...

Netanyahu says nuclear-armed Iran as dangerous as '50 North Koreas' | The Hill
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used his United Nations address Tuesday to put President Obama on notice that Israel is prepared to attack Iran on its own. The Israeli leader said Iran’s diplomatic overtures are not to be trusted and urged the world body to keep up the pressure on Iran to give up its nuclear program...

New Israeli Math and the Return of the Holocaust Analogy: Steinitz: Iran "Equal to 30 Nuclear North Koreas" | Wide Asleep in America
At the second annual Jerusalem Post Conference, held in New York City on Sunday April 28, a number of former and current Israeli officials offered new estimates about Iran's nuclear progress, issued threats of war and pretended Israel is more powerful and militarily capable than it really is. In other words, it was just another day of shameless and shameful Israeli propaganda; pathetic, jingoistic bluster meant to appeal to hawkish American donors, puff up Israel's inflated sense of self, and attempt to boost its already non-existent credibility...

What a Way to Run the Country | Stephen Lendman
Americans get the best democracy money can buy. The best, brightest and most honorable are excluded. Rare exceptions prove the rule. Washington is dysfunctional, out-of-control, corrupt, lawless and self-serving. Miscreants infest the nation's capital. They do so like crabgrass besets lawns. Both parties represent two sides of the same coin...

Government shuts down! Drones grounded, NSA shuttered; dogs, Syrians and pot-smokers safe? NOT! by Kevin Barrett | Veterans Today
...The “American Holocaust” is a term coined by historian William Blum for the murder of millions of people around the world by US military and CIA “interventions” since World War II. According to André Vltchek and Noam Chomsky’s new book Western Terrorism: From Hiroshima to Drone Warfare, the total number of people murdered by the US and its stooges since World War II is between 55 and 60 million...

My Reaction to Netanyahu’s Speech: Pure Joy | MJ Rosenberg
By responding to Iran’s outstretched hand with snarling sarcasm and the open threat of war, Netanyahu has dealt Israel out of the entire US/Iranian diplomatic process.  Netanyahu made clear that he has no interest in anything President Rouhani might say or offer. His interest is in discrediting him and convincing the United States to join Israel in an attack on Iran. But now, thanks in part to this speech, what Netanyahu wants or thinks doesn’t matter.  With 85% of Americans supporting improved relations with Iran (according to the Washington Post poll), President Obama has the mandate he needs to go forward...

Message to the UN from Uruguay, by Ariadna Theokopoulos | deLiberation
...speeches like the one delivered by Uruguayan president are not common. He criticized the unfettered consumerism, greed, waste and the “market god”  He expressed disapproval of ungovernable globalization, spoke about the national feeling that is imprinted in our genetic code but criticized the national chauvinism of the world powers. He spoke against war, which he said leads to a blind course that only ensures hate, fanaticism and mistrust. Mujica also criticized organizations like the UN. He said the organization languishes without democracy because small countries like Uruguay.. cannot enter the decision making centers “even to serve coffee.”..

Parano-Semitism, or Paranoid Jew Syndrome, by Dov Frishberg | The Times of Israel

A Wall for a Wall: Mirroring Racism, by William A. Cook | Salem News
Now that our President has handed over the resolution of the Syrian debacle to the United Nations, perhaps justice demands that he hand over resolution of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict to that international body as well. One can turn to the reality of the illegal machinations of the Israeli Zionist government any day of the week and see and know and feel the terror that exists for the occupied people who are defenseless before the impunity granted to the state of Israel for crimes that any other member nation of the UN would, as is true of Syria, be brought for justice before the International Courts...

Israel’s Politics of Deflection | Richard Falk
During my period as the UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Palestine on behalf of the Human Rights Council I have been struck by the persistent efforts of Israel and its strong civil society adjuncts to divert attention from the substance of Palestinian grievances or the consideration of the respective rights of Israel and Palestine under international law. I have also observed that many, but by not means all of those who represent the Palestinians seem strangely reluctant to focus on substance or to take full advantage of opportunities to use UN mechanisms to challenge Israel on the terrain of international law and morality...

The Life Of An American Jew In Racist Marxist Israel | The People's Voice
..The late Jack Bernstein was a rarity—an American Zionist who actually "returned" to Israel, not for a vacation or to summer on a kibbutz, but to live and die in Israel building a Jewish nation. What makes him almost one of a kind, though, was his ability to see through the sham and hype to the oppressive, racist, parasitic character of Zionism as practiced in modern Israel, and his courage to denounce it with the force and fervor of an Old Testament prophet. Bernstein tells how it was, how it is, and how it will be—as long as American taxpayers tolerate their leaders’ bowing to every wish and whim of the Ashkenazic (Eastern European) elite which rules Israel...

Syria: New Constellations Emerge | Moon of Alabama
...The precautious U.S. government move to detente with Iran, widely supported by the U.S. population, will put pressure on the Gulf regimes. They are financially bound to the "west" and can not stand against the U.S. will. When Obama will finally throw away the regime change platitudes and decide to shut down the supply lines to the Jihadis in Syria, the Gulf states, as well as Turkey, will have to comply. Iran and Russia put out some feelers that might make it it easier, especially for the Saudis, to dismount from the sectarian horse they have been riding in the wake of Shia ascendency...

The Consistency of Official Iranian Commentary: Are Rouhani's Statements Really a Huge Break from the Past? | Wide Asleep in America
...Same goes for the Jerusalem Post, which ran a similar story entitled, "Rouhani on peace process: Whatever the Palestinians accept, Iran will accept," and quoted the Iranian president as saying that "the decision makers about Palestine are the people of Palestine," in response to a question about the stagnant Israeli-Palestinian peace process. Is this breaking news? Hardly. This has been the constantly repeated position of the Iranian government for years, consistently reiterated for years by Rouhani's presidential predecessor, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad...

Yes, MEMRI, there is a Fatwa from Khamenei forbidding Nukes, by Juan Cole | Informed Comment
I’m told that MEMRI, which has its origins in Israeli military intelligence, has put out a statement doubting that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei ever issued a fatwa forbidding nuclear weapons. (MEMRI claims to be a 501(c)3 non-profit but is actually an effort to cherry-pick Middle Eastern news to present the most negative face of the Arab world to Americans so as to prejudice them in favor of Israel; in this case it is just doing propaganda)..

NSA: Rogue Spying Writ Large | Stephen Lendman
No nation in human history ever harmed more millions of people more grievously than America. None ever did it more deceptively. None did under the guise of promoting democratic values. None claimed more disingenuous nobel intentions. None expressed more support for human and civil rights while egregiously violating them. None more dangerously threatened humanity. None operated more lawlessly with malicious intent...

On Blood Rituals | Gilad Atzmon
...When, the ‘Goyim’ start to complain about Jewish blood rituals is when they are willing to admit to themselves that something is distinctively different and wrong with Jewish culture. Such a transition is indeed a sign of growing resentment towards Jewish culture and politics. In America this transition takes place at a time when the wide public gathers that it is Israel and the Jewish lobby that are relentlessly pushing the west into wars...

Israel's Taboo Reaches Court | Roi Tov
...Your Honor, Your Most Honest Attorney General of Israel Yehuda Weinstein, these are State crimes. Let me remind you a few wise words told about your alleged ancestors: "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith" (Mathew 23:23). Mr. Weinstein, without open and public Justice, your society becomes just a Fijian-derived taboo...

Breeding terror in Guantanamo? by Belen Fernandez | Al Jazeera
The "debate" about what to do with the remaining Guantanamo prisoners - 84 of whom Reuters acknowledges were "cleared for release years ago" - boils down to what has become Barack Obama's signature move: pursuing the same fundamental policies as his detractors while pretending not to. Those detractors lend a hand to the arrangement by making Obama appear sane...

What is Kerry actually negotiating with Iran? | Iran Affairs
..’Asked what steps Iran could take to prove its seriousness, Kerry replied: "They could immediately open for inspection the Fordo facility, they could immediately sign the protocol of the international community regarding inspections, they could offer to cease voluntarily to take enrichment above a certain level."’ Except that Fordo has been open to inspections for years, since the Iranians (and not US intelligence agencies, as the NYT claims) first disclosed the location of the site to the IAEA. In fact Mohammad ElBaradei himself visited Fordo, and famously said it was nothing more than a hole in the mountain and nothing to be worried about...

Jewish schism threatens Israel’s deadly grip on USA | Redress Information & Analysis
Israel is losing its deadly grip on the American people. And it’s not just the ordinary folk who are turning their backs on the apartheid state, but American Jews, hitherto its loyal foot soldiers. Nothing could illustrate this better than the sight of the leaders of J Street, the “liberal” Zionist American lobby group, praising the Israeli armed forces while the audience cheers the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement, BDS...

After Rohani’s Visit to New York: Flynt Leverett on Prospects for U.S.-Iranian Nuclear Diplomacy | Going to Tehran
...In the wake of President Rohani’s visit to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, much of the American commentariat (including one of Flynt’s co-panelists on the Newshour) is asking how much the Islamic Republic will be prepared to concede—or, more bluntly, surrender—in nuclear talks.  But, as we have noted before, this is mistaken and self-deluding view...

Shabak Nabs Alleged Iranian Spy–Surprise!–Same Day Bibi Leaves for UN to Skewer Iran | Tikun Olam
...I never believe he posed a threat to anyone. In short, this incident is nothing like the Israeli-MeK assassination campaign and sabotage of Iranian missile facilities, which are crimes of state terrorism for which the Mossad and its leadership should be tried before an international court. Israel’s spying and terror is far more lethal than anything Iran has mounted...
